It would be a more enjoyable concept if individuals could pioneer the landscape, form villages and towns of their own, elect officals of that town and form player militias to defend them. From my understanding though ( and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong ) you can only form cities if you belong to a clan. I've never personally cared for clans because the players themselves have no control over who makes the decisions and usually ends up with only a few top clans running the whole game.
It really just depends on wether you plan to stay f2p or go vip. The four packs it includes covers a range of levels (from around 9 to 20) but you'll definately want to get packs like Gianthold, The Vale of Twilight, and Reavers Refuge for instance to fill out the mid to higher level content (all are included with vip access just fyi.) The menace expansion is lvl 16 up roughly, so if you haven't already leveled a toon out you won't be able to experience it yet.

I'd like to know that there is utility (traps and puzzles) for a theif to be a theif rather than a dual weild DD. After watching the video though I have a feeling that won't be the case.

They have been finding ways to map brainwaves, potentially allowing for a neural scanning device that would be able to read a persons thoughts and provide the logical response. OCZ has a device like this, however it is very weak in comparison to what is around the corner.

They have also been working with a technology that actually sends impulses into the optic nerve and have managed to give a blind man the ability to see, yet this technology is still in it's infancy. Once they have this technology mastered, it would be easier to provide the image of what you want to look at through your optic nerve, rather then actually have to create a visual display.

They are working on suits that can excite the nerves under the skin and create sensations of hot, cold, wind, wet etc.

Pretty soon, you will be able to sit down in your gravity chair, put your neural interface on, and play your mmo where you feel like you are actually walking around within the game environment. When the game engine says it's raining, you will feel the drops, and sense that your clothing is getting soaked. Everything you see will be within the game engine as the visual interface will bypass the signal you get from your eyes, letting you feel that you are actually looking at the game world.

People in the forums will still says it's a wow clone however.

It's nice thought, but unless it becomes the absolute mainstream it's not likey to ever happen. Most developers currently won't take full advantage of todays hardware, even though it's obvious that the majority of MMO fans will happily upgrade their systems to make sure the meet the recommended requirements. They still continue to scale to obsolete hardware in hopes that they can grab as much income as possible.

I guess the small features are what intrigue me the most about this game, like digging out of a prison or climing a tree to get away from a creature. It makes for a new level of gameplay to be able to get out of the reach of a monster or trying to escape from prison.

Combat reminds me of many single player action games, the boss charges his power move, he growls puts his weapons up and then assaults giving a good 3 to 5 seconds for you to move or block. Once you get a his tells down all you have to do is follow the rythm. The AI seems non reactive too, it doesn't interupt and go after the one he has aggro on. It just finishes the move even if it hasn't started the actual move. Just seems tedious for a nine and a half minute fight.

Well you are very observant except for one little thing,  This bam is around lvl20ish and is the 2nd bam you will encounter at that lvl.  Ofcourse it will be slow at showing its tells, and the game does have interrups on mobs.  imo the mob ai is the best of any game out on the market to date (speaking from a player that has a max character in the game).

Tedious ?  sorry this an't wow ,tor, or rift.  If you want casual easy mode go play those games.   This video showed off a mob that normaly takes a party of 5 to take down,  having only 2 players at that level is quite good.   But I guess you can't understand the meaning of a challenging game.

~sorry for the rant but misinformed noobs put me on edge~

WhenI say slow, I mean the mob gives you too much time to react. With action combat the less time you have to react the quicker you have to think. Take Dark Souls for instance, the first boss fight when you step out on the ledge above the boss it doesn't give you more than 2 seconds before it knocks the ledge out from under you. That's good AI reaction.

Also I'm not talking about player interupts I'm talking about the AI inteupting itself as in the mob itself stopping it's attack and changing it's tactic. Of course I guess you can't have wonderful graphics and an innovative creature AI too so they did what they could.

As for educating the misinformed, you could learn to do it without trying to insult people.

