the reason other games offer free trials is simple, it increases sub numbers...if it didnt, they would'nt offer trials, the most basic logic there can be. When AV offers trials I will give it a shot and if I like it I will sub, I have done that for every MMO out there since wow was released, I wont ever again blindly step into an MMO, it has never worked out well. Until than i'll be happy to keep up on the news, but you wont be seeing me putting any of my hard earned money into this game until I can have a stab at it with no risk. |

JIve if you cant handle OTHER people offering thier opinion on CO, why bother offering yours?? they are erntitled to give thier opinion just as much as you are. |

WoW is definately still very alive and kicking, lots of people leveling alts these days as well with the introduction of heirloom items. I was out for about a year, just came back, having fun in Northrend! |

Tibbz is 100% correct, dump the 4870X2 for a lighter card and step up the cpu. You wont get near the bang for your buck on the 4870 without a cpu to keep up with it. id say go HD4890. |

He didnt rate it low because of the gemeplay, but because of its current state of development. I think this review was very unbiased and quite fair, you would review DF on emotion and that alone, the reviewer in question put feelings aside and reviewed the game based on FACTS, not feelings. The game is not even close to done, hence it scored lower than youd like, sorry bub. |

Champions Online: OMEGA System, Microtransactions Unveiled

Doesnt make ANY difference to me, just provides me an extra option for certain things. Perhaps if there were so many people out there buying in game currancy from the gold farmers we wouldnt have RMT, but the majprity of the MMO player community has shown they dont mind paying a little extra above and beyond thier monthly subs to get ahead, dont blame the game companies, blame your fellow players.... |

I read somewhere that DFO was marked by many CC companies because of their false advertisement/fraud/etc, and that it wouldn't be so much of a problem to get your money back.
correct however, asking for refund due to "false advertisment" is not technicaly a charge back, a charge back is typicaly refering to an amount on your CC you did not authorize, IE fraud, asking your CC company for a refund based on the suitability of a product is a different type of claim. |
|
|
youd have to prove that Adv did not fully disclose thier return policy, and also that the product you received was not as advertised, and or suitable for your purposes (which is certainly arguable), in a claim to your CC provider, you cant file this as a charge back as you technicaly DID receive a product that YOU knowingly purchased (IE not fraud) |

Rydeson you dont have nearly enough information to form an eductaed opion...hell you dont even have enough to back up your personal opinion yet. Once the game is out we will all see exactly what they have been talking about, till than, why not put your energies towards something more....constructive... |

In any event I feel the OPs' pain as far as Jedi and SWG goes. That was what ruined it for me also. I didn't even mind the combat and class changes as much. If they had gotten rid of the Jedi there's a good chance I'd stil be playing. Having said that, I haven't completely written this new game off. Although it has Jedi I realize it's a different game and I'll wait for more info before deciding to try it or not. I have become less interested in it though, especially since I just learned they are planning on some kind of RMT system.
Well, even if it IS stagnateing as you say, thats evolution if you want to get technical, but in the end I disagree with your assement... |

Star Wars: Galaxies to Star Wars: The Old Republic...

ok so you dont like biowares idea. Thats too bad, because im pretty sure its going to be a fun ride. What your looking for is not what the mass market is looking for anymore im afraid. The days of the sandbox mmo have come to a close as far as I can see, which is a shame, I love them too, but I can learn to love something different. If you cant learn to evolve with the video game industry your going to miss out bub. |

In the end I think your biggest mistake was buying a prebuild at bestbuy, prebuilds are all garbage, constructed from garbage components, the PSU's are usualy the WORST offenders, you should take a look at eh PSU, I have a feeling you might be suprised at what you see... |

this is going to be golden lol. You do all realise reviewers are compairing this game to other games of the current generation in terms of ease of play, learning curve, visuals, just plain polish, etc. I have a feeling even if he puts 200 hours into the game we might see some of the same issue brought up in the previous review... |

Well, today I acctualy didnt get up an look at eve mon for the first time, I just canceled my sub yesterday, I find I do that every other month with eve, play a month, quit for a month or two, than pick it up again for a month or two, than drop it again for the same period of time. As much as I like EVE, there is something about it that cant keep me subscribed for lengthy periods of time. |

Is it wrong for Tasos to stand up for his company, his work, and himself?
General Discussion « Darkfall 5/08/09 11:19:39 AM
I love how everyone here is applauding his unprofessional behavior. In all my years playing MMO's ive never seen a developer or company lash out at a review, even if it was poorly done. This just shows a lack of maturity on Tasos part, thou im not sure why anyone is suprised by this. This man has acted like a spoiled child for the majority of Darkfalls development period. |
