Cause this site is full of people who hate WoW, otherwise WoW woulda won.

We have a winner among the "may be right" guy/chick.

Hell i'm surprised WoW's votes being number 2.... Either it means not many on the site are active or that, some people actually aren't that spiteful as you might have thought, obviously when you look at the grand picture, it's still THE site to be on if you got mocked and bullied by blizzard people in your school days.

In the end, it doesn't matter who made the first milkshake, what matters is whose milkshake tastes better.

Ow, the WAR fanboi planned his next assault!

Rofl, best PvP WAR will ever provide it seems, forum WAR :p

Edit: Anyone who believes this guy actually played Wotlk and knows what he's talking about, please... lol, supposedly his guild cleared all the raid content in a week or so yet he won't name them nor his characters. He's been condemning Wotlk PvP mechanics from the start yet doesn't seem to realize his 74 character (last time he did that) isn't even *able* to experience the new PvP Wotlk offers ... rofl.

At least he's trying though :p

Haha awesome!  =)

Honestly Greyhoff is a WAR fanboi spindoctor.

He hasn't seen anything and the fact, when he talked about challenges, saying "his guild did this and that, when it was hard", just shows how easier it makes us to know what we already knew, that he was talking crap out of his bloody arse.

Seriously, when it comes to tough as hell encounters, it's got to be, good old MC, BWL, AQ40, and old naxx.

I am sure Blizzard will up the challenge margin according to those a little but then again, blizzard wants most, if not everyone, to experience end game, so sadly it has to be by cutting off our "hardcore" limb.

The best pve guilds are still up there so really, those who got the team coordination will still be ahead of the others, though Mr. spindoctor Greyhoof might tell us he's a true genius, we'll most likely laugh at that claim.

I, myself am playing WotLK and love it, hard to think of it's been 8 months since i last played the game but it feels new at many points, and yet familiar, the most important thing being, still quality entertainment above all.  No other mmorpgs can, nor ever will, reach Wotlk, unless they really pull themselves together, and lets face it, Mythic didn't pull them selves together, else they wouldn't have released already, they would have waited till they had more of the the content.

But they just thought of something old, and now useless, claim, blizzard did the same thing, 4 years ago, yes perhaps they did but their game at the time had the most polished mmorpg in history and had loads of content, 4 years later they were a massive hulk of content and pretty much getting there to have put all what once was on the "to do list".  They pull off, what was okay 4 years ago, their game would have challenged wow, 4 years ago but not today.....

Today WoW stands victorious once again, because none of it's enemies comes prepared, they all RUSH... when they should be patient and grow some wisdom before attacked the slumbering titan.

WAR is dead,  you never get a second chance for first impressions, thus AoC is dead as well, even though it has improved but it should first have been released now, but they failed to listen at wisdom, they were too eager and now lie dead at the feet of the mountain.

Conan faced off with Cromm and died a horrible death.  Order and Chaos got iced by the massive Blizzard, the massive twillight zone, the undying legion.

Only left contestant, Aion, who didn't rush, who watched as AoC and WAR, eagerly tried to face off with the impossible as none of them knew how to fight their enemy.

Lets see how it all fairs.... boy did i write much, too much.

So I took the advice of people on here, bought the xpac and played it, levelling my warrior to 73.

I have to say, I'm already bored - it's the same thing as I did in TBC and quite frankly the graphics are terrible, blocky and the armors look awful (it doesn't help that I'm a human and the human models are blocky and ugly)

The quests are the same old stuff, and although there's some cutscene bits, it's the same gather xp by doing pointless stuff that I've seen before. There's no decent PVP, and I miss the tactics and immediate PVP from Warhammer, where I levelled by doing a rotation of scenarios while questing and doing PQ stages.

I'll continue to 80 and farm Naxx 25man, Malygos and Sart with my old guild for a bit. They've already killed every boss in the game and I'll just pick up the epics when I get there, but for now I find the expansion to be a boring, easy and soulless cash-cow.

No, you didn't buy Wrath, and no you don't know jack about it, you're just saing you bought it to say crap like this.

The GFX in northrend is far superior to Warhammer in EVERY single way, it isn't blocky at all, what maschine are you playing on? a Commandore 64?

I've seen loads of fun reference quest, not to mention the special lore quests with special events, you are utterly full of bs, i've seen so many funny reference quests to movies and characters from 70-72, more than vanilla wow and TBC combined.

"I miss the tactics and immediate PVP from Warhammer"

Haha, oh dear god, are you serious?  Warhammer was a bloody dumbed down version of WoW and in the "tactic", it was zerg, zerg, and bigger zerg, all about numbers and no tactics.

I am enjoying  WoW once again, after 8 months not playing it, and i can without a doubt say that you aren't one of the people playing the game, else you would have told things differently, at least told something that actual would sound like you played it.

