Give Alganon a look. Right now it's in the BETA phase, which means a couple of cool things. 1) You get to basically get in on the ground floor of the game! It is OPEN BETA! 2) When you check out their website (http://alganon.com/) pay special attention to the "World Evolution" page. They have some good ideas they will be implementing, the first of which will be starting this December 1st!
I've logged in and played around some and I like it so far. You have to take it all into context though. The game is not complete, by any means, it is very functional, but there are bugs and you will get errors and crashes sometimes. If you enjoy getting in on a game early that could prove to be a very fun game that will stand out from the crowd a lil' bit, in terms of features, you should give it a try. Oh yeah, the game should not be that demanding on system resources. I haven't seen them listed yet, but download it and give it a shot if you like what you see and read.
In fun, |

I would really like a trial key to give this game a try. |

Thanks for the quick reply! Also, you were correct. The exact steps were only very slightly different. After subscription there displayed all my accounts, only one in my case. For the account, there were two options, one of which was cancel. So, the only actual difference is that there was one less step. Thanks again for the help, much appreciated! |

I know how stupid it may sound, but the cancellation method is confusing me....basically because I can't find it....help....please? |

Well, so far so good. I haven't gotten too far on the DT server yet, but any progress at this point is good, lol! I also created a char on the FrostFell server to get myself acquainted with that aspect of the community and it's pretty kool too. Anyhow, for anyone else that may be jumping in/returning/bored, feel free to contact me in-game. FrostFell - Myrrh Man DarkTide - Azrek (this one may get deleted, not happy with current setup) |

What's the deepest, most complicated MMO out?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/16/07 7:11:49 PM
I'd have to add Asheron's Call as a definite candidate to the list. It's not that newbie friendly, at all, there are tons of items, loads of skill combinations (open skill system), a LOT of land to explore, one of the best and most constantly evolving storylines to date, did I mention the incredibly harsh PvP of the Darktide server? It may be an older game and have fewer players than what is considered mainstream MMOs nowadays, but it well deserves consideration! |

I'm an AC noob that recently became interested in playing and I'm now checking out the free trial and all. Do you plan on playing on the DT server? That is my current plan at the moment. If so, it could be fun to get together in-game, assuming we play at similar times and such. I'm rarely at home from work before 7pm CST. |

As the title says, I never made it around to playing AC back in its prime and, according to a few posts I've read, that's quite a shame for me. Anyhow, I downloaded, installed, and patched the game last night. This morning I hopped on for a precious few minutes to check out what I had gotten myself into. I made just enough time to get through the Academy before having to log out to leave for work, which I was late for anyways...go figure. For what very little I have seen so far, I must say that I like it. At this point I've been playing EQ2, which I do like quite a bit, but I've been steadily losing interest lately and I haven't been playing it very long... Given that AC is an older game and this and that, I am duly impressed. Only time will tell whether or not I played it longer than the trial period, but it certainly looks promising at this point. I started out on, and am planning on sticking with my decision of, starting out on the DT server. You know, the allure of being victimized by the longtime residents and all... Anyhow, I would like to know what is the best way, if there is one, to get in touch with good guilds and all? Also, if anyone else is new or starting anew in AC and would like to group up for some noob action, let me know! |

I appreciate the reply, but no thanks. I currently have a set of headphones in that price range, which aren't all that bad, but definitely has room for improvement. I'm attempting to find a "premier", if you will, set of h'phones within my price range. My first post, before editing, was a bit unclear, so I've now attempted to clarify a bit. |

I've been searching around, trying to decide what sort of headphones to buy, and even with all the research, I'm still not sure! I was wondering if some of you guys wouldn't mind sharing your views for what are some of the best wired & wireless headphones? I'm looking for something comfortable, noise cancelling, no distortion, not cheap nor expensive (around $100-200), and which also has noise cancelling for the microphone (if applicable). At the moment I may have to settle on one of these, but I don't have a lot of hope for them www.pccasegear.com.au/prod4250.htm
I was also looking at Sennheiser's (spelling?) and they are quite nice, just no mic. They are wireless and are supposed to be very decent for their respectable prices. Anyhow, any other ideas? |

Best MMORPG able to be played with (don't laugh) dial-up?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/17/07 7:24:51 PM
Thanks for the link. I may have to end up doing that if I can't find it in-stock at a local store, because of the seriously long download time I'll be look at. ~ Does anyone know if Roma Victor is playable on a dial-up connection? I have my doubts about that one, but supposedly they have serious sporadic lag no matter the connection, dunno. |

Originally posted by Vidan That is very inspiring, indeed! ~ Well, so far, from checking out a few that you guys have mentioned, EQ2 looks really good. To make sure I get everything I need, I will need to buy EQ2 Classic and the Echoes of Faydwer expansion, right? And when I say 'need', I mean, to be up to date with the latest and all that. I'm still no 100% sure I'm going the EQ2 route, but it looks promising. If anyone has any further suggestions, my ears (and eye By the way, thanks for all the suggestions and help thus far, I really do appreciate it! |

However, I live in a rather remote location, it is literally impossible to have cable/dsl out here. Also, I am aware that I could get a satellite connection, and if I ever run across a deal where they'll do the installation for free, or for considerably less than it normally costs, I'll definitely get it. I'm just not a proponent of paying $400-700 dollars to have some guys come install a dish. So, thanks, but no thanks on the advice. If people like you would worry about being more constructive (or not posting at all), it would surely help keep the count of needless posts down. |
