I think my biggest gripe with the game is actually the community. My chief #1 annoyance is the common misuse of the term "Hardcore".

There's a difference between being "Hardcore" and enjoying grinding.

The community basically considers themself "Hardcore" because they grind.

From my experience, there's a difference between being hardcore and masochistic.

All I know is when I saw this article before I read another word I went straight to #1 and it better be...Ahhh there she blows in all her glory!

Yep, ok now I can read the whole thing knowing this wont going to end up LIES.

I understand people want those of us to forget about the NGE debacle but in the earnest measurement of Khan...

"No...no, you can't get away...from hell's heart, I stab at thee...for hate's sake, I spit my last breath...at thee..."

The debate doesn't interest me too much. I'm just genuinely concerned this guy thinks Khan is who he's quoting. Which kind of completely ruins the quote if he believes that.

I figured out how to set up the WASD movement, so I guess I'm getting somewhere. But I only have two abilities thus far on my hotbar. Attack and Power Strike. That isn't my problem, my problem is that, when I hit the corresponding keys, (1 and 2) nothing happens. But If I click on the abilities they work. This is a real annoyance for me. What's the obvious simple fix I'm just missing here?

I would really like to try out this game before I buy it.

Thanks in advance!!!

The problem here is that the OP has no idea what he's talking. Everything he has said is based on complete fantasy made up in his head. So much so that it almost seems like he's been put up to it.

But most of his opinions are so stupid I can't imagine that anyone with a brain would put him up to it.

Honestly, 500k Subscribers and thats NOT succesful?! What are you? The Monopoly guy?

FFXI was my first MMO. It was the only MMO I've ever played where I've really gotten into my character. Being a Dragoon was the coolest thing I've ever done in any game. I loved the combat with groups. It was exciting to get a perma group to exp with several nights a week. Especially on the good nights.

I just don't have the time to commit to that anymore. Wish I did. I'd love to take up my lance with Gizmo at my side again.

Hopefully with 14... I can do that again.

My favorite class of any game is definately the Dragoon from FFXI.

I would give anything to have a melee class, with a pet dragon, that evolves and grows as you level in a new MMO.

Doesn't seem likely, but God I loved that class.

God knows it doesnt help. If you cast an ability, you automatically turn and face what ever it is you are casting it on.

But yeah, you can always tell the WoW diehards in a scenario.

I'm going to reiterate this, just because it was the first thing to pop into my head too.

Dune!!

I would also love to see Salvatore's work get its own MMO. Have him right for it and everything.

There are two current Euro servers that run high/high everytime I log in. Don't know if that helps you any, but I know theyre there.

All the complaints right now will either die down, or be adjusted to. With new classes being introduced, did you really think the game would stay exactly the same as before? of course not. So honestly, if you run into a group of 3+ choppas, you really deserve to die. You obviously aren't going to survive. Even on my slayer, I wait for the choppas to run by, then I rush in after the squishies to do my dirty work.

Thats like a melee DPS running in on a tank and complaining that you cant kill him easily enough. Sometimes you need to learn to ignore the tank and kill what you are made to kill.

I just resubbed. I started as a Black Orc. Got to 36 and got bored with how long it took to level.

I just came back now as a Dwarf Slayer and homg am I having fun.

I voted Tank, simply because our class is THE most overlooked in RVR combat. EQ2 started on the right path with their "added in" pvp by allowing taunt to change targets of enemy players it's used on. Also, another worthy mention would have to be how DAOC did with tank's and battlemaster. Being able to protect someone COMPLETELY from melee combat until the tank is killed, whom can't move, was a very good mechanic.

Other than that, most RVR tactics involve ignoring tanks until the Healing, then DPS is killed. Tanks end up dieing last without having helped much at all besides harassing enemy healers :(.

Not to get too Nitpicky, but I believe Final Fantasty Online was doing the taunt mechanism before EQ2.

I would love it if taunt worked like that in every game. Being forced to target a tank is a hell of an ability.

Disagree. I play constant Scenario's, (as I love to pvp).

Play enough and you can figure out the good players from the bad. I make several friends this way. You can also just weed that out and PVE for a while. You meet tons of people if you just go out and quest. PQ's especially are an excellent way of doing this.

I'm not sure what down time you are hoping for. I think what you mean to say is, You don't want to stop PVP'ing constantly and bother to get to know the people around you. It's like crack man, just because it's there, doesn't mean you have to do it all the time.

