300 million costs of a highly succesful korean mmorpg, what can i say? it's so easy it's sad, in an odd way.

YES it has WASD controle... so all rejoice and hug yourself of Happiness!!! For those who fear the worst, it should ahve the wasd feeling of WoW and other old fast paced games like Risk Your Life, the first RyL1 ofc., so all i can say is... If it's like RyL, it's totally saved for life, if it's like wow's wasd, then it's okay.

Marked 18+ for many reasons other, than brutal violence i guess, heh? Nevertheless i suppose that's going to be another entertaining thing, beating up monster chicks, with monster nipples. More fun, more hilarious, more sick, and more brutal. |

Make the mmos playable on systems that only has 512mb ram and 1ghrz comp, with an old gfx card. To all those companies just thinking about making a mmo that req. a massive system, look at woW and, then EQ2, which one has most customers? which one is most succesful? EQ2 is still rather hard to get on the desired gfx levels, and it looks horrid on normal systems, while wow looks quite good even on the lower settings. So please, don't believe that everyone who plays mmorpgs has a system of 4Ghrz, 2g ram+, and the latest GFX card, it's stupid and will bring you nowhere. It's nice to have the option to use your newest systems and set the settings at maximum in your mmorpg but make sure that the fellah on the 1ghrz 512mb ram also can enjoy his playtime, because through that people will also be able to play it on thier laptops, which is only a bonus.

I loved the part, with the companies and silly promise... WoW, Hero classes rings a bell, anyone? It was the thing that kept me believing, there was a reason for quick level'in towards 60, where from then on the hero class would be some sort of epic journey. Such a shame... Just hate it when companies gives out a promise about something so damn important and awesome, then try to hide it away quickly after release. WoW is nothing but a crackgame now, with 7 million junkies worldwide. |

I certainly hope there will be a wasd controle feature added, never been a fan of "point and click". Then again those who seem to spite bad stuff about this game and saying they are playing CB, are far from constructive, thus thier points are as valueable a piece of dirt is, guess untill someone makes a constructive post about CB, we'll just have to wait for OB. |

Yes the whole combat and training system, trying to make it look like real martial arts, makes it quite interesting, i just hope they go open beta soon, so we'll be able to have a taste on the product, without having too many bugs that could ruin the fun ofcourse. The whole nameless hero, drunken master, and other martial movies over it, could overhype it so be careful, i myself seem rather doomed as i've always been a fan of the old drunken master and old kung fu movies, what a shame that it would probably be unlikely to make a succesful newbiw start like drunken master, as doing all the dirty work. So liqour coins seems fair enough heh. One thing is for sure, it might very well be a very refreshing mmorpg to set your foot into, just hope there won't be too many complications. |

I would have to admit that 2Moons brings the inner child of me alive, because it reminds me of the first sega console with Mortal kombat... But i'm sure there are many men around, who grave for thier inner child's lust for mortal kombat alike battles once more. The question that would really boil your head would probably be, what game does actually qualify for adults only, while the teens won't like it? A trivial persuit mmorpg? Even those can be fun with a little liqour aside for the young people, so i guess, there really doesn't exist a true "adult only" game, it's like saying porn movies are only seen by adults, we all know that's bogus. How acclaim is going to make sure it's only 18+ year-olds are playing is something i'll leave for them to decide. |

World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade FAQ Updated

Hmm wonder where Hero advancement went... WoW is really turning into a pile of excuses now, we need a powerhouse of a mmorpg to put blizzard into place, so they'll begin to actually go back to the things which made everyone wonder at the best of best. Currently they really are just taking the easy road. Since they have removed hero level advancement from the "in the future to come" page, it's pretty obvious they won't bother with it, untill another mmorpg beats them and they lose loads of customers, cause that's the only way companies think, gaining and losing money. Can't wait for Age of Conan or try out 2Moons... |

The virtual world has simple deluded the normal "pretty" and "beautiful" and somehow believe it's the same as "hot" and "sexy"... The teens dig it and the young women probably believe "sexy" equals beasutiful at some points. The ideals lie around looking like almost as if you were a homosexual guy, or some muscle tinman, with a pinch of stand-up comedian, while with young women it's about looking some sort of pornstar just because you happend to see Britney or Christina in almost no clothes, while the business looks seems to bring most on the escape route. looks looks looks... i picked tauren just because of racial abilities, had i wanted looks i would probably been an orc or an elf (lol).