Maybe the problem with the direction of the genre has nothing at all to do with player wants and or feedback and everything to do with developers trying to push the genre toward the Console market?

I'm a casual player and I don't want a corpg or lobby based game, but neither do I want to return to the old days of camping spots and loot drop grinds, hell levels and time requirments that would tax even a retiree.  I want persistant, breathing worlds that are immersive and fun to play, but not if they're going to suck the life out of you, turning you into a basement dweller.

This +1 every store you go in regular retail or specialty gaming the PC selection is shrinking or non existant. A number of MMOs have already worked to cross platform and with the release of next gen consoles rapidly approaching, we're likely to see more and more games become cross platform or console exclusive. Face it console games are easier to develop because the only need to work on one hardware standard. The market majority are casual console gamers who won't spend hundreds to upgrade a PC just to waste hours on one single game. These gamers would rather spend an hour or two playing BF3 or MF3 with family members and friends three States away than 8 hours on a PC sandbox with people they really don't know. Until that changes (and it's not ever likey) the trend will move more to the casual with every passing year.

They did the same thing with the map in Oblivion you can see all of the bordering nations on the map. In fact, there's a quest in Oblivion that takes you through Pale Pass into the border of Skyrim.

Same here, never received any official invite....

My wife and I were enjoying the game until we had to deal with SE's customer service. My wife's account was hacked shortly after release and customer service was just plain hateful and very unhelpful so we both moved on. If they wanted to ruin their reputation the CS team is definately helping.

Why is it so hard to understand that in a galaxy with numerous systems, populated by billions of sentient beings, that there would be hundreds upon thousands of force sensitive beings. Just because the movies focused on a small fraction of those beings doesn't mean there aren't many others out there. It's a much bigger universe than what the movies focused on.

As for the jedi being elite warriors, I seem to recall many of them falling in episode III to Republic troops that had no force ability at all.

PvP is the main reason, as a tank class there is no subtlety or range. You have to go toe to toe to be in the thick of the action and most people prefer less direct PvP, hence the reason most roll ranged or stealth classes.

you cant have realistic world without that unfortunately.

The realism is really what gets me. I mean I died 3 times tonight at work, and the 5 mile naked corpse runs were a pain. I wasn't able make it back the last time before someone looted my body and the store then stole my S10 mount.

I really don't believe realism plays as big a part as people wanting to take everything from another player. Think about it the last attempt at a sandbox thinks it's reasonable to have adult characters dropped into a world without a shred of clothing or money to their name like they just fell off the cloning truck.  That doesn't sound very realistic to me.

I'd support a well made sandbox if it wasn't "full" loot. Maybe a player loot table with drop odds on your inventory. If I pay a sub fee there's no reason I should have to put up with anothers social inadequacies.

My only real problem with OP's list, predefining alignment. That's really what turns me off most about MMOs. Why not let the player decide alignment through their characters actions and interactions within the game.

If anyone could send a NA trial key to me at cochran97@hotmail.com I would really appreciate it. My wife and I are thinking of giving it a go and would like to see it in action first. Thanks in advance.

AS you can see different specs doing pretty much the unthinkable with any other class thus explains why the re rollers have in a space of a week already hit 40s enmass.

my server has a huge and i mean huge number of 30-40s mage now.

you don't even want to know how OP mages are in pvp .it might scare new customers for me to post the videos on that .

What the lock in the first video was doing, is the exact reason they said they were nerfing Reaver lol.

The name Aldolf, maybe....... Aldolf Hitler or just Hitler no, both have been permenantly linked to atrocities during a very dark time in world history. The only reason one would want to name a character in that fashion, would be to inflame people. Hence the reason it would likely be against the naming policy of every MMO out there.

I don't hate it, in fact I haven't even been following it that closely. Now what I do hate is what LA has done with the franchise as a whole. Why do they feel the need to go with highly stylized minimal violence kiddie cartoony crap (rhetorical question money being the answer, yes I saw the indiana Jones episode of South Park lol. )
