World of Warcraft: Story of the Week: Azeroth Loses People
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/12/11 4:48:50 PM
The fact that people are freaking out over this just shows the power and interest of this game. It won't be going anywhere. People stop and start up games all the time. They just overhauled the graphics with cataclysm and keep updating it. If original EQ can keep it going, WoW will surely never die. People just play it too much and get all burnt out and whiny. |

The only "bad" thing about the game for me after getting use to the controls on PC (but it isn't hard), was that it takes no time to bust through the game. On Spring Break, I bought the game, got maxed level hero and started doing daiies after only 2 days. It's fun, but you can go through all the quests very quickly. I got my villian to 20 the next day - the max level is 30. I absolutely believe that the reason they haven't (and probably won't) offer an open free trial of this game is because you can "finish" it WAY before 14 days are over. I didn't have any memorable bugs with DCUO, but queue times were very long and sometimes I couldn't even get into anything - even when picking random (all - any) for many hours. As much as I adore EQ2, I have a passionate dislike for SOE and their treatment of bugs and how they are vampires of their communities money. I was completely shocked to see no Station Cash Marketplace in DCUO...yet. I think that the game costs too much for the amount of content, but you can have up to 16 characters and the beginnings are different based on who you pick as your mentor - after the initial tutoral quest. So, making alts quickly adds extra interest to people who enjoy that sort of thing. Regardless, it's still too much money. I really did enjoy the game. I just wish that I could have gotten it for less that 50 bucks. Graphics aside, it's about a 20-30 dollar game. About Champions - it was pretty fun in beta and launch (after their launch issues) but it's all kinds of screwy and odd now with their F2P system. It's almost a completely different game - for the worse. |

Guild Wars 2: PCGamer Outs the "Guardian" as Fifth Profession
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/21/11 6:55:43 PM
It's guess it's cool to know it's Guardian, but...kind of lame to announce when there's no info. Not really worth a post imo. Looking forward to someone actually having information about this new profession. |

City of Heroes: Issue 19 Strike Pack Update

I wonder if it's going to be on a schedule or if it will be random. They didn't say specifically. Would be nice to have a schedule of it. |

City of Heroes: Issue 19 Strike Pack Update
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/20/11 5:52:31 PM
This is a great addition. This assures us that all of the task forces will be popular during a week so that the less popular ones can be done to get the extra stuff and the TF badge! WOOT! So excited! We needed this to sort of reign in the masses to focus on specific things and make getting up teams a little bit easier. |

City of Heroes: Keeping New Year's Resolutions
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/10/11 11:16:17 PM
It's nearly overwhelming how many people have come back to CoH since Going Rogue. I was scared about this incarnate system because I really don't want my favorite game to turn into an elitist, sadly snobby game at the end. What I've loved about CoH for all of these years is being able to do anything without having to worry with those kinds of people. I guess we'll see how far they go in that direction with the new issues. Adding content is always going to be good for this game. It doesn't have to be giant raids. We have plenty of small raid things to do in CoH with giant monsters and TFs, etc. More things like that (which will last when population isn't as booming as it is now) is good for CoH.

DC Universe Online: Does It Live Up to the IP

If they will add more hair and fix the hair and facial hair being connected, the customization will be nice. I just hate how it is now. Feels very heroic and all, but the skins are just not really great imo. |

Cataclysm SHOULD NOT be on the list. The launch had absolutely no problems and there wasn't even any lag issues, must less server crashes or anything. I'm not a huge fanboy, but I am fair and it's just silly to have it listed. Aion and Champions were both horrible disasters on launch day and even the entire week+ of launch. Servers down constantly and incredible lag. Though, Champions wasn't launched '10, it was such a disaster that I'll never forget it. LOL. |

Originally posted by just1opinion I agree. This happens a lot here. I'm very excited about the mesmer profession and I'm sure that it will be there. I just don't need someone claiming facts and sending misleading post titles. Very lame and actually pretty insecure. |

World of Warcraft: Explorer's League Debuts

I guess that's cute, though information is everywhere already. Can't really be unique when there are millions of players all digging up the same info. Cute though. |

EverQuest II: Extended Officially Launches
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/29/10 9:18:22 AM
Extended rocks. Tons of good adult guilds. You don't have to spend anything unless you want...or unless you're a child with no self control. Don't believe the whiners. They just don't like the game apparently and have to try to bring down the rest that do. Best thing out there right now imo. |

City of Heroes: The Consequence of Power

Awesome! I didn't realize they were adding the electicity controller and kinetic blasting. Bad ass! Woot! Love me some City of Heroes. |

I agree. Aion was severly hyped, but it's like a F2P but you're allergic to water and you get wings that you can't use. Lame. |
