you pretty much hit the nail on the head.... the truly disgusting attitude of the general community on AoC (ingame and on the forums)

there are always trolls (as many of us were shamelessly labelled) in an MMO, but the general populace acted like complete and utter douchebags and then flamed anyone that challenged them on it and hid behind the excuse "this is a mature game"....

Unfortunately, FunCom seems to think that "mature" = being utter fools without anyone being held accountable for their actions

Why cant we seem to find a game that promotes a "mature" attitude.... grown up, adult, nonchildlike, not mature as in blood/gore/content, but mature as in maturity level.... closest I have found has been EVE online.

Anyway, welcome to these boards, and I hope you find an MMO to your liking.

800000 boxes sold (at release) X $49 = $39,200,000

20% of that = $7,840,000

game cost between $40-50 mil.....

1st month they take in NO revenue (retail box paid for one month)

2nd month people already started leaving.... (even if they didnt, its only $12 mil)...

Funcom is operating a sinking ship.

I know I said I was done posting about the AoC for awhile, but then they pulled this PR stunt and I couldnt resist...lol... (and Rebn77 gave me permission...lol)

My gut tells me that one reason FunCom hasnt said anything about server merges is because they are kinda wondering if its to late for that. (you dont do a server merge IF <big IF> you are contemplating shutting the servers down completely...)

So on the one hand, I expect their Q2 report to be alot of spin... HOWEVER, they dont dare spin these reports to their investors as blatantly as they have lied to us.... so....

on the other hand, they could allow us all to see the abmismal  truth in the unadulterated form... This would silence the fanbois, AND cause many of the most diehard AoC fanbois to quit themselves, (something FunCom cant afford to do)

Server merges may be a mute point atm.....

Like most, I became a hater of AoC about 1 month - 6 weeks into the game. I was a fanboi before that and was blind to the truth that failcom put out.

But, now my anger has calmed down. So, in light of this, I am not going to waste anymore posts on AoC. I ranted, I moaned, I vented, I screamed.... but now its time to move on.

See you guys around some of the other game forums. I may post here from time to time, (looking forward to the 15th and hearing failcom SPIN their Q2 2008 numbers... should be interesting.
