I agree, EVE needs to add visual ship customization - think of custom decals.

Oh, and the reason you play is to kick the shit out of other people so bad that they quit logging in even though they paid for a 3 month sub.

Now I would be acting like a Republican if I only complained without giving alternatives or new ideas so here you go..

I think you took the liberal / Democratic way and just went with being a complete trollFAIL.

How about maybe because their boss wants to continue to have a profitable company so he doesn't have to lay off more people and have the business completely fail due to insolvency? What a dumbass thing of you to say.

Personally, I don't see why the post articles like these done by "asshats". I guess everything goes downhill after a while.

Why would I pay $15 a month just so I could pay $10 for a small amount of "new" content? I pay a monthly fee for content updates among other things, this should be included, or the monthly fee should be dropped.

Only one word is coming to mind... pathetic.

I let my sub run out. For many reasons..

Funny aint it? Hahaha....

I don't have a whole lot of time, so I can't address all of your weak points, but I will address the multi-boxing one, even though I have recently let my sub run out and I have only ever played one character at a time. The OP claims multi-boxing is "buying an advantage", but it takes a lot more "micro" skill and attention to fly 4 ships at once. So while it may provide some advantages, it also provides the disadvantage of having to manage four seperate characters at the same time, which I imagine could get hectic, especially if your characters are doing different, equally important tasks. (That point smashed to bits). On another note.. I voted with my wallet and kept it closed when the sub expiration got close. I haven't played for an extremely long time any way.

I read threads on this site on how F2P is a savior , how more wrong could you get? Again , the short term will seem to be great , but if you can't keep up with the crowd gathering equipement / crafting mats, your screwed. If you can't manage a 10$ a month for a sub , do everyone a favor and go play on private servers so we can actually stop having junk after junk being released.

F2P aka P2W ,is crap. A good way on sending our cash to Asia to grow their economy and sink ours. Just a thought. Most F2P are published by Asia , if not all. You know Torchlight 2 which is being worked on by ex members of Blizzard North? The game will be published by a asian company. Just a simple example.

F2P is destroying the genre , the reason why people say Star wars the old republic will suck is because of all the damn F2Ps being released , people look at SWtor and look at all the F2Ps and tell themselves : " I really don't see much of a difference "      The MMORPG market has become a huge Dollarama for cheap games with the same graphics, same game play , same grind , same mobs , same of all. Which has saturated the genre to a point where no one is bothering on playing anymore.

It's funny how all this is caused by a cash shop , once people start buying off cash shops , it sends flags to Asian devs to release more and more of the same. Which fills up the Asian Pubs bank accounts , which allows them to release more junk , while our awesome P2P games are struggling because they need to go the cheap way and give everything to everyone now , which in the end ruins the economy , the community and in the end , the game itself.

Anyways , I've had fun with the genre , alot of good memories back in the 90's until about 2003. Had a few good moments worth remembering in EVE, AoC , LoTRO. Other then that , R.I.P MMORPG , the genre.  I now call it P2WNPG  as in  Pay to win Non playable game.

The P2P saviour article was in the "Devil's Advocate" tradition. You seemed to have missed that. I agree on some of the points you made, especially about human nature and advantage. you lost me totally when you began your rant on the actions of the Anti-West Asian F2P cabal.  Any good points you have are obscured by the obvious issues you have with the East.

I tend to agree with the OP. He didn't lose me, and I understand what he was getting at. He doesn't want his economy or country to fail (albeit he is probaby tieing the future into video games a bit much)."The East" acts the same. I don't seen any "issues" with that. On another note, down with cash shops.

"The opinions and views expressed in Fearless are just that; opinions and views. They are not CCP policy nor are they a reliable source of CCP views as a company."

Gem : "While it‘s perfectly fine to disagree and attack CCP over policies or actions we take. . ."

Which is it... is it a policy or not? I smell a stinking pile of ****.

"It can also be incredibly frustrating for especially foreign employees to attempt to advance internally in the company, as there seems to be a resistance to hiring any non-Icelandic speaking people into management positions."

In America, employers are called racists if this type of behaviour is permitted. hahaha...

No my friend, some people just have the money... 25$ is like 15 min work for me... so what, when I want a pony I buy one :-)

Whos the real life looser ? The one that buys the pony or the one who cant affort it ?

The one who supposedly makes at least $100 an hour, but can't spell for shite, and then spends $25 on a virtual pony. That's the real life "looser".

