It's important to realize that a life-time subscription does not mean a subcription for your life-time but for the game's life-time... Let's hope it lasts longer than Tabula Rasa.

Yes I have been usubbed for a couple months now but in the 6 months or so that I played Warhammer Online I don't remember crashing to desktop... upgrade your crappy cpu gear... k thx

Damn, reading some of these beginning posts really makes me see why I havent been on here in a while. Sorry guys.

Other than that it seems like AION is the game WAR should have been. Too bad it has that weird Anime style, really hate that and probably the main reason why I wont like the game.

Gotta admit the anime thiing is a turn off for me too. I really do not want to be this guy:

Gotta cringe every time some Caucasian talks about something being "too 'Anime"

'Anime' refers to Japanese animation, and it consists many different visual styles, from Dragonball to Witch Hunter Robin. It wouldn't bug me as much if specific artists or studios were mentioned, but people tend to generalise too much.

Saying Aion is too 'Anime' is like saying Warcraft is too 'Disney'. Actually AION is not anime at all. It's much closer to Guildwars and I aint heard that called anime. And one thing is for sure the graphics are way ahead of Warhammer, Chronicles of Spellborn or AoC. There is huge diversity of charcter creation in Aion. The character creation system uses slider values similar to the one used in Oblivion. You can create a character that looks like Gandalf or Aragorn if you like.

There are 20+ premade faces but each face can be manipulated. Eye shape, eye height, nose shape, nose height, nose protrusion, ear shape, lip shape, jaw shape. The list goes on and on. So you could start with an anime charcter and turn it into anything you want. If your fancy takes you, you can make Barak Obama with angel wings!

Are these AION images anime?

Get over it... the guy looks gay as hell, and he does have an anime look to him. It's nice to see that you automatically assume he/she is caucasian as well.

Here are a few reasons why AION is the best option for EX DAoC Veterans. Been playing on the Chinese server (with English language patch) and this game is immense. Reached Level 38 with a Gladiator and have a Level 22 Cleric. Ignore all those who say its a PVE grind. This simply is untrue.

(1) AION has a RA system like DAoC. With passive stat boni as well as powerful abilities on timers. People get a real sense that their characters grow stronger through RvR. You can save up Abyss Points gained from RvR kills for uber gear.

(2) There is no PvE grind for gear and AION has DAoC-style crafting, and spellcrafting. You can craft or gain RVR reward gear for the "ultimate" template based on a mix of crafted and RVR earned gear.In AION there is real crafting. Armorcrafting, weaponcrafting with secondary skills like woodcrafting that allows you to reinforce keep doors and repair them.

(3) AION has 'The Rift' is in-game PVP dungeon that is very similar to Darkness Falls.

(4) The layout and size of the "inner keeps" is very similar to the keeps in DAoC RvR zones and BGs.

(5) AION has 6x6 combat - this rules. It is possible for strong but differentially balanced 6 man groups (e.g  tank groups or mage groups) to take out 16 man and even 24 man groups.

(6) RvR End game is immense, offering all kind of merit, status and rewards for individuals, clans and realms.

(7) CC is smart but not overwhelming and can be dealt with by good healers and other classes.

(8) Like DAoC, AION is extremely elitist.

(9) Unlike DAoC you can RvR in-flight mode, liked a Winged Angel or a Demon :)

Pure genius. You can fight in the air... unlike DAOC... It's elitist... unlike DAOC... 6 man groups... unlike DAOC... No PVE grind for gear (Trials of Atlantis anyone...)... unlike DAOC.

Decent looking box art.

In short - No.....

Yeah I would seriously give this game a shot if it had some pvp and not so many whiney anti-pvp carebears.

^^^
Thank you, deathtripp, for demonstrating another reason why I hope FFXIV will keep any PvP content to a limited, consensual format as they do in FFXI. Fewer people with attitudes like yours infesting the community and dragging it down.

FFXI's done great with the limited PvP it has in Brenner and Ballista. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

The Final Fantasy games are, by their nature, cooperative games. SE carried on that trend with FFXI, and hopefully they'll continue it with FFXIV.

There are plenty of PvP MMOs out there to play. I enjoy PvP myself and am playing Lineage 2 at the moment.. I love the open PvP environment, the sieges, the clan-wars, the politics and all that goes with it... but that's because Lineage 2 was built with PvP conflict in mind.

When I want PvP, I play a PvP MMO. I don't look for a PvE MMO and then complain that it doesn't have PvP. Likewise, when I want PvE, I play a PvE MMO... I don't go to a PvP MMO and then complain that it doesn't have enough PvE content.

