The game is great. Just because you don't like the armor and weapon designs doesn't mean u get to speak for the entire "Westerners" lol?

I live in the US and happen to enjoy the FANTASY that is in FANTASY GAMES. Maybe you should try another mmo instead of complaining about this one? Where does complaining get you anyway? If I don't like a game a just don't play it or comment on it. I MOVE ON.

I want to have a huge weapon and flashy animations because otherwise mmo's combat to me is just BORING.

I kind of agree with OP post. I can honestly say that I am probably one of the few people that actually do enjoy MMO grinds. I don't like doing it sometimes but it makes the game last longer and more enjoyable when with several others grinding together.

It does enhance the PVP, Character Development, and Community.

I really am sad to see so many people wanting to be max level so fast. Once you are max level, there really isn't all that much to do but jump around "Ironforge"

I understand that MMOs dont give you all of the skills right away, which is to be expected. I was just saying that the difficulty of the mobs seemed a bit higher than your standard mmo today. 

Ive played almost all of the mmos out and everytime I would go hunt mobs it would be way 2 ez to kill them. Im not saying that I cant kill a mob in Aion in a few seconds, Its just that sometimes they do give me a run for my money.

Some of the 4 dot mobs are actually tough!

Also, I find the group play fun because of the mobs scaling to the party size.

If the combat is too boring for you maybe its the class you chose? Although Im sure in higher levels all of the classes will be interesting due to more skills.

oh and grinding games can be fun if you always have a party to log into and play with. Sometimes grinding solo is boring, but when you have a set group of ppl that always grind together it can actually be kind of relaxing. I guess for me it just brings me back to when I first got the internet and all I could do was chat lol. Now I can play a game and get some good convo goin at the same time. plus pvp ofcourse.

Aion is challenging. I think thats one thing that I really enjoy about the game. For so long I played WoW and could just completely destroy mobs no matter my lvl. In Aion the mobs can be hard to kill and exciting.

The fact that its linear in the starting areas is fine with me. Not really a game breaker for me as long as the game is fun to play and brings cool looking areas.

Its not really and azn grind fest either. Although personally I enjoy those games because I hate being max level so fast! + it makes pvp more interesting.

ive been trying to get my girl to play an mmo with me. I figured since she already plays sims2 that it might not be that hard to get her to like it. Not true. :( I got some work to do lol.

pvp penalty gives more excitement during pvp. plz stfu cuz u dont know what ur talking about and obviously are a newb when it comes to pvp in real games.

I played on the first US server. I forget the name. I hardly ever experienced any lag. I did get some rubberbanding but that only happened maybe a couple times over the entire weekend of playing.

It is in beta so I really expected it to be worse.

instances are suck. outdoor bosses are win.

 You need to pre-order the game to play in the closed betas. You won't be able to play if you don't have a beta key. I would suggest you go to your local gamestop and pre-order a copy for yourself. It only costs 5 bucks and that 5 bucks goes towards your purchase in September. Inside the box will be a card with a key and instructions to download the game. I'm sure you could also do it online. I would post the link to download it, but I don't have it near me atm. 

If you want to play in another countries version of the game besides North America, I cannot help you. 

So they are going to put in a battleground. I really hope it doesn't take away from world PVP, or Abyss PVP. The one thing that killed WoW for me was the introduction of BG's. Everyone stayed in the BG's and the world was empty except those questing. I really think they could do without this.

I just started again, im on phoenix server this time. Curious to what server you are on? The newbie zones are always going to be kind of empty because of how old the game is. The population isn't actually that bad once you get a few more levels, at least on phoenix it looks fine.

Thanks for trying to help. I tried to have my roommates connect to the site and they cant either, so that means it must be my university blocking it. =(

I will try to go through a router, see if it helps.
