I mean, if he doesn't get removed, at least give a disclaimer that the information is probably extremely heavily biased TOWARDS Darkfall, because - I don't know about you - but I don't find the fact that new players may be convinced by heavy handed pro-Darkfall crap, just because it seems to be official and on the front page.

TL;DR:
Either remove Paragus1 from "Spotlight Blogs", or change him to something like "Official Darkfall Blog", so that people know to be wary of anything he might say.

Anyone who has followed the Paragus Rants blog knows he is nothing like what you describe which only leads me to think you have some sort of grudge against either him or Darkfall. {mod edit}

I would rather see a delay then a game released still in a "beta" state and fumble around for three months while it's population gets crushed and never recover.

No clue why people cry over a delay, they are delaying the game so they can improve the game.

Inquisition (Skull Throne/Order) has a few open spots on the roster. Looking for 2 RP's, 2 AM's and 1IB that are ready to fight. We are running rvr groups constantly, interested in players who are logging in a solid amount of time to benefit the guild.

Inquisition is taking  apps for Warhammer(US/Est/Order). All of our membership info is on our site here so I won't give a long of a "hype" speech about us.

We have been together since EQ1 and plan on staying with WAR for the long haul unless it pulls an AoC on us.  We will have a starting roster of around 30-35 and like to keep membership around 40-50 solid skilled players throughout any game we play. Looking for about 5 full time members to keep the roster solid.  Inq never really recruits before a game is released but we do have a small group of members playing the "wait and see" game after they were burned from Age of Conan and would like to fill those spots. Our member retention is very high, we have the right mix of skill, order and a family environment that allows members to have a blast and while getting things done. Looking for mature gamers not suffering from any social or mental disorder who have the ability to mesh with an already established group.

We will be in the 3 day head start and most of us have been in beta for some time.

Solid info, thanks

Cya, and thank you.

I have to say this game has been very disappointing.

1. Instances everywhere. You have these giants doors in the middle of the wilderness everywhere. How ridiculous. And you have 5 minute load times to get into these doors

2 . Invisible walls  everywhere. You cannot just roam freely around the world like in other games. You basically have to stay on the road and thats it.

3 The "revolutionary"  combat system is actually just pressing 1,2,3 over and over again.

4. very buggy and crashes all the time. A game 2 weeks from release shouldn't have this many bugs.

5 Very laggy around other people. You need a really good computer to play this game.

6 very poor skill customization. Very few skill to choose from. Can't choose your stats and such

The game has good graphics , but thats about it. It doesn't really have anything else good going for it. I know they haven't shown us the whole game, but this is the part they wanted to show us. And this part isn't very good.

The only thing that could save the game is if the PVP and sieges are really good.  I will have to wait and see on that. I certainly won't be  buying this game now.

Well to start by looking at your post history , you seem really objective.  Ill respond to a couple of your points there which particularly stand out over the others showing you either don't have the ability to grasp this game at your current stage of development or  have very limited knowledge of this game.

3. While I don't think much these days is revolutionary the combat system is much more in depth then you make it out to be. You start with 1,2,3 keys and start to gain combo's as you level up and such other abilities as stances and other buffs, and then add 4 and 5 keys(if you are a melee class). So you have your 5 directions, self buffs(offensive or defensive), stances and combos while your are in combat. This is more then almost every other game out there leaving you TONS of choices in combat.

Now what is the difference if there is an arrow or a graphic of a sword with the words "ruby slash" on it? No matter what mmo you play you will still be clicking attacks, you trying to say since there is a direction on the button you are clicking it feels different or that when you play an mmo you prefer going into auto attack?

5. Yes, it crashes and stutters from time to time but not nearly as much as past MMO's ive tested, some of which have gone on to do very well.

6. Poor skill customization? You have your basic Archetype skills you get points for as you level up. You have 2 class specific feat tree's and one achetype specific feat tree and a 4th PvP feat tree.

As far as choosing starting stats...that has proven pointless in most games. By the time your character reaches the higher levels the initial few points spent don't amount to anything.

i don't hate it...the game just isn't right for me.

Aside from the graphical errors.....i found the 1-2-3 directional attack fun, even quite refreshing at first, but after a while it started to bore me alot. i got 3 characters, 2x level 8s, 1x level 11....and in the end...i felt very confined to those three buttons...even forgetting at times i had specials to use

Having a great time.