For some reason I just don't think Ozzy, Mr. T or most of the ''famous'' peeps in the comercials actually play WoW, but they sure landed one hell of a marketing scheme I'll give blizz that much.

Sorry but many celebs who you wouldn't think of playing WoW, does play it.

It's a mmorpg where both the cheerleader, the quarterback, and the geeky IT boy, could be playing together, without knowing, WoW is a social hub.

here's a nice link if you are interested in how many celebs actually play wow.  forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html

how do we know this one not also might be hacked?  xD

But honestly, last option,  format your (your friend's that is, all "your is directed at whom it might be) main drive, reinstall everything while not connected to a network, have the latest anti virus version ready on a cd or something, install it run test, shouldn't find anything since you formatted the damn computer hehe, now you are safe from scratch now you can reinstall WoW and what not again.

Now make your pass hard as hell and be careful what you click on and visit from now on. But it's most likely malware on your/his comp.

In the end tell your friend to stop downloading pron and visiting fancy places, unless he's well protected by firewalls and anti virus programs.

so much hate... WotLK is nothing but great, i love the new lore system, the Death knight is very well made, maybe too good hehe but very fun nevertheless.

Northrend is beautiful place and it really is something else.

I can't even fathom how some people say some other mmorpg might be better, WoW has no equal, it didn't get the massive subs through luck, it got it because it was the best around, no it's not mc. donald so stop it already, i know you haters have some problems,s ince you can't stand wow for some reason and have to go to these forums, even though you don't play the game and spout nonsense.

blizzard has done it, we will very soon see a 12 mill subs announcement.

At least that is a qualified guess, since all the servers have massive queues now... argh....

And what exactly does it have to do with us who doesn't have (nor want to) 68 hours to spend straight for nothing but braindead rushing?

Seriously by rushing you miss out so much, this news ain't a strike to anyone, who cares if someone had like 40 liters of energy drinks around and planned out every single place to be to level?

Players who take their time and enjoy the ride will be level 80, at a decent pace where they won't feel it took too long, nor too short.

For every normal mmorpg player the ride will take between 1 to 4 weeks, to get there, and it never stopped there either.

so no, not disturbing nor anything, go back to your cave, or enhoy the game, though i suspect you aren't even playing it ?

8 months since i played WoW, and wow, what a smack down wotlk (good way, so you don't misunderstand it) was to me, it was really great, well i didn't expect any less from blizzard, so cheers to them.

I did indeed start a death knight, my favourite hero in warcraft 3, and boy do i wish my old warrior was this fun, i mean this amount of abilities at your hand is insane, to say the least, at least for my unholy spec'd Death knight. There are like 5 Aoe spells alone to be used in 2-3+ pulls, and just for the single attacks there are at least 3 chains to go through, i really like how they have made the death knight this way, the disease powering up others and how they do fatal damage, when you got as many diseases on the target and plow a scourge strike in their face or erupt all diseases with blood boil, not to mention how death strike leeches even more health with it, blood strike which is like mini version of scourge strike but also turns blood runes into death runes (with talents).

This class is really fun for those players who don't want only 4 attack abilities they use all the time, the death knight have a nice amount of different combo chains according to which enemy you have or how many.  If there wasn't a global cooldown Death knights surely would be overpowered.  =P

I hope blizzard will keep this up and hopefully make all other classes have such nice new chains of power surges.

The new event system is really great too, i never thought this system would make the whole gaming experience that much more interesting, really shows how far mmorpgs can go, no more static envirements.

Now i wish i had more sparetime to actually play this game more often.   Wish i had a 10th of bill gate's moneys  xD

Dear god, look at these spoiled brats saying all this crap and QQ'ing to no end, you truly have forgotten how mmorpgs were in the past haven't you? Or are you just a spoiled brat IRL (young little one too)?

Blizzard are obviously doing this remorse right? Luaghable at the least, they are actually doing their best, things happen that no one can foresee and blizzard happened to get unlucky on unexpected issues.

Now sit back and relax awright? Just because you skipped school or work doesn't mean blizzard should work even harder, they are already working as hard they can.

And if you really wanted to make sure your vacation time set off just for wotlk, then do it a few days AFTER the release, jesus... Or be prepared that bad things can happen, because they do and mostly will!!!

You bratz, get a bloody clue!

That is all.

P.S.  Getting my copy today, if it ain't working, too bad, then i will wait, simple as that, you will get the time refunded anyway, so the only thing that will be hurt is your ego.

Lol, I can't believe the posts I am reading regarding the WoW realms been down consistently over the last few days on the eve of Lich King. It really is pathetic.

