My first impression when i tried the beta ( 2 weeks ago) was this game is not bad but geez they have a lot of work to do to be good game and i was thinking maibe if they keep refining and polishing the game for at least 6 month or even a years, i might buy it. But now they will release it in 1 week..

Now all i can tell is i will not buy  a game who is not even near a finish product. Had my experience with AOC so no thank you, anyway this is clearly my opinion if people want to buy it i really dont mind.

Well put, Silok. I also played Conan and was very excited when it first was released. I agree with what you said. Also as a former business man of many years, I completely realize the fine line. Sadly when you reach a breaking point to where you have to generate income or completely scratch the whole project, you have to make a decision. It's a crap shoot. <sigh> It's a shame these developers can't go online and buy gold from farmers.

Of course this is only my opinion. I can't understand the fuss about the cost to play Alganon. Some people make a good point about many of the flaws and risks of getting involved with this game, but I think if a game is being critiqued or ridiculed, money shouldn't even be a factor. I am a working stiff, certainly not rolling in the dough, but I paid $40.00 and will try this game. If the game was free I would try it. But the fact of the matter is money has nothing to do with it. It sounds to me like the folks that think this is too much money for a untested product, simply shouldn't play it. I currently play Eve and plan on staying with that. I was jazzed about Alganan at first because of the fact it was a small, dedicated group that was trying to maybe strike out on their own and create something homey and intimate. I since have, to be quite frank, have come to think that this might not be the game I was hoping for, but will still play and possibly give it a good try (6 months?) I have played every game since I beta tested the grandfather of online games. (Meridian59) I have lost my passion and drive ever since it peaked playing Camelot. (I was obsessed with that game) Since the passion for online gaming is waning in me, I was hoping this might ignite a new spark. I realize this is a long text read and many people will likely skip over it. I don't address many forums or boards as I get discourage at the immaturity and caustic remarks sprinkled through out. It's one thing to voice a mature "opinion" and quite another to simply write "you suck"!   We are gamers... We should have more of a bond based on that, then ripping people apart.

Now, lets all game till we bleed. and don't let a troll bite you in the butt....

That was my gut instint too. Thanks Monkeyman. I appreciate your input. I will hang loose on the upgrade

Hello everyone.  I am quite happy with my computer but just to get some imput on if it would behove me to make any upgrades at this time. Using Vista 32 bit,  Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs),  Asus Striker II nForce 780i SLI, Nvidia GeForce GTX 280,  and heres the thing,  I just now noticed, and wonder if this ram set up makes any difference. I just saw that in my four slots I have in slot one and two, @ one gig each, PC2-5300 (333 MHz) and in slots three and four I have one gig each,  PC-6400 (400 MHz). I wonder if this would have any effect on anything? Like I said I am happy with this but not being "Joe" computer nerd expert thought I would ask people more knowlegable then me. Thanks all for taking the time to answer.

Remeber, game till you bleed.

Remeber way back when, in the "old" days? One would have to shout to get a certain class to fill out the group? Made your toon special and gave a purpose to. ahhh those were the days. (EQ, Camalot) Really felt good to be part of a group and really contributing. And the squables? haa haa "Heal me Heal me!!  Bastard never healed me! haa haa ahhh those were the days. I have hopes for this game. Very burnt out over the years. Played them all. Now playing Eve but thats a horse of another color.

This debate will never be resolved. I see both sides of the coin. There is no black and white answer. Do what you want. Play what you want. But always.... Game till you bleed.....

I have the same problem. Does anyone know if you are a member of Fileplanet, if they need to send you a reg number? If so, I never got one. Can't log on and that gamegaurd thingy keeps wanting to install. (which I wont allow) Is that manditory to run the game?

Yes. Gameguard is required for Aion to run. VERY bad decision on NCsofts part, but thats how it is.<shrug>

Fileplanet should have sent you a reg key. Check your emails spam filter.

