Yes, this is very good if they implement it correctly. I am really interested to see the improvements that are made with this new build. |

I think they are scared to release any videos because of the first video being poorly received. I mean I would be too if I got that kinda bad of a reaction from the ENTIRE gaming community. It was so bad that they went back and revamped the whole combat/targeting mechanics. You are talking about something that is the core of the game and something that probably took a year or so of development time. If the game is good enough and turns out to be a very fun game. The community will grow over time just like EvE.
I have always had a really good feeling about this game and I have to say I still have a really good feeling about this game.
P.S. Cavadus. Your not the only oldest follower. I have been following for like one more month less then you. There are a few other that are still on that have been following for the same amount of time as us two. |

Originally posted by jrs77 Zerging is possible in every game. So I do not care too much about zerging. and even then the way it is put up it gives really a sense of knowing how to use your abilities to the fullest adding that skill based sense.
AoE weapons..... Ermmm, maybe launchers and other weapons that have splash damage? Not an ability but the gun itself. Uhhh,.... hasn't it also been stated that you can take friendly damage? I remember them saying something about if you walk in front of someone firing you will take damage. |

They did not add the regular shots.. We do not know how far inbetween each skill use there is regular ammunition being used. There could be very few abilities being used with a lot of regular shots being fired. |

Originally posted by HerculesSAS But you are forgetting it does work properly.. The combat system works? The crafting system works? You are physically able to move around? You are able to kill stuff (PvE)? The major pieces of the puzzles are there with a few loose ends. Codes are easy to fix if you have the co-operation of the company you are taking over. Which is not unheard of and you can fix stuff with minimual cost. In my opinion it is cheaper to take over a company then only spend an extra what 10 million into just improvements. That is all that is need improvements. The basics are there. Also the additional cost will not cost more then the game cause I HIGHLY doubt SV would sell this game for more then they have invested. I can almost fairly positively say that this IP has a great potential. You are just too hard headed and hate this game with a passion to even consider an other company actually liking the game and taking it up. You want to see this game burn in a blazing fire. |

Originally posted by HerculesSAS It really is not and I can't believe you don't see it. This game is a great investment if you know what you are doing. With proper meetings, schedules, etc. The game can do a 180 and become one of the greater sandboxes out in the market which again the writer also noticed. Also if you really know how to work code it will not take a lot of work to fix the problems that made it that way. You could practically go back to a standard launcher then work from there or better yet put in your existing launcher. Really, there are simple fixes that could be made to the codes that could take only a day and already have vast improvements. There are also small fixes to the game that world that could be made such as the placements of objects. Bad press of the game is not the issue here. I am fairly positive that the company is the one getting the bad press and not the game. I am fairly positive if an other company came and took it over people would try out the game again. This is one of those cases bad company, EXCELLENT game! |

I am surprised also.... Really this game has some really GREAT positives and is only let down by the errors, glitches and the patcher. Either then that the game is excellent combat that is better than almost any game out in the market and the crafting is also awesome! Which the writer clearly stated and which none of you are paying attention to. Really this game is a great game when it comes to combat and crafting. If there were half the bugs and errors in game I am positive this game would have better reviews. SV really needs to step down and give this great IP to a more competent company. |

The armor detail and structures seem WAY more detailed and better then the environment. Don't know if that is a good thing of a bad thing.. Either then that it should be really fun exploring the island and the island it's self looks fairly large! |

Originally posted by Bureyku I totally agree with this statement! You are right on the nail! In all honesty I had no trouble at all getting used to just using the keyboard and using mouse for clicking targets and rotating camera view. I used the keyboard 90% of the time and only 10% on mouse for talking to npc's, rotating camera and selecting targets. Really just get in game and spend a few mins just getting used to the controls. Yes, very true that this game gives you no help what so ever in direction of where you should go. Which is AWESOME! It allows you to actually have to think and actually have to read what is going on. If you do not read the dialog you really should not be playing at all cause you will get lost. Map and reading was my key to enjoying this game. I have however not played since CB2 and I want to know how is the combat speed. If anyone remembers how cb1 and cb2 was you would understand how MISERABLY slow the combat was. Have they speed up the combat some what? |

Ermmm you guys do realize that WoW was not the game to give way to those names or how those types of classes played out.... Why is it that people relate those classes to wow? I really do not get it?! |

Originally posted by segyn Yeah, hand holding is pretty much non-existent in FFXIV, which is really nice and makes it hardier to grind. However this leads to the fact that you pretty much have to read EVERYTHING. I mean I tried a few times to skip some story lines and totally had no clue where to go for the next quest and ended up having to read the quests. FFXIV is the definition of RPG and really brings back the RPG in MMO. The only concern I have since I have not played since cb1 is the game speed. HOLY CRAP! It was slower then FFXI. I have heard they have speed up the animation some what... So any news on combat speed now? |

I died a little inside (from seeing this before I actually get into the game, would have been so much epic seeing this fro the first time when I was actually playing the game myself) when I saw that dragon appear! That is REALLY REALLY AWESOME! |

Isn't it a tease! It looks really awesome and very deep crafting! I have a good feeling about crafting in this game. |

Yes, they are not getting really much any hype anymore but to say that no one will play beta is over exaggerating A LOT! Yes they had a lot of information when it first started and it was steady but as soon as they downfall on combat video. They really stopped. I think they really do not want to have a repeat of the combat video and want to release a gameplay video that is VERY well polished. |