Chill out for a bit and take the game a bit slower. Even if all you do is create scenario premades in regional, it's a great way to get to know folks.

They aren't doing merges. Theyre allowing free transfers. Theyre going through the low pop servers and allowing transfers to the high pop. Ones you are on prolly havent gotten around to yet.

The high volume servers are a ton of fun though. And leveling in War is great.

Just food for though. I have a 36 BO on a dead server from when I started. I decided to reroll Order and haven't regretted it at all.

I honestly think WAR is the most fun game out there for LEVELING. The options to PVP/PVE/RVR all to gain EXP and level makes the leveling the most fun out of any game out there. As far as the end game, could use more work. But I love to level toons, and this game really keeps me going for that alone.

Heh, Not with you on that one. All the races sometimes come back with a verbal stream when they get hit from time to time.

Always makes me laugh when my dwarf gets hit and he calls the MOB a bastard.

No offense hoss, But they are still right about the release. Until it happens, There is no release.

You should probably be putting in theory, and hypothetically at the end of all of your sentences. Because Until it does come out.... In theory..... It can't be as hypothetically amazing as you keep spouting. Quit drinking the kool aid for five seconds and try to put things in perspective.

I have literally a less then one year old rig. It ran Age Of Conan on high flawlessly. (Or as much as the game allowed) Same with LOTRO, Very High, no lag what so ever.

But in Warhammer, about once a minute or so, my game just lags and freezes for 2-5 seconds and gets slightly choppy. I can't figure out why. Here are my settings:

Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (
System Manufacturer: Gateway
System Model: GT5670
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 8400 Triple-Core Processor (3 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory: 3070MB RAM
Page File: 1874MB used, 4505MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 10
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT

Display Memory: 1756 MB
Dedicated Memory: 477 MB
Shared Memory: 1279 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)

So what am I doing wrong here? I've tried it on every setting and I can't figure out why I am getting such poor perfomance.

Help! I am not too great with computer specifics ><

I've read so many annoyingly negative posts that I thought I'd pipe up. Granted, I don't have as many posts as most of the folks here, but I hope we can all look past that and take some merit in my opinion anyways.

I am having a blast. It is a nice refreshing change for me, and quite frankly I dig it. I have my concerns just like everyone else, but I am having a fantastic time.

First off, I have played just about every MMO to date. Granted, I haven't been around since the early days, and my first MMO was the Masochist Party that is FFXI, but I've been around. So here's where I stand.

I play a Black Orc. Not just a Black Orc, but a Brawler Black Orc. I am a big tough bastard and I genuinely enjoy knocking people around with no remorse or regret. I shout WAAAAGH before I charge into battle, and I spam my /cheer emotes constantly just to hear the OI OI OI. I am rank 30 and RR 25.

I have my gripes of course. There are many glitches which annoy the Hell out of me, but they appear to be very on the ball of fixing. My first was the Mob Pathing. I've tried both the Squig Herder and the White Lion, and couldn't do either for long because of how annoying it was to send your pet in, have it glitch, then not be able to hit the Mob what so ever because of out of range glitches. It was especially annoying on the white lion because most of your good attacks are Positional.

This they claim to fix today. So I forgive.

Other small stuff annoys me. I have Four hot bars. When I relog they have all switched abilities. Everytime I zone, my cloak reapears, even if I have it turned off.

As I said, Small stuff.

But for the rest, I love it. I can Level completely by PVP. This brings me extreme joy, for there is nothing more satisfying then crushing someone's skull with my big choppa.

The public quests (When others are doing them) are exciting. Even if no one else is, the grind to get to Elite isn't so crappy that I get flustered, and the rewards are genuinely fantastic. (And if they aren't, I got two other chapters to check out to see if they are)

Granted, End Game is gonna have to be sweet to keep me excited, but as of right now, I am having a really good time.

I think the issue is, the MMO crowd is very jaded and bitter. I'm not sure if a perfect game will ever come out. But if we find one little thing wrong with it, we all flip and spam posts.

And then I look at the whole problem and go.... Man, a community based on hypothetical video games.

Folks, we need to get out more.

The issue is not that Blizzard is "Doing" something about it. The issue is the Blizzard takes their sweet time to  "Do" something about it. Just like everything else Blizzard does, they spend months discussing anything before they decide to make a change. Spammers can go for ages before they do anything.

Mythic's more aggressive approach is infinitely more refreshing.

My only sadness is, the gold spammers themselves don't get to share in their own humiliation. I do like the hanging them in the gallows concept for all time.
