want to add that they fixed this around " Join Date: Apr 2007

" So I would assume you are using an older client, and would recommend you download the latest hi res client.
In vista you also need to set the lotro client to administrative settings |

7600GT is a lower end card , I would take it back and get a 8800GT for almost the same price . 7600GT won't perform that well and also the HD 4000 series are out and have ddr5 ram ... why did you by a 7600GT ?.? I hade the same pproblems with the 8600GT , so I recommend the 8800GT or an HD3000 or HD 4000 card .

Originally posted by openedge1 It is also a known fact that less time in game, will equal a more stable environment. If your computer does not have time to even heat up from your 30 minute or 1 hour playing session, you can easily bypass many issues. For example, I can quote at least 4 people right now who have had ZERO stability issues in AoC. Of course they maybe play an hour a day. When I played AoC for 2 hours or more, the client became more unstable. Yet, everytime I logged into LOTRO, I instantly got the hitching. Guess it just varies for different people. I guess the real goal here is to see how long a player needs to play to be satisfied with their game. LOTRO fans are very avid about their game being "Awesome" sauce, yet, AoC has the same rabid fans. So far both games show a player base who play 1-3 hours at most in the majority. Yet, why do so many others see issues in these games. If the game is so perfect to someone, why cant another person enjoy it as much as that fan? This poll is very interesting Crashes in any software game usually occur in the first 20 minutes of game play if it is a software problem, hardware can take several hours before the computer just dies and says reboot me. |

THey can't handle the fact that people here in this forum ,for the most part who play the game give Turbine 100% support , and might I add with happy faces LotRo client has not crashed for in over 10 months..... Vanguard client still crashes atleast 1 or 2 times a week..... When I did the AoC OB that client was crashing over 20 times in 3 hours.........I think you will see people come to a more stable game which they can actually play for periods of time with hassle, upping the player base by 5% by christmas .. When Mines of moria releases it will be Number 1 on the NPD at launch . |

Turbine are professionals, They learned so much from AC2 that it truly shows in this game. Anyone who can lose a game title and not go under and out of business is doing something correctly from a developer and management end. LotRO is just released , it gave no promises to pvp in development and it is a "Lets see if this works" approach that is really paying off for Turbine. Not only did they say them selves that MP was alast minute idea, and to me that says a lot, if this what they can do "last minute" imagine what they can do in years ...

LOL so you play Shadowbane now ? I knew aoC was weak GvP (gank vs player) Hope you have a good time in Shadowbane Avery , it is a great PVP game. I think LotRO Monster Play is a lot more dynamic then people think. You aren't just going into the moors as a freep to pvp , there is some serious loot to get from quests, and having human players inside the monsters really makes completing those quest a lot more difficult. No other game has this kind of dynamic interaction between player vs player. You either get it, or you don't . A lot, A lot of people get it and enjoy it, creating rivalries and just all around epic battles between good vs evil. This is just the beginning lol, I bet you that Mordor will be the biggest MPVP arena ever constructed by man lol .... |

Why is it taking so long? How much time a week do you actually play. How many other games do you play? How many max level characters do you have (because according to this post...none). You have been adamant that the content is enough to keep you occupied, yet if we average you game time, you maybe spend...30 minutes a day or less playing. I am really interested to hear why...If you are not bored, I base it totally on the fact you hardly ever log in to even give the game any attention in the first place. I am really fascinated in why you have not even maxed one character yet. Read the post above yours. BTW, I never cared for only the books. Been playing since pre-launch, capped my first char about 10 months later. But, until very recently, I progressed only as far as Book 7. Why? Because there were SO many other things to do, leveling alts, gathering traits, exploring new areas (Evendim, Misty mountains east, Tal Bruinen, Forochel), that somehow I was always "distracted" :) And since I usually have max 2-3 hours to play in one sessions (but most often 1 or less), If I can't find a group to do exactly those FS quests that I need: then I just solo or craft. Happens very very often. Regardless of how much time do I have for playing, be it 20 minutes or 5 hours: there is _always_ something to do! (Recently if I have 10 minutes, I log in, check if anything sold in the AH, see if I can buy some rare trophy to finish my old 1 shot recipes, check if my concession jobs have timed out yet or not, and if I still have a couple of minutes, I go for fishing.) This game just keeps getting better :) DB
Best mmorpg on the market in my opinion. There is just something joyful seeing Hobbits running about |

I am really fascinated in why you have not even maxed one character yet. I have no level 50's . My current character is level 48 , on book 5 chapter 5 . I am also a founder, I play about 2 to 5 times a week on extended play. I take my time and do a lot, a lot of interacting with other players. I am done rushing around, I'm in the game world to have fun and play "my" game. Endgame is no where in site (mordor) so what is the point of rushing all around As a founder I rolled a Hunter, but at level 35 I my heart was telling me "dude your a Guardian" so I rolled a Guardian , getting him Undying took a while .. lol... but he is Undying and I've been playing him ever since. Also I'm a huge Monster player and sometimes get cuaght up on monster play for month or 2 . Though my Black Arrow is Rank 4 now becuase I been playing my Guardian. Another thing is that I am preparing for school, as well as riding mountian bike a lot more and trying to get off the computer as much as posible. So there is a lot of factors , you know having a life |

Seems you just click through quests ? I used to do that at first but found it bbetter to read them. Usually after the end of each book the last npc you went to close the chapter and book will automatically pop up the next npc you need to journey to to start the next part. I do beleive chapter 4 is Elrond . |

I don't play everyday ,, but when i do play it is usually an extended amount of time. Found out with Lineage 2 that it is easy to get burned out after playing for years at record paces. LotRO lends it self to people who used to be hardcore and now are just into a great game with great features with a great community. |

I think there's a pretty good impact with dx10. The shadow maps are defined, instead of blob like tree shadows, you have actual tree limbs and leaves mapped out, the diffusing of the water edge istead of that hard line on the waters edge. Over all effect density is enhanced like partical effects, like in this image.. With dx9 you wouldn't get that deep layered effct. This image you can see also the the depth that dx10 gives This Image below was when dx10 was first introduced and you see how the limbs and leaves are individually mapped ... and that mapping pretty much is what creates the depth and ehananceds the game, When you run your player through those shadows they cast onto the player as well so it is an all around dynamic effect. Dx10 has many different components, all for enhancing a game, motion blurrs , different lava and atmospheric effects as well as more innovated ways to cut down on processing these effect and giving developers more power and more flexibility for the games. Turbine is taking what I consider solid baby steps with the technology and I am sure by the time we reaxcch Mordor they will have master the craft. |

(or that people would start using the LFF tool...) But the reason people dont group is because its easier to solo and there is too many solo quests :) I am almost done with ND quests, I haven't started in either Evendim or Trollshaws.
I totally agree that grouping is more fun. The problem with current MMO's and leveling is that solo play is much more rewarding, I agree. They should encourage group play while leveling by getting rid of the XP penalty or something like that. Trust me when I say, you will not run out of content. Even when you reach 50 your quest manager will be full. Now book 14 is coming... more quests How far are you in the chapter quests ? grouping can be a lot of fun when you least expect it ... |

Think it was very well introduced to the Lotro as well. Turbine didn't make it a focal point or a circus that dx10 was going into the game. It seemed like an effortless achievement too, "O and in this patch we have dx10" Turbine should be a roll model for young developers |

This is almost a complete sham if they didn't even build AoC from the ground up . I feel very good now that I didn't wait for the game and chose a different , polished and professionally produced title. Kind of fitting the game is on Eidos, cause most of the title Eidos picks up are lower then mediocre. |
