15 a monthly is the killing point beside the lack of content since the game is supposedly cater for casual .should have made it buy to play within a decent pricing range.or just make it f2p with cash items.

i like the game concept as well.but classless system 7 active and 7 passive slot for skills kinna worries me.have to test the game before i will pay for it due to the skill system.but other then that the rest of the features sound cool :)

i will play a mmo like that if the game world is really huge with lore and storyline and every race is different from one another and not just a change in the artwork.and awesome graphics

i imagine it will be very hard to make a mmo like that,most likely a mud textbased mmo will be more likely.

if they can gank new players while they were watching cutscene when just starting out the game it mean just bad coding and foresight.should have just reported to them to get it fix and test further.

no company will do this intentionally unless they advertise this at the start.pvp server or not.but i think u quit too early since it is just a beta.why not just play on and see how pvp works when u know the game more?

once i played this game i won't be going elsewhere.it is that fun for me :)

why do i like it,i guess firstly the graphics is most impressive i seen for a long time.the rest of the complains from other players about the ui and bugs can all be work out overtime.some of them just wish for people to play later on when those are fixed as the server already laggy enough with present numbers.

i enjoy the leve and storyline campaign as well as the fact it is the best pve based mmo atm which do not force me to hardcore like in most mmo where i am usually one of the top few highest level players.after playing so many pvp mmo which force one to hardcore non stop i think mainly i play ffxiv cos it allow me to take a break from those and just enjoy the game gradually one step at a time.

also i am looking forward to community building once company guild feature is in game.for now i will just log on everyday to enjoy the game with my friends.

my advise is play ff14 only if u enjoy it and do not get affected by the reviews.if possible go get a buddy pass and try it free for 30 days.if u do not like it then just don't play it or come back later on when they fixed most of those ui and bugs issue after a few months :)

add to the fact ffxiv pc version was rush out due to the fans eagerness  to play.

one will need to wait for ps3 version after mar 2011 to make a fair assessment of the game.right now the game is out cos a lot of gamers wanted to play it.but its not fully complete yes.if u do not like ffxiv at its present stage of completion then just don't play it for now and wait till mar next year.

i do not understand why does people like to make bad review thread during open beta.just don't play if u don't like it.the game may not be suitable for u atm.

this game will succeed.no doubt about it in my mind.

but i do think they are rushing it out too fast.

instead they should be keeping the open beta going for 2-3 more months while working on better mouse/gui/drivers before they release it in my view.

just the fact we know SE always update constantly and that FFXI is already 8-9 years and running give me the confidence that FFXIV will be better in the long run.

but it probably wont be smooth at the start.but will confirm get better and better along the way.

i also miss the train for starting ffxi at the beginning and i do not intend to skip it this time around ^^

yes i am aware of the bugs and lack of controls for mouse atm

but i have no games atm to play and i love ff series so i won't mind playing while waiting for them to upgrade the game bit by bit.

thing is if u are those that want everything to run decently at launch it will be best not to play at launch and wait 1-2 months for them to get the game in shape ^^

you kind of forgetting the fun of mmorpg also lays in interacting with fellow players and the guild as a community where people become friends and talk to one another and play together to have fun.u can never find that in a console game and enjoy it for more then a few days of playing at most.

after i play mmorpg i seldom play console games.once u are used to the level of interaction inside a mmo a console does not appeal as much anymore.

its more of finding the right mmo now.and i have high hopes for FFXIV to deliver that.

and Blade & Soul later on ^^

ya best not to expect too much from this.i seriously doubt they will put much effort to fixing the many issue with the game during beta last time since the game basically shut down not long after beta started

lol i was in the beta as well and i recall there were a lot of bugged terrain issue.

but the combat system is pretty nice.but if they were to release it they have a lot of work to do.esp on terrain and quests.and crafting

fantasy earth zero was not managed by square enix.

players wont accept p2p and have cash mail anyway.

more likely p2p and certain features for microtransaction like server switch or costume that can be bought using cash mail for lazy players which also can be acquired by crafting or doing quest in game.

well if u compare to 2009 mmo drought,then 2010 will be a year where mmo will be flooding us with choices.i doubt anyone can test all of them so we need to pick and drop most.

i will pick FFXIV and Blade & Soul.one for pve/community and one for pvp.

might get GW2 as well if it is one time payment buy to play like GW1

Secret World is lacking in gameplay details so i will test it if it allow testing but not commit to buying unless its really good.

as for the rest of the f2p mmos.too many to list but i may play them while waiting for the mmos listed above that i wanted ^^

will test this while waiting for ffxiv.

if its good then i play ffxiv for pve and community gameplay and keep this when i want some pvp action heh

I didn't see "in my opinion" in there.  Because all I see is a bunch of opinions.  

1.) The community on my server is awesome.  You can't see every servers' community so saying that its is not friendly is only based on your experience with your server.

2.) You only waste time waiting for groups if you want specific classes in your group.  The other day we ran Fire Temple with 2 chanters, a templar and a ranger. 

3.) Traveling in the abyss is not always slow depending on what your faction owns in the area.  Most times you can teleport around. Also if you have flight serums you can fly longer. Some teleports can cost more than others but its a drop in the bucket.

4.) The game has only been out for 3-4 monthes.  We had a Halloween event and a Christmas event.  Plus they added Vet rewards.  What more do you want?

5.) last time I check the servers are still pretty fat.  There were a lot of people who quit but that is to be expected.  Not everyone will like the same game.  But at least have fact and be honest when you post.  I can take peoples opinion but not when they just make stuff up.

 

1.community in your server is awesome does not mean its good in mine.anyway i was talking about the community features.the lacking of them not the attitude of the community population itself.

there are too many for me to list and since i already quit i don't want to type too long winded.

some of the lacking feature in my view is the lack of features like ranking in legion as well as the number of players allow in legion.

also the legion storage is not very flexible as well as only those in the higher ranks can deposit items and view them if allowed by leader.they should allow for certain ranks to be able to deposit stuff as well as view stuff for legion storage.

the mailbox in game is really terrible.they should really give players a select box and delete all option with the numbers of mail a person can get in game.

another issue is lacking in gm support regards to bots as well as poor end game feature such as fortress war which should be instanced and limited to certain number of players for each side to make up for more fun and less dc and lag,there are quite a few more issue but it all bring me to say aion is not community friendly as in the legion community inside does not last long if u compare to other mmos.

i talking about high lvl dungeon instance pass lvl 40-50...not low lvl ones like fire temple.suffice to say in higher lvl u need a sorc to do cc.a templar for tanking.a cleric for heal and best have a chanter as well(though chanter is not 100% a must).after u get all those classes u leave very little choice for other classes.other mmo usually only required a tanker and healer,the rest can be made up of all the other classes giving more flexibility to teaming.in aion the req classes already took up 3 or more slots already.giving the rest not much choices.this is also one of the lacking in community feature i was talking about.not friendly at all.

3.not gonna say u are wrong here,i am just saying i dont like flight timing in abyss myself.and the cost of buying serum as well as for teleport is not something i will say cheap.

4.those event u were saying is all automated in game.i was saying event where gm took a active role inside.and the amount of boting also prove to show the gms is very lazy.at many times u cant find a gm in game even though ppl is spamming or when u wish to report something.

5.that why i did not say aion is dead hehe...servers still fairly active i agreed..afterall its only been a few months.

it is just finished for me and many of those i know.and if ncsoft dare to publish the info of the amount of ppl who started playing and the amount of people who is still in game u will probably agreed with me many have already left.

 

and i did not make stuff up hehe u are just bias lol...i did play in aion and my legion got to rank 2-3 in the starting first to second month.
