Some of you folks are truly a curiosity, the level of stupidity expressed in some of these posts is shear entertainment. SWTOR is already in the black, the 1.3 million subs is pretty good incentive for them to continue working on the game. And all the suggestions of shutting it down are laughable, I think the game needs more sandbox like content at endgame to be better once the personal stories run out , but the statements in here are rediculous. They have alot they can do to improve this game, no question but get real with the "Guild Wars 2 is the final nail" and "they are gona have to go F2P", maybe later this year if they cant get the needed content in, but right now it's making alot of money for Bioware. |

Originally posted by SuperDonk Yep that's exactly right, it's confirmed that the over one million subscribers are being dumped and the game shut down. Lucas Arts said and I quote "SWTOR had no right to murder SWG and steal the subscriptions they had, it's time we corrected that error" end quote.....see the little quote marks? that means it's for realz. The new game will have dynamic quest events, no endgame and open world pvp, they are calling it "Star Guild Wars 2 the Old Galaxies Non NGE Pre CU Republic". |

Why I'm outraged and Why you should be too
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/26/12 6:51:21 PM
I beta tested SWTOR for many months before release, I still play the game and am glad I bought it. I dont hate Bioware, I dont care about EA, I dont play anyone elses style or follow a plan or make decissions based on goofballs stuffing garbage into forums. I would rather focus on what I enjoy in the game, support what has been done that I like as much as I can, try and add positive feedback and suggestions to Bioware in their efforts to improve the game. I think it's fair to say in any theme park game that there should be a robust endgame, I dont think it's fair or even sane to post hyberbole and overblown tripe in ignorant hatred of a game. If companies shut down every game that didn't launch with group finder, more than 4 battlefields, a publisher that was disliked or a game that wasn't absolutely free, there would be nothing to play. There is alot that I like about SWTOR, there are things I would like to see added, fixed and or removed, but I am going to keep playing based off my feelings towards the game not some one elses outrage. |

Swtor Adding Mega Server Technology

If you have never played the game or no longer intend to play the game, how could it possibly matter if others do. |

Originally posted by jaywikid Mmorpg stands for massively multiplayer online roll playing game, you need an mmofps site. I think the closest thing around here is Planetside 2, but it's still in developement and it will have a subscription fee. |

Oh that clears it up, but are you willing to "pay server time to play" |

I'm sure Funcom or as you put it "the developers of AO" will jump through the welfare hoop to help all you Freebs. |

Discussion? this is a post about the celebration of such an amazing triumph in the gaming world. I can physically not wait until this game releases, the old game I play has failed and I guess it's being shut down or the devs are being executed or something, there is a post about it here somewhere. Anyway, now I have lots of time to review this one and report on all it's perfect and amazing content, flawless release and countless subscriptions. |

In Guild Wars 2 the NPC's run up to you and yell "help me centaurs are attacking my farm". In WoW you run up to the NPC's and they yell "help me dragonkin are attacking my farm". Finally the breakthrough to the next level of gaming has arrived. |

SWTOR is dead, sleeping with the rest of the lot

Originally posted by Torgrim Dead and sleeping? if they consolidate the 122 servers in half, it will be more than most games will ever hope to have. Between the overblown hyperbole and the chicken littles running around crying the sky is falling, it's a wonder anyone takes anything seriously here anymore. Most of the claimed oracles who forsaw the games doom, said it would fail before launch and then like the Millerites trying to fortell the end of the world, they just kept pushing the date back hoping they'd finally be right. Mmorpg members may well be the worst place to try and get an accurate, unbiased account of a games appeal. Most of these people dont even play a game, well other than making the rounds through the forums to spew about everyone elses. |

SWTOR is dead because of arrogant, clueless lead devs

Originally posted by badclown That's because back when the site opened the content was much smaller, better but smaller. I agree with you that the unwarented negativity here has little to do with fact, and more to do with sensationalism. I dont haunt the forums of the games I dont care for but I dont have time either, some of the shut ins with a million post count and a start date of yesterday have nothing else. |

It's the players not the game
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 4/03/12 11:28:10 AM
Well said, it's gradual and insidious but over time everything is becoming twitch online. The devolpers cant focus and we end up with less than what any of us actualy want. I know I'm in the right place because I like rpg's and online rpg's even more so. Sadly I agree with one of the other posters who made the point that the game would be better without any pvp at all. I still have stories to go through, planets to quest on and explore and a multitude of things to do, pvp isn't at the top of my list. |
