Due to the accuracy of the conan lore in this mmorpg, if i pretend to be arnold schwarzenegger as conan and go around getting drunk, rocking bar fights, and punching camels screaming "aaeaayaa" will i get in trouble?

Personally I think the entire game is what attracts me to it. Sticking to the Lore of Conan, keeping him the intelligent Strong-willed Conan from the books as opposed to the funny yet incorrect Drunken Bafoon Conan from the movies ((which i still enjoy, punching a camel while drunk then seeing it later and it is retarded from your fist)) Keeping to the 3 kingdoms and their styles (classes/beliefs etc.) This is a well rounded game in my opinion, but if I had to choose one of the poll options, considering I have a beer in my hand, I'm gonna have to say the Conan-style Humor is what gives me the tinglies right now!!

Age of Conan has an Mature Rating but the XBox version could counter that.  I'm not saying there might not be some unusual game mechanics in AoC - how it does could change the MMORPG genre for the better but overall though Mature games have smaller player bases.

Warhammer Online will be the most likely to have the most subscribers out of this list.

My buddy is absolutely enthralled by AoC, he's read every 1930's conan book, has the cartoons, online stories etc.

On paper(devs) from what I've read of combat alone I would say AoC will have a lasting mark (IE the Oblivion style move hit duck dodge fire aim) but from the videos I've seen I can't be sure AoC is telling the truth.

Does anyone remember DDO? Nevermind what company that shall not be named, crushed a great legacy. On paper(devs) they told us Real-time Dodge/Aim fighting, and when it came out it was the same auto-attack 'if you are within 5meters and facing 180degrees in the right directionyou will hit based off calculations' ugh ugh UGH!!!

On a side note, I've only fallen for 1 game based off mmorpg.com and it's user's hype and thats PotBS because I have a soft spot for freedom pirating games (SEA DOGS FTW) So having said that I would have to say that I am most influenced towards a game by either it's official website or by friends, so if WAR and TCoS turn out to be great games then I will golfclap for them, but the only one I am going to try of the 3 is Conan

I really do feel for you if you have lost all of this to a hacker, but Blizzard can't just throw 1000's of gold and equipment at every tom, dick and harry that decides to claim to have lost it as that would have serious issues for the economy and it is in a poor state as it is.

I also have to take task with your comments on what they asked you to do to check your machine. It is the users responsibility to safeguard their details and whether you want to believe it or not, it is pretty much certain that your details were obtained via a keylog or other virus attack. Just because they hacked your account and not your brothers proves nothing, as it probably just so happened that they only had the logger in place when you logged on or they got the details from your broken machine before it broke.

You also don't mention exactly how long you actually gave them to get anything sorted out? Did you give them any chance at all to resolve this or follow any of their advice?

I bought an eVGA 8400(gs? maybe 256) for my fiance's gaming computer for $100 flat after tax, it runs some of the older new games at max graphics like a champ, battlefield2 64player 1600x1200 full everything no frame skips, oblivion 1600x1200 max everything no frame skips in the outdoors, the comp is only an amd 64 x2 with a cheap board and 2gb 533 ddr2, so it has to be the video card

as for the arguements/statements going on everywhere about just wait a month, you can wait a month almost always and get an almost-top of the line card for the price of the current best deal for quality, so no matter when you buy a card, Odds are a month or two later the top of the line card will be the price of the card you had just bought

I think it was interesting they removed bio engineer and creature handler because less than 2% of the population played those classes, they had a ton of classes of course some wont get play, but to just take everything and throw it into a big free to use pool of a few classes, well.. thats just not right

Question: Didnt SOE throw Vanguard into the world early and thus the standard issues that should've been fixed in a proper-length beta were not addressed? I'm fairly sure SOE has a habit of throwing big words to get a contract then pushing the smaller companies around to get the game out sooner.

Bad example but an example nonetheless. Take most games that were for PC first, during developement microsoft gets a contract, either throws their weight or throws money at the situation, the developing company then puts the pc to the side, cuts down on content/progress and proper testing to put the game out on XBox, and then is left with a piece of crap xbox version to publish on PC and we get the average new game result 'Garbage.'

I could be wrong, and I hope I am. This game has so much potential.

Personally, pre-expansion UO was the single greatest Online game, and RPG single/multi.

However, after the first expansion was released they started changing the game so drastically and Removing any ties it had to a realistic world *or d&d rules if you don't like hearing reality and games in the same sentence* that i find it surprising people continued to play on thru the 8th expansion, muchless Pay for it. Player economies, player housing/shops guilds groups dungeons, it all was completely obliterated with tram/fel, honestly whoever made that idea should have been scolded or demoted, and the people who accepted and pushed the idea into production should have also been slapped.

As for the lineage series, Personally i think Lingeage 1 was garbage, and lineage 2 *ignoring you hardcore pvp farmers* was also garbage, i've only met 1 actual person who loves lineage 2 and she is Litterally a 100% hardcore pvp fanatic and will sacrifice her $$ to a crappy game just for the pvp. Everyone else i have met irl or know irl either tried lineage2 in beta, or played for their first month and threw it in the trash and i don't mean that figuratively.

Granted I accept that certain games and styles will attract certain people and their interests so I suppose this is a rant and this is where i go outside in the sun =)

GL with the game development, just make sure you know what you are doing from the start of the game, to the end of the game.
