Not being able to group i think has more to do with people in your kinship not being very social.

Either way, we just went back to lotro and most of us are lvl 30-35 right now, you are welcome to join us ;)

In february many of us will try STO

http://www.gunbad.com

This indicates that the game was getting as much as 150,000 concurrent users in those markets."

that made me lol

{mod edit}

On the topic : Try Champions Online.

Brotherhood of Gunbad is calling on all crusties

All of our members are log time mmorpg players who played most of the pay-to-play mmorpgs. Our average age is about 35/40. We have been playing most recent mmorpgs at launch including Warhammer and Champions Online. We are a closely knit group of friends who like to play mmorpgs casually and have a good time with friends while doing it.

- No guilded character limit.
- No forms to fill ( the biggest BS i have ever seen is filling out **** to join a group of people to play games with )
- No Ventrilo requirement.
- No elitism.
- No BS.
- No Trolls ( WARNING : Most of us are grumpy old men who might possibly resemble trolls )
- No Class, level or spec requirements.
- Nobody telling you what to do or how to do it.

What we do have :

- Private Ventrilo server ( for those who do want to use it ).
- Guild portal ( Gunbad.com ).
- Friendly atmosphere.
- Resources of a big and active kinship alliance.
- Friendships for life.
- Great support and guildies willing to help you.
- MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT OF 20

If this sounds like something that would be a good fit for you then check out our website at GUNBAD.COM

Upcoming MMO - Take your pick between Star Trek Online or Star Wars the Old Republic, both outstanding games ;)   I am more interested in Star Trek personally.

New MMO - Champions Online, seriously, you can spend first week in the character creator alone.  Fast paced mmo that will keep you busy.  Orrrrr Fallen Earth if you are looking for an open ended challenge & a more complex mmorpg.

Existing MMO - LotrO is pretty old fashion but jam full packed with content.  Outstanding music, deep story and very beautiful dx10 graphics.

Not sure if this helps but those would be my recommendations.  My guild has chapters in all of those, so if you are also loking for a casual guild to join ( minimum age requirement of 20 )  then check us out, www.gunbad.com

I just love it how I and many other were flamed on this forum for saying that this would happen months before the relase, and now the mmorpg.com new thread ticker on front page is nothing but complaints about Aion.  Wait few more weeks untill people actualy play it for some good ammount of time and realize that they bought a Korean free to play game and paid a sub for it :D

Conincidently I just went back to LotRO two days ago too, on thesame server :D  I went for a fat little Hobbit Warden

Just an update since I try to avoid this forum due to all the trolling and hostility.

- We formed our guild in-game on day 1.

- We upgraded our Vent server to fit everyone, we now have a 50 slot vent.

- We introduced a minimum age requirement of 20 ( while back but as I said I am not here often ).

Here ( http://gunbad.com/index.php/topic,469.0.html ) is the thread on our forums listing all officers with invite priveleges.  Please contact one of them if you are interested in joining.

Awesome game, our group has been in beta for some time now.

Who gives a crap about MTs ?  So you can get a pretty hat or some other bullshit, a potion, xp boost, big freatking deal.  Every single game out there has MTs in addition to monthly fee and nobody makes a big deal out of it.  For gods sake in WoW you can even pay to change your race and class now, it's pathetic.  DDO is going all out MTs, all SOE games have them, literally every game out there has them, so take yoru head out of your...

Champions Online MTs have zero impact on gameplay, I have not seen any XP boosts yet but it only makes sense that they will be available at some point.  I much rather people who want to get to lvl cap paid Cryptic then pay korean lvling services and then have a game full of farmers like wow.

People who posts bS comments about MTs in CO have no clue what they are doing, that is the problem.  All you have to do is try it to realize that the stuff available in MTs is only for doushbags who want that pretty hat or armor or something.  If you do not spend a dime in MTs in this game you will never see a difference in your gameplay.

We're all hoping that Mts will hold off some of the asshats.  As far as the number don;t you worry, the game has allready gone gold ( that's in closed beta still, month before release, without the 360 version being available yet ).

mmorpg.com forum trolls bash every mmo out there, this is no different, so don;t worry about it if you like the game.  Look at al the various forums on this site, thesame garbage everywhere.  It's "cool" to bash games on this ssite.