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes: New Combat Video
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/21/06 6:15:41 AM
the fact they went to next scene after each attack motion had been done, worries me greatly, if they want slow paced combat that's okay but they sure have to make sure that the player doesn't feel like he's sitting with a 5 second auto attack weapon that would just be horrid. I really hope they, for themselves, don't turn it into a sleeping pill. |

Age of Conan: Behind the Scenes: Beta Feedback
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/20/06 4:16:08 PM
Seems like nice changes to me, being able to do the first lvls with some close friends if you like, not every tale has to be about a single man or woman finally claiming freedom, might as well be 2 friends claiming it aswell. nevertheless it seems like a good change, especially since you could, if you wanted, just do it solo from scratch, so what if your "conan" meets the cunning fellah a little earlier, as long it's optional and not forcing you. I surely can't wait to try age of conan out... it just makes you wanna watch Conan, the barbarian. |

I mean don't you read the newspaper to read interesting new and funny things, not some complete gibberish, with no connection towards the subjects? When i read such things i would like to see some insight and what's might be in store for the future, without having some sort "i got 5 dollars to write, happy bunny must buy!".
Steve simply glorified something with an article that might have been nice 2 years ago as a preview but surely not a "2 years later...", I'm really sorry but it failed badly. And the 3 days of UO just kills his creditability by those old school mmorpg'ers, i'm not one myself but having some guy writing articles with more years mmorpg experience than the readers is normally a nice thing because, then he'll have more things to compare with and if he's a quite objective fellah, then it's simply for the better and will seem more true and fair, so you can actually use his views. It might sound stupid but it's okay for the reader to be narrowminded, as long the article writers aren't that's the reason why readers are readers and not writers after all, right? |

I am prolly never gonna find my game but if the mmorpg producers take some of the good things from wow and make it more complex along with adding more controle around it they might very well succed, they might not get as many subs as wow, since it wouldn't be as easy ect. but it would atleast serve as a nice game towards the right circle. Wow made you feel a sorta constant progress, untill you hit 60, if another game can keep it going like that´, with a lvl cap of 150 or whatever which takes ages to get but yet make people feel constant progress in other forms than just exp and items, then we are on the right step. In other words there needs to be some sort of constant progress through items being swapped for better and "smoother looking" along with lvl'in and new abilities or combos and alike, at last there needs to be a third where wow has tradeskills ect. but it also ended at almost same pace as lvl 60. Don't forget a nice amount of content with places that doesn't look like the other one, with a story of it's own, along with thier villains and demons alike, and ofc. an instance where you can venture for the unknowing with your friends with hectic battles and fast paced, yet long fights, with it's own tale to tell. I am asking for the impossible, i know. level - item - skillpoint/tradeskills/finetuning, as soon one drops off the game goes down hill. But in the end, it doesn't matter how cool your blazer and jeans where last year, it won't be as fancy as it was, there always have to be some changes that makes it feel new and fresh.
WoW as simple it was, it was solid, it had peaks, and a little new but i was only in love with the game when it was 1-60 along with the valor and bluegear days, the rest was just wowcrack.
Age of Conan and 2Moons, conan got it's great old myth and legends with it's combat system of nice realtime combat and good load of controle, not to forget it's bloody and brutal world it is. 2moons is as bloody and brutal as Age of conan with it's own special and fast combat system with cutting and decapitating finishers, not to forget it implementing instance system. Their combat only is more complex and advanced than wow, makes them just that much interesting... i always hated seing how a 3.7 speed weapon could look so awful stupid and boring. Which goes over to another game that had a nice amount of action and decent pace of even 2hander weapons, RyL1, it just lacked content, such a shame cause it had potential. |

Wow was fun while it lasted but when you have done as good as everything possible, with only the end game instances left (cleared most of them along with couple of naxx bosses) you just run into a boring rince and repeat. I think wow is first hitting the "boring" sign now, as expansion is closing in, which might be overhyped, people expecting things to renew thier love but wow can no longer give what i want, because for a year i was nothing more than a raidslave, seing it as the only progression left, there are no skill point system or hard to hit lvl, which i somehow didn't fond before but now i see the reason. When you realize that the items you gather might make you think you got stronger it's only marginal, many if not most are stuck in it, with all the addons it's no wonder that 30 bonus overall dps could make you thrill for some time. Many people play just because thier friends does and in their guilds. I remember when i started wow, it would have nothing to do with some pranky huge guild just me and friends having fun for many months it was like that but then people started venturing into MC, as interesting it all was it was the beginning of the end. Now i'm sorta looking for a mmo that grants progression without having the game controle when you have to play instead of you just playing when you feel like it. I am all in all looking for a game where you do not achieve max lvl within few weeks but a game with constant progression, a game where it's not the 40-man dungeon or monster that decides "you're progressing for an item" but instead you can go into an instance 8 months after and be there because you still are far from max lvl but there's things to be found there and most importantly of all, you will be there with close friends of 3 or 5. What game can give that sort of feeling? the ability to solo throughout, yet still instancefun with friends for glory, xp, and treasure, with a spice of action and bloody mess? Age of Conan or 2Moons? Only time will tell but one thing is for sure, WoW seems dead to me and looks like just another heavy guild raiding game, as EQI-II looked like, now.
In short: Wow still casual? don't make me laugh, it's just how good they can keep that thought of denial alive, which makes people continue to play. As soon you hit lvl 60 it all changes, 1-59 is the only casual solo play. Regards- a player, who played wow from open beta and throughout retail till a couple months ago. |