I've never played EVE for more than an hour. I wanted to check out the captain's quarters stuff... Wow... is it pretty.  That "big screen tv" looks really cool.

If CCP manages to make enough entertaining things to do inside their space stations, man, its going to be pretty darn fun.

Only complaint I have is that walking controls was frustrating.

Edit: I take that back, I still hate the size 6 font that the game uses. Its painful to try to read that....

The very worst part of EVE is you have to be Superman to read anything because the font is so tiny! There is rumours that they're working on this, but I'd really like to see something concrete. I also really hate it how EVE vets pooh-pooh anyone who points out that the font is the smallest thing ever, as if people who don't have super human sight are just whiny little babies.

Aye, I don't care what anyone says, I have 20/20 vision and the font is just too damn small at 1080p. I too have heard they are working on allowing more customization (and hopefully the option to increase the font size to something decent) using the new CarbonUI. I think the Captain Quarters is very cool, but I don't think it would make me sub for another month yet or anything like that.

For the reviewer i must say please do not encourage people to build wizard/paladins. While you might feel that it is your time and money, which is fine if you solo, do not start whining when high level groups do not take you because your level split makes you a bad caster, bad fighter and bad character. Even a great player can build a character that is not much use.

You do not have to follow the "munchkin" group, oddly 5+ years of DDo and I never heard them refered that way let alone to the amount you claim they are. Might be a server specific term. But you should never tell people to build horrible characters that do waste that persons time and money.

In my view, he wasn't encouraging people to make a wizard/paldin, but rather, he was encouraging people to play what is fun for them, instead of playing what other people tell them is "good". Personally, I don't make my character to be useful to other players or their party; I make it for me to have fun (which can indeed include being useful). Of course, if you are constantly dying, being slain by monsters, and/or being refused from a group because you don't have the class and skills a party wants then you may not have much fun. You claim one does not have to follow the "munchkin" group (I've never heard that word either, but I'm also no DDO vet) , but then you essentially state that unless they do, they will not be joining your group with their "bad character". It seems the reviewers point holds true. I think the review was solid, as I think DDO is solid.

Green-Widow said "the best character builds are on the forum" , and that's great, but I like to play the game for myself, deciding on what is the most fun for me, which may not exactly be "the best" build. However, I do agree that one should probably do a little bit of reading about how to build a solid character; I just don't think they should be given an entire build and told what to do. Overall, a good, seemingly accurate review.

Do you run missions?
Do you involve yourself with other npc corps/factions (traveling in their space, missioning, high-sec POS, station services, etc)?
Do you like knowing how dealing with one npc corp/faction will affect others?

Because now you can't!

The latest patch also removed the ability to lookup relationships between npc corps and factions. You are blind now when it comes to knowing where your standings are going to end up.

I can't help but wonder if this is something that CCP didn't think through..

True, but why would anybody accept an unfamiliar mission without checking it out here first?

They might accept a mission without looking it up on the interent because they want a little surprise... a little adventure.. hell, maybe a little excitement. Not everyone likes to know exactly who or what they are going to fight before they go into it. You know.. "playing the game like it's supposed to be". I, for one, have never been one to use "strategy guide" type things. I like to figure things out for myself.

I figured I would go ahead and confirm -- as others have already -- that these codes give you a whole extra month of game time, not just 15 days. Of course, your account has to have been inactive for 90 days. I just used one for myself to reactivate and it gave an extra 30 days. Happy hunting!!

Here are some additional codes for 30 DAYS FREE GAME TIME when you reactivate:

QJPW-Q9A3-G2BZ-CUJH-6GEX

QLQH-WMY9-JWPC-L3EP-CBT2

I've been inactive for quite some months, but I've been waiting for something like this. Here we go!

The end came before there was ever a real beginning. Such a shame. But such is the market.

Wow (no pun intended) I'm sure Activision Blizzard likes to see this on the front page of mmorpg.com I only played Rift in the beta, so I don't have a whole lot to say about it. But what I will say is that it seems like the reviewer doesn't like MMORPG's.. at least the "classic" version of them. (Maybe he likes something like DCU haha...) And sure, I hate the stale, stagnant, grindy feel of some MMO's too. But it's like cool.. all of the things he pointed out wrong with Rift could apply to WOW; although, I certainly understand the article was about Rift; not World of Warcraft. And he said he doesn't like the themepark aspect of a themepark MMO ir "lifeless" questing that is a part of any MMO. Great... Such a good article...