Combo's are the entire flair and essence of the melee classes, so no wonder you feel its not right for you. Your probably right.

I would imagine that this gets better later on in the game.  But even when I tried the tempest of set.  The level 1 club you get from the tutorial does more damage over time than my casting does.  The casting time + recharge (60 - 130) vs 30-40 damage a swing.     The club is level 1, I imagine a even higher level weapon would put my casting damage more to shame.

I tried a couple classes.  IF more than one mob gets on the caster, makes it that much worse on damage.  With the meleer. I could run in and mow down 4 mobs way faster than the caster can 1-2 shot them because of casting time and recharge not to mention lower hitpoints on top of that.   Casters seem way below par in compaired to the meleer types so far.

This is where 90% of the negative feedback is coming from for this game...laughable. Go back to nap Nappers.

Craete a offensive pure caster, test that and you should find different results, not a priest archetype.

The bottom line is this game is very solid in both PvE and PvP from my experience with the game. Ive played the majority of worthwhile (and some not so worthwhile) mmo's since EQ1.

The only people who might even have a slight reason to complain would be the very pure hardcore pvp'er due to a few questionable pvp design choices. But overall the game runs very smooth and even smoother then before with the new Cheetah 2 engine, melee combat once properly learned is very fun, graphics are up to par, they will be having a FFA pvp server so the carebear factor is down to a minimum , very creative and well designed classes, plenty of ways to spec your char, great looking weapons and armor, self built guild cities, open war over towers, keeps, resources, fast/brutal combat system, the initial starter area while somewhat linear are still a blast to play, great interaction with NPC's, fun storyline/quest lines,  etc......

At no point do I think anything is revolutionary about AoC or WAR or any MMO in development for that matter. Almost everything has been done before in one game or another to some degree or another. An MMO is an MMO anyway you slice it, no amount of hype will change that, but this game is very solid and will do great.

The majority of negative feedback is from gamers who have not had a real chance with the game/don't feel like learning something new, pure conjecture, or just goofs who want to bash a product.

who gting this game i am not however i am going back to good old vangurd ^_^ online have fun guys. i will probly gt it later on who knows ^_^

Thanks for weighing in hoss. I can now sleep at night knowing what Shinobi234 will be playing.

I really could not make it through this thread due to the fact that its so insane, but.....I find it hilarious that the OP (or anyone for that matter) has a character that is all about tripping enemies rofl.... Is that called trip spec of something? I played D&D up to 2nd ed.( i don't know shat about 3rd ed +) Has the rule set fallen so low that this is a legitimate way to design a character? Or has Turbine lost their mind in their translation...

So I roll up on a lich king and my first move is to walk up and trip it? Is it possible to trip a mob to death? Rofl...  Who would have thought it was that easy all along.

Its nice to see new SS's and videos coming out.

However I fail to see what is so amazing about these SS's. The character model design is not all that great, the armor design is nothing special compared to what is already out. Do you like the colors or something? There are plenty of games already out and coming out which look much nicer with better character model and armor design.

That being said the game idea itself is great and I will be playing, but I begin to wonder about the community when SS's like this get such rave reviews...

Have you seen the state of Daoc's FFA servers??

FFA failed in this game big time,

Andred and Mordred, PRE TOA (which is what classic is pretty much) was one of the greatest PvP experiences ever in any game. Ask anyone who was there. Almost every top PVP (and some PVE) guild was there.

And yes, I have seen the current state of their FFA server, hence the first line in my original post.

Agree 100% . Although it would be tough considering all the different housing issues and naming issues but I think the good outweighs the bad here. It would revitalize the game right before its going to take a huge hit as new MMO's are released. Might help them retain subs.

As I'm posting this there are 30 people on Mordred.

Imo if Mythic opens up a Classic FFA server it will def attract some more people to return. My entire guild alone (aprox 50 members) would all return which is more then who is currently on the entire Mordred server.

Just a thought, what do they have to lose at this point? Opening now before open beta starts on AoC,WAR and DF,etc.. would be smarter then waiting Imo.

I was in the same boat a few months back. Roll on Classic, hands down much more fun if your starting fresh.

DAOC Pre-TOA.
