The concept of hardcore is utterly ridiculous to me.

Before I get started, I'll say it, I Used to be a hardcore MMO'er. Two years, down the tubes, nothing but gaming, all the time.

Then I got a life.

I still enjoy MMO's for the simple reason that it's a game you can never beat, thus you get to spend much more time playing and enjoying your self progression then any console game.

With that said, it absolutely slays me that people want to be rewarded for NOT having a life.

"I choose to spend every waking moment I have in your game instead of real life, thus you should treat me better then someone who spends less time here!"

HONESTLY! Why would you EVER be rewarded for neglecting REAL LIFE?! If anything you should be punished!

Now, there are some very touching stories about people with handicaps getting to experience SOME kind of life through MMO's, I'm sympathetic to that.

But unless you have a better reason then "I'm overweight" or "I suffer from social anxiety" I really don't think you should be catered too.

At best you should be pitied.

I would comment, but I find that almost anytime I discover someone being immature ingame and point it out, shortly there after said person informs me they are six foot five, two hundred and eighty pounds, and black belts in multiple martial arts.

And I just can't take that risk!

This is probably a retarded question (as most of my questions tend to be) but I am curious.

I just preordered AOC this morning. Yes, I know, took my sweet time. I was waiting for more information about performance before I finally made up my mnd. (Yes, I am still bitter about Vanguard, so I waited till the last possible minute)

So, I preordered through best buy.  Yeah, I want the war rhino. Who wouldn't?

Now, for the three day early bit, how do I get into that? Will I get an email with a code to go somewhere? Or how does it work?

I'm honestly astounded at the number of people complaining about the possibility of a grind in the mini games.

Let's seriously step back and stand aside from the mentality. Everyone complaining wants open world pvp because of why? It's FUN! Not for experience points, or gear upgrades, but because it is FUN.

I have easily seen hundreds of people here saying "I want to do open world PVP! But I can't because all the exp and goods are going to be from mini game grinding so no one else will do world PVP!"

It SEEMS what you REALLY mean to say is "While I am saying I want to do open world pvp for fun, I acknowledge the real EXP will be in mini games, so I am going to go back on my own love of the game and do the mini games just like everyone else for the best loot, then come complain on the forums about it!"

Last I checked, no one is forcing anyone to do mini games OR open world pvp. The COMMUNITY decides what becomes more popular. So instead of whining to Funcom about how they should force players to play the way the cry babies on the forums want to play, how about the cry babies on the forums actually talk to the community (Which in the end will decide all manners of pvp, since you can't have Player VS Player without the PLAYERS) and get the Open World PvP going on their own?

The whole bloody argument is just people who don't want to do minigames crying because they're going to do minigames anyways. Just don't do the bloody things and actually get people INTO open world PVP.

God knows, if I attacked the baby cows in Mulgore enough, sooner or later, a group of people would swat me away.

Forgive me, I'm not entirely computer savy. I got this computer as a wedding gift recently, and am curious if it will run conan or not. If not, what would I need to upgrade?

Seriously, Have you been to the mall within the last year or so? I've never been to a more MMO type environment.

When I arrive, I park my mount only to see some lady park her epic mount in a nicer spot.

When I get inside, I am ignored by the majority of the community because some dude in infinately nicer gear then me walks by.

When I'm at the stores, I pay an ungodly amount for low quality crap I could easily get for cheaper on the AH. (or ebay, what eva)

I walk into the food court and get accosted by NPC's that are all stereotypes representing their race.

90% of the stores carry crap I'll never need, and I have to search for an hour before I find the one item I came for.

If you sit in one area and harrass people long enough, pvp will ensue.

If you attempt to envoke pvp on your own, you get swarmed by guards.

The vast majority of the people around you are about 12 and talk like they're 25.

And where I live, a crap ton of the people you THINK are girls, are really just emo guys.

You actually use the river?!!? Head up to the lake next to the undercity. Turtles galore.

I hate to point out the obvious, But go ride a bike. Play some frisbee. Hell, try out Golf. This is one of the saddest outcries for Ettention I've ever seen.