CO sucekd me in from day 1, infact i spen dmost of my time in the character creator.

I have to say I love how trendy it is on mmorpg to put down mmorpgs in all their incarnations.

CO is awesome, check out my in-game videos on youtube ( search youtube for mrgunbad ).

If u will play for over a year then lifetime sub is well worth it ( one year at $ 15 come sup to $180 ).

MTs make no difference, who cares about some pretty hat or shiney armor.

Everyone who pre-ordered will know if this is godo or not before it goes retail.  Anyone else who wants to will also get into open beta.   So anyone who might be interested in lifetime sub can easily find out if it is worth it.

I assume that at least those who pre-ordered willk always have the option to purchase a lifetime sub.

Last time I checked it was a dude over in Korea and he had been on for 56 hours then died of dehydration, no I don't have a link. yes that was 6 months ago so it has probably been beaten by now...

Yes, unfortunately as all artists he became famous after his death :P

I pre-ordered and will wait to try it on the 17th before making any final decision on whether I'll get the lifetime sub.  That being said, I played CoX for 4 years, a lifetime sub would have been great.

Sounds like a lifetime sub would have saved you a bunch.

THIS THREAD on my guilds forum has screenshots of al the offers , even patcher and login screens etc..

".5%" interest in nothing, what is the point of that ?  Any decent bank will give you mor ethen that on a regular savings account.

That made no sense.

How active do you expect members to be?
+I fully expect them to play as much as they can ? :D

I saw the average age is 35ish but are there people in their 20's also?
+We have people under 20- in now, though who knows if they will stick.

For raids, do you guys do something like DKP or do people get loot that were there?
+This is a casual guild dude, we don't have time for BS loot systems.  Need on use all the way.

How serious are you guys into pvping?
+We're not "serious", we are a casual guild.

If Champions turns out to being a dud, what will you guys do?
+We'll move on to another game, few very cool games on horizon ( Stargate, Star Wars and Star Trek + maybe Huxley or DC Online ).  We still have chapters in Warhammer and Everquest so we could possibly just disperse into those in mean time ( or start a new chapter in one of the already existing mmos ).

I ask this because the last two MMOs I've played have been AoC and WAR and guilds I joined in them didn't last too long cause everyone left.
+We are not centered on a game, we are centered on our guys :)  Games change.

Do you see as Champions being a long lasting game as well? I haven't been in beta to check out the game yet but this game does interest me. I'm weary about new MMOs now because of how terrible 2008-2009 has been.
+ We plan to play it until one of the games that we are watching will come out ( Stargate, Star Wars or Star Trek ).  When one of those will come out we will definitely play them, unless Champions will turn out totally amazing and so much better then anything else :D

I don't post much and I have been playing these mmos forever now. This game has what I have been looking for its a mixture of EQ2 Lineage2 GW and some WoW bits all into one. Don't get me wrong it is very unique in its own way I just like how well it is blended together. I have been playing ffxi for the past 3.5 yrs waiting for something to keep me playing past the first 30 days and this is defenitely it.

NcSoft has done it again and Im so happy. BTW played Lineage 2 for about 3 years as well.

Have you played this game at all ?  But then again if yo ucan put up with all our grindfest like FF then this should be right up your alley. nvm.

I just saw that a lawsuit was filed against Amazon for deleting an eBook off of someone's Kindle eBook reader.  To me, this is something that was long overdue, and I think it will only make MMO publishers think twice before going to town on someone's software.

I like this line from Jay Edelson especially:

"Amazon.com had no more right to hack into people's Kindles than its customers have the right to hack into Amazon's bank account to recover a mistaken overpayment...Technology companies increasingly feel that because they have the ability to access people's personal property, they have the right to do so. That is 100 percent contrary to the laws of this country."

You really should learn at least the very basics about the law before you comment on anything, otherwise it just makes you look ignorant.  Lawsuits like this one are filed every week regarding all types of property management systems.  For some reason people who file them can't grasp the concept of renting vs owning vs ( essentially ) leasing.
