How mad has your "significant other" made you this week? What did you do in response?
Off-Topic Discussion « General Discussion 11/16/09 1:27:41 AM
Nice show of sympathy for someone you're supposed to love. I can't imagine why she wouldn't want to have sex with such a prince. It's no wonder she's depressed. |

We've been married 15 years and I can't even imagine being without him. We rarely even argue, let alone fight. We still have wonderful conversations and have never run out of things to do or discuss. I can't understand why anyone would want to live with a person who would treat them as mean spirited as the OP treated his wife. |

some questions on the war on drugs

I don't get it. Am I missing something? I'd assume the opposite would be true. While I also think the "war on drugs" is as useless and silly as it is expensive, I should think an anarchist would also be opposed to it. Same deal with Libertarians, no? I'm falling into your sarchasm, aren't I? :o
Edited because I somehow stuck a strange word in the middle of all that! eek! |

That's just totally over the top. I simply wouldn't do it. I'd sell them on eBay or some other way if I had to. I won't give my phone number at shops (had to leave a Radio Shack empty handed before) or allow my social security number to be used as any sort of ID, either. It's not even legal for them to ask, I believe. I just think these rules are unnecessary and the information can be abused. What's next? |

Wow, I've seen people say all that's needed in one word but Teala got it in one letter! Good work! |

I'd agree with LOTRO but I'm not so sure about Vanguard as far as community goes. The people who play might be nice but from what I've heard, there's not very many of them. I only played it in beta and, personally, it was so bad that I almost lost the will to live. ;p And Ryzom? There's probably even less people playing. I suppose it depends on whether you want any sort of thriving population or just friendly faces. I can't really recommend EQ2. I played when it first came out and didn't like it at all. I tried after they made all those big changes and it was much better but nowhere near as good as LOTRO. I found it pretty uninspired, for the most part. As for Aion - I can't imagine anyone playing it for the PVE. The PVP is definitely where the focus went, in my opinion. |

Scott Jennings (Lum the Mad) wrote one of those Dummy books. "Massively Multiplayer Games for Dummies". It was several years ago, though. You can still get it on Amazon. |

I've tried to read this from every angle and I just don't understand. Can you explain what it means? (I'm not trying to be snarky or anything, btw) |

What's the difference in playing a girl if you are a guy in rl, and a 12 year old girl playing a 21 year old looking character?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/06/09 10:23:37 PM
Not very many games where you can play a fat girl. I'd love to play one more often. Fat bottomed girls make the rockiin' world go round, you know! |

Maybe I'm not understanding, but according to that article he makes over $3,000,000 a year in salary alone and even more than that in other income. They were married 26 years and have a child. If he was the main support for the family, how is it not fair? He's not even contesting it. And I don't understand what any of it has to do with women running for office? If the woman was the main support, who's to say the judge (who was a man, by the way) wouldn't have ruled the same way? |

Whatever you get him, try and go for a rescue dog. You'll be surprised how fantastic you'll feel when you give a needy pet a home. |

Sorry, Riki, that's sad. I've lost pets in the past, too. I have two kitties right now and I would be heartbroken if anything happened to them. It's true about finding out whether or not you grandfather is ready for another pet, though. Sometimes you need a bit of time to get over things and adjust to the loss. |

I started smoking when I was kind of young and gave it up some years ago. Quitting tobacco was horribly hard and painful for me. I swear that nicotine must be the most addictive substance in the world. I think giving up heroin might be easier! It's not the threat of illness that keeps me from smoking again - it's the horror of quitting!

Does anyone actually play with RL friends?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/03/09 7:54:22 PM
I'm not at the moment (except with my husband) but I have in the past. It's really great fun to play with personal friends. I've also been playing MMOs with the same guild for about six years or so. |

Downtime: Bring it Back or Lose it?

Why? Just wondering. I've been playing online games pretty much since there were online games, and I don't see the point - unless you want to game that way. They're games, not life lessons that you can only learn by suffering through the "bad" stuff. Not that I think those things were necessarily bad. They were fun at the time, although sometimes frustrating. It's just that if you don't want to bother with them, you don't have to anymore. I don't need games to teach me lessons and I don't have to play the bits that are a hassle to appreciate them. Games are improving and evolving, in my opinion, and the less down time, the better. If you want the grindy bits, they still exist in games. Sorry, no offense, but I just can't wrap my head around your point. (err... I don't mean that in a pervy way! |
