Sooooo awesome looking.

Fine read of things we already know about, but the paragraph of WoW history with a timeline of MMOs didn't fit and was utterly useless and too brief to hold accuracy.  Anyone wanting the history should visit a WoW wiki page where that's talked about in depth.

Was nice to see who some indies are making waves. But way too much reliance on the ‘buzz’ as a forecaster of coming MMO goodness. We know where that has got us before. Perhaps if feature authors played these new MMOs, even if only for a couple of hours each, that would put these sort of reviews on firmer ground.

I agree 100%.
One irritation of mine is an inexperienced source reviewing a game/book/film.
You have to play it/read it/watch it first if you want your opinion to hold credence.

Wiz101 is actually pretty fun.  I played it for a while, but the new wore off after a month of it.  It repeats itself a lot.
You can tell it's a 'Harry Potter' game for kids, but it does seem to entice adults and hardcore gamers for a while also.  It's something different at least.

They're quite addictive.
I use tons and there's always something else coming out.
It's very easy to manage all of them if you use something like Curse Client from the Curse addon site.

I couldn't read it all because of all the errors.

What I did get was yet another article that repeated the same thing.  A very, very long article with no new info.

Whether you hate the changes that happen or not, the old world needs updating for people who care about the entire experience of the game.  To me, the end game is just tolerable, but the journey is everything.
I look forward to the update.

The mastery system is going to be a breath of fresh air.  Cookie cutter builds are so boring and maybe this will lead for more options and people being more open-minded about talents and creativity.

I absolutely hated the game.
It was an Asian watered down version of WoW that played like a "point and click" GW mixed with some bad EQ2 emotes.
Nothing innovative at all in my eyes.  They presented flying as some brand new aspect.  I got "Hover" in CoH 5 years ago.

Not impressed.
I hope the people who play it have lots of fun, but I just couldn't deal with the "kill 10 boars" type of questing all over again.

When did men stop liking hot chicks? Ive seen many posts about how the female toons in Aion are too sexy. Lets all petition game devs everywhere to make fat, ugly female toons that wear burkas, then these sensitive men will not be so offended.

Who says the people complaining were men?  These sorts of complaints can generally be expected from an organization of people (men and women) that are aimed at specific topics such as this.  I seriously doubt it was a general gamer's concern.

I love the ideas you threw out.

One that I've been thinking about recently deals with us PVP folk.
As of now, we have basically nothing unless you're a high end arena player.
The battlegrounds get no love now.  Our gear is crap and we have no weapons at all (arena doesn't count) unless you're 60.
This is a feature of the game that completely fell through in my opinion once WotLK came out.

Give the battlegrounds some love!
Raiding is just horribly boring for me and I don't understand why battlegrounds is so limited now.

What I want to know is why a player of only 4 months is critiquing a patch.
Everyone has to start somewhere, I know this.  People stopped caring about twinks years ago.
Leave the critiquing to people who've been in this world for 5 years and experienced it.

I'm also ready for this.

The micro payment system does fit this game.  The article's points were very valid.
I don't know the specifics, but many western gamers don't care for a payment system like this.  Many Americans also don't like things like that in their real life either.  An example of this would be prepaid minutes on cellphones.  Our society somehow wants consistent payment methods even if they are economically bad for households in comparison.
I hope that this feature doesn't turn people off from the game.  It's great and less expensive than the rest.

This could be solved if they go back to how it was originally with the travel powers.
Your ACC use to be severely reduced when you had them activated, so that would make everyone have to drop out of it in order to even fight.
They can make it so in only PVP if they want, but I saw nothing wrong with the original plans.
These days, people don't even bother switching to hover or combat jumping in PvE, much less PvP.

This will be a great class to play.

I'm not sure about the wings until I see them in game, but another healing class is always good.

I wonder how this is going to effect the launch of D&D??

It seems to me that this is going to put things back.

There's no telling how long they could be in court.  The article doesn't mention anything about a length of time or how far they have gone with the case, or if they putting things on hold for this issue.  These are details that we really need in news like this.  Otherwise, it just seems like idle gossip.  Not my style, personally.

I would have been surprised if it was coming out before 2010.

I agree.  There's absolutely no need for it since WotLK released in November.

Blizzard owns the MMO market now and has plenty of room to take their time.  They're known for waiting to release things until they are sharp.

During all of this, I had no idea until now that they are opening Gilneas.  That sold it for me.

Knowing that they are going back to original content from lore and opening it up to be something...just gets me giddy.

Now, if they will figure out how to open Grim Batol, I'll be even more giddy.

Being a fan of the lore and the books specifically, I'll probably come back for this too.  It will be interesting to go through the level process in an altered form.  I've always hated their end game, so this will be something new for people like me who enjoy the leveling process.  It is brave and cool of them to change things up like this.

Why not post about 14 more of these in case we all missed the first 14.

"Tanker & Scrapper: Electric Armor and Electric Melee

The original plan was just to proliferate Electric Armor and to use this opportunity to make some survivability adjustments to the set at the same time. To that end, we renamed "Conserve Power" to "Energize" and added a small self heal and short duration regeneration buff to the power. During testing, we realized that Energize came too late in the lifetime of a character to truly be useful, so for the new versions of the powerset, we swapped the progression of Lightning Reflexes and Energize (Brutes and Stalkers do not get this advantage, unfortunately). Ultimately, we decided that we really wanted a thematic match for Electric Armor on the attack side of the fence, and added Electric Melee to the mix as well."

Why don't villains get it, Thats completely unfair. I mean I understand it might mess up all the slotting for any /Electric toons out there but why is it that heroes get something that villains don't? Especially something good like +regen/self heal. Totally BS.

Yah i agree with you here

having a heal on one side and not the other for the same set is BS.

They should put in a extra regen in electric armor for villians as a inherent power.

oh that makes me think though will this be a better power then conserve or just another weak healing power to shut people up

and hopfuly the recharge is longer then most self heal powers . that way you only have it just in case s**t happens and have can only use it once

being a huge fan of /Elec I'm going to make a scrapper but I still feel ripped off for my brute.

With any hope they'll balance it better by making it take a longer to recharge or make the buff overall shorter then the original Conserve power.

if not then this is one Pissed off brute.

You have to also look at the fact that it's a brute versus a scrapper.  The inherent abilities speak.  /elec Scrappers are going to be end sucking squishies.  The heal will probably bring a sort of balance compared with the brute's life span and strength.  They will probably play with this for a while and end up tweaking it if it's not working, but I can see their thinking process.  There are plenty of cross class things that are different.  If you compare scrappers and stalkers and their related secondaries (and primaries) there are tons of differences.  It's not supposed to be the same on both sides.