What do you mean attitudes like mine??? People that like PVP?? I just feel like having no PVP at all is baseless. I want to test my skill against other players if i CHOOSE to. Sorry if you don't like it mate... You know what they say. If you got a problem...well it's your f****** problem.

Yeah I would seriously give this game a shot if it had some pvp and not so many whiney anti-pvp carebears.

35 PAGES now of ongoing negative feedback about the unwanted PVP revamp in Issue 13, and a lot of us have quit and can't even post there anymore.

We tried to tell them, we really did.  People with teleport can't teleport?  That's nuts.  Superjumpers can't superjump?  Crazy.  Those with superspeed can't run superfast?  Healers have their healing borked for themselves and others by diminishing returns?  Launching an attack glues you in place?  Asking for input from your PvP players and then almost completely ignoring it in favour of a sweeping, unwanted revamp?  Oi vey.

I don't know anything about these revamps but the revamps you are talking about do sound like utter shite.

Hold up, wait, hold up wait! So you think Blizzard can balance classes like Wows classes better than Biowares balancing in Baulders gate? Hmm I think not. Bioware is the best RPG game company hands down now they are going to take that and make it massive. MMORPG? Hmm ok so you are saying...what?

No one ever said class balancing in WOW is better than in Baulder's gate.. So think about what you say before you try to put words into a person's mouth. Blizzard was regarded as one of the best RPG game companies with their Diablo and Diablo II as well. They made an MMORPG. 'Shite. Hmm ok so you are saying...what?

Talking about

Left 4 Dead 2 announcement at E3.

Basically Valve sold original L4D - a very content limited , unfinished and still experimental game - for 50$

Under false pretense that they will continue supporting it with new maps, weapons, game mods and gameplay tweaks.
Same as they did with Counter Strike, DOD, TF2 ...

But in fact (which is now shockingly revealed) Valve started to make L4D2 in same moment they released L4D1.So instead of working on fixing the just released game, they immidiately started planning to sell the FIXED game as NEW game.

Now this policy is not unheared of. Actually is something many gaming companies practice...

Like EA for example.

But these gaming companies arent exactly loved...

And here is Valve joining the club...

Oh so you're pissed off because you payed $50 bucks for a shitty game. Tough luck man.

No one cares if you think the game will fail dude.

Although we must say... the trailers are almost ALWAYS better than the actual game. Think Warhammer. - And that's not to say WAR is a bad game in the least. haha

I'm not a Star Wars freak/nerd or even a big fan, and I have no idea who that fucking sith guy was, but that shit was EPIC. hahahaha

Did the same darkart... but where's the download??

Well, if I made a list of all-time games a person should try, this sad game would not be on that list. That's for sure.

Axishtr, I tryed this game probably about a year ago and it was complete and utter shite. The graphics are TRASH aka GARBAGE and the game just really sucked. I would leave this piece of crap and try to find something better...

Sweet - I'll be back for this one I think.

Warhammer is not only poor in game design but also poor in marketing. In order to compete or make survival in Korean market they are selling Item Mall which I think was very stupid. Before they gain a standing point in Korean market, they have lose certain reputation as well as credibility. Who will know Warhammer in USA/Europe will turned out to be a Item Mall game after a period of time?

People in USA/Europe must be stupid to pay to play Warhammer since this game wasn't worthy to pay monthly fee. The future trend of the game maybe all targeting to Item mall business. It is highly probability because all class armors turned out to be the same in Warhammer, at lv40, you will see everyone have exactly the same armors in your class.

This lies unstable credit between the game and customers.

For instance, IPhone was good mobile phone but they never sell any good in Japan because only 1% Japanese likes IPhone, the majority prefered to use Japanese made mobile phone.

The same redult will happened to Warhammer because there are just too many F2Ps in Korea and every F2P is local made and they knew how to keep Korean players. Besides, Korean already have much headache with their Northern brothers so this kind of ganking game may not be welcome by Koreans. EA/Mythic gonna paid back the money they have earned from us.

No wonder people like to buy brand name products or play brand name games.

Your obvious lack of understanding about this game, and probably most others given your opinions in other posts, is evidenced by your identifying WAR as a "ganker's game".

While WAR is indeed a PvP-centric game, it is not a ganker's or griefer's game, simply by the way it is structured.  Even Open servers control a player's ability to "gank" another, especially lowbie ganking.

Sorry, but your bias, and lack of fundamental comprehension, are showing.

Don't you mean is?? hahaha this article looks bogus, not to mention that would require major game rule changes  and having your game pay to play but f2p somewhere else is unheard of to me.