Thanks Wraithone, Guess I'm out of luck. Must have missed the key if Fileplanet sent it. Oh well

Ok everyone thanks a ton for taking the time to give imput. I run Vista 32 and acually have no problems at all with any games. I always turn up settings to the max. (Whats the point of playing any game at clunky settings?) Even EQ2 at highest settings runs fine. I curently play Eve but am going to try Aion today, and basically have played every online game out there. I have a Viewsonic 26 inch and it is sweetness. I just look to have basically the best gaming computer every year, and even though money isn't the main consideration, I sure don't want to spend 10K to pick up 3% speed inprovment. Tried duo sli video cards when they first came out with it but turned into a can of worms. I'm not that computer savay and just play games. I definatly get the impression from all your imput to forget about even upgrading at this time. That helps me a lot so I can just forget about it and spend my money on something else. haa haa

Ok, thanks for imput. My current processor is Intell Core 2 Duo E8400. No complaints about my system as it's fairly scokum. But I just upgrade every year and was wondering if I would gain anything by getting faster ram. But I get the impression I should hang losse for awhile.

Hello all. Anyone know whether I should bother upgrading my fast 4 gigs of DDR2 for 8 gigs of DDR3? I have a killer duo core pent and a kill (280 Nvidia)  so all I would need to buy would be a motherboard and the ram. Should I see a different if I did?

Tryed researching on the net but only things I was able to find were very old comparisons and reveiws. (2007-2008)

Thanks all, game till you bleed

Now I remeber why I don't acually frequent forums that much. I can't beleive that peeps are acually whining about what countries are involved in this give away! Like there is even a chance to win?  8 copys?  Might as well try to jump to the moon. But heck, I'm not complaining, just pointing out the chances to win are almost nonexistant, so why would anyone complain as to not getting an opportunity to enter? These must be the same types that complain about paying  $15 a month for more hours of  more entertainment they could ever possably hope for, for the same amount of money.  <sigh> some people were born to whine.

Game till you bleed

This acually sounds enticing.  Classes seem like the old days, when if you wanted a "tank" you looked for a tank. Everyone has thier roles. I hate games today that allow everyone to be everything. I also loved what he said about all the face sliders and detail put into building your toon is "a waste of time" I agree. After your done you never see faces again.

Time will tell.

I got a bit happy when I heard it would be a open beta, I've heard good things about Aion, but then again, most people says about every Asian mmo is awesome while WoW suck, it looks cool and all that but I don't expect too much.

One thing I know for sure is that I certianly will not pay to play this goddamn *OPEN BETA* which in my eye's are only another way for NCsoft/Fileplanet to get money, I'd kil myself before doing that.

But then again, there just might be a site which give out them for free "TOO EVERYONE", only time will tell.

I think "killing" one'self, might bit a bit extreme. I think if you pay Fileplanet 7 dollars for a month subscription, and maybe skipping going to MacDonld's one time you can get that much entertainment value. What do you think?

Ok, this is totally insane. So  unbelievable that the company would even do this. The offer isn't so crazy, but the "making" of the offer is. That's like investing in the long levity of a glazed donut, and we all know that widow is mere hours. Or even better yet, the offering of a life time membership to a work out fitness gym. and we all know the rest of the story there. I have preordered the game and looking forward to playing it. Since they are the same boys made City of Heroes, I can only assume that it will be better and City of heroes was a blast. (for a few months) It's certainly not about the money, but looking over the last 5 years of mmo's one would be crazy to invest in this crap shoot. It's so lame I am almost embarrassed for the company.

Gosh, I remember EQ and how important and bonding it was to group

I have no idea what this fellow just said.

Arrested?  Hhmmmm   I you had babys, and they were hungry, would you steal a loaf of bread to feed them? Look at what goverments do on a daily basis....  (meant for Cristina1 )

I almost fell out when I read this. Made me laugh.  Good one GrandoReaper.  Wow is a good game. (I don't play it now) but really the main thing to focus on here is, Why would anyone care? Play WoW, play Aion....  What difference does it make?

<shakes head in bewilderment>

This is a joke right?  No adult person with the IQ higher then a goat could accually care about this.....
