Diablo 3: Pretty Much the Worst of What Everyone Was Expecting
General Discussion « Diablo 3 5/12/12 10:39:06 PM
LOL. Epic review. I like the part where he/she/it compares many aspects of D3 with D2 and then says D3 doesnt feel very Diablo-ish. #CANCELPREORDER
But seriously, cmon May 15th! BOOM! |

Guild War 2 Might Cost you more than you think
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 5/02/12 8:12:36 PM
DOOOOOOM!! DOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Beware the hidden costs! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!
Etc.
I like that on page 1 someone explained that this post is entirely trivial because you can buy gems from others players with the gold you make ingame, therefore you can get all the bag space and extra character slots you want and it still wont cost you anything more than the price of the box.
28 pages later....ROFLBBQWTFHELICOPTERLOLWUT |

The hype youre hearing now about GH2 though? The stuff people are saying after actually having been ingame? Thats as real as it gets. Even in its current state, its a damn fine game. Divinity's Reach alone puts any zone in SWG to shame, and its a starter city. It feels alive, its fun to explore, you WANT to see all of it.
The game is big, beautiful and fun.
Hype justified. |

Its Lego you infidel.
The word Lego is both singular and plural. You can have a piece of Lego. You can have a box of Lego. Its Lego.
Jesus christ have mercy.
Also, GW2 is awesome. |

Metal box! YESSSSS!.
No. |

Also, just though of...
IF its a fantasy/magic/etc type of MMO, then Id love to see UO's style of travel. That means Recall, Mark and Gate skills. Including the entire rune/runebook system as well. |

Really? Thats all you can come up with as my reasoning for Item Decay?
Also will add the following:
No Bind-On-Pickup / Bind-On-Equip + An achievement system along the lines of Rift and EQ2. But not SWTOR. Cause it sucked bollocks.

Hahaha, I like the person that said a game shouldnt have a subscription or a cash shop.
You truly have no idea how things work.
So the Devs will work for free to fix bugs and patch in new stuff. The companies hosting the servers will just write off the data costs for downloads and uploads. Advertising costs will be waived.
Sounds neat. |

The skills system of UO + Crafting system of SWG Pre-CU + The housing of UO and SWG combined (non-instanced housing) + The fun-ness of Rift (for me anyway) + A hobby system like UO's fishing + Item decay + Single Character Servers + The pvp of DAoC + Non instanced dungeons + More stuff I cant think of yet... |

Zippy is right. This post makes no sense. We arent talking about power leveling, but the Chronicles story has been running for a while, and this dude has just made it to Gloamwood?

Problem is the gamer not the MMO?!?

And no, the problem isnt with the player.
The main problem is that there is no more "MM" in MMORPG. |

Were your groups ever stuck in a dungeon ?

Originally posted by phantomghost Sigh. I think I agree with you. Before WoW I played SWG as a crafter, 100%. So for me, it was DAoC. That was the last challenging themepark I played I reckon. |

The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/29/12 8:26:53 PM
I can remember those days.
I cant remember the name of the dungeon...it was in DAoC, there were all the little mini werewolves right down the bottom...damnit, Im getting old and the memory is slipping. The thing is, to get down there, you could fight your way down or just drop and die and get ressed at the bottom. You'd go down there, set up and start farming (if there were spots available, you gotta remember, back then, dungeons werent instanced, everyone was in there at the same time).
Of course, you could always hearth out, which many did, or there was a gap in a part of the wall that would drop you through the world, thus porting you to the nearest bind stone. Man, good times. |

8am, two hours before I have to get ready for work, I have neither shaved, showered or eaten. I am tired, hungry and smell bad. But I have laughed, oh how I have laughed! |

Until an english translation/publisher is announced, I simply refuse to get excited about this game. |

Do you ever wish that MMO X fails?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/27/12 6:36:48 PM
I think there needs to be epic failures on a massive scale in the MMO industry...as horrible as it would be, Dev studios need to crumble and fall apart so that everyone else in the industry can learn how NOT to do something. |

In a way...Im hoping the sub numbers for SWTOR drop dramatically...if even for a short period, enough for BW to lift their heads up and realise they made some extremely critical erros when considering what it is a player wants in an MMO.
Otherwise....other Dev studios will think that 1 million hours of scripted VO cutscenes are the answer to a successful MMO and sacrifice other game systems just like BW did...and worst yet, think its acceptable to fix it later. |

General: Five Truly Innovative Game Features
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/27/12 8:13:36 AM
I shudder to think that other development studios may also see SWTOR's cinematics as "innovative" and trundle along the same tracks as BW, completely ignoring other fundamental game systems (UI, guild functions, PvP).
The only one I see as being right (though this Foundry thing is intriguing) is ArenaNets WvW PvP system. Its so reminiscent of the early RvR from DAoC... |

I gotta say, this was a nice thing to do. I'll keep a heads up in case you do it again :) |