I've never encountered  such an immature group of selfish people complaining and bad mouthing Blizzard just because they can't play their precious WoW regularly the last few days due to realms down.

Seriously you guys need to take a chill pill, go outside for a change, better still take a moment to think how much this game actually rules your life?

I am so glad I quit. The WoW community is just horrible, and these QQing posts just goes to show...

its not the "WoW community" that is horrible, most never come to boards like this, its the bloggers that are a pain in the arse.

It is the WoW community, that is fcked up. Look at their forums they are read only...

Look at any mmorpg forum....

I don't see any pretty princess or prince there either. Infact i do say some of them are worse. WoW forums seems to be more about trolling and how to create "a legendary thread".

When you look at how many subs WoW has and look at posts counts and regular posters, i do say WoW is the mmorpg game that has the least of their players actually visiting their game's forum.

Means that either.

A) Too many are busy just playing the game.

B) They don't give a flying fling flong about few issues that will be solved, as they already know someone is whining about it and see no need to post something similar.

C) They have played what was worse and care nil and nothing about the spoiled brats who lurks on the forums.

Honestly, the mmorpg forums are the worst, when it comes to hatred, trolling, and serious issues of  "fanboiism".

I would rather point WoW forums as "drama forums" or soap drama.  Since it just got all that is needed for some interesting dramatic stuff to happen, many of which is guild vs guild and raiding....

free PvP epics were handed out yesterday.

Hmmm... care to elaborate on the details about that?

Damn my old vanilla warrior could have used those "freepvp epics"

There will be plenty of boxes, every god damn store has learned from the initial vanilla wow release, at TBC i got my own box easy a day after, though i have to admit, the first store i was in to first check the price difference, had them sold out, funny enough it was also more expensive than the store i got it from, strange...

I hope i'm not wrong on it this year, else i'll be a lil sad, but i haven't really felt a huge urge yet but i'm sure it will explode tomorrow as i get home off work, strange thing is i got a day off the 13th, not 1 day vacation, just pure luck on my side i guess hehe.

I'll just buy a copy down in the store early morning or something i guess.

Eve is fine, after your third ship loss you should have learned about the most dangerous mistakes and there after, won't be dying any time soon.

Personally stay in a small but very good cruiser for a very very long time, or frigate if you want to, don't go for the big ships without the needed abilities to survive properly.

I always flew around in my "pvp" settings on and ratting in my BC, it worked fine and never lost it... well yet at least.

Eve is just a lil too boring at times, i hope there will come a space mmo around which is faster paced and more "merciful", when you lose your ship, even if you got all the isk needed to upgraded a whole new ship that might even be better than the one you lost, the "desire to play" is always missing, it is both as real it can get and at the same time be as annoying long to you get to the point of "mark my words!!! i will return!!!".

Playing Eve is like watchying your favourite show having so many mid season breaks that you are about to pull out your own hair.

If Eve's combat gameplay was more interesting, a little freelancer a like would be quite nice!

hilarious, yet great!  =)

To say the combat animation is bad is just wrong or you where watching CB1 video's and not the newer one's. and yes the korean sounds are very bad, but like it was said above it will be localized for western market.....again this is all old news.

The combat animations are great in this game the only mmorpg which got same fluid dynamic animations is wow, the rest are nothing but the worst, yet i'm sure some wow hater is gonna jump out and try convince people how "perfect eq2 or VG moves like", god, western mmorpgs have always been turds when it came to combat animations and dynamics compared to asian mmorpgs.

It's okay to be sceptical but don't say something that isn't right  =S

This mmorpg seems to be doing things right on every accord, also making grouping more attractive is great, been waiting for one of those which felt like it had a meaning being in groups again, outside of the dungeons, battle mini games, or Battlegrounds.

Aion looks great, moves great, and feels great.

"To date, 68 per cent of the players who listed Age of Conan as their reason for cancellation and 46 per cent of the players who listed Warhammer [Online] as their reason for cancellation have reactivated their subscriptions to World of Warcraft," said Morhaime in an Activision Blizzard financial call.

Back when I quit, I don't remember having to list that... I think there was a text box to type into... or I selected Other and they asked me to explain.

68 percent of the players who listedn AoC as their reason for leaving... then went back.

Many of those probably left again, and listed Warhammer Online as their reason.

Spinning numbers is fun, and people make a living off of it.

I hope WoW retains customer's forever... and that people always refer to it as home...

I want WoW to hold more subscriptions than any other MMO Blizzard ever releases.

I hope Blizzard is subjected to the same thing all other MMO companies have faced.

and I bet they will, so long as an MMO is released with bugs.

Compared to most of the other mmo companies, blizzard doesn't have the trouble of "fundings", they can delay their games as long they see fit, players will whine about it but they will still buy it and be deeply thankful about Blizzard not rushing the games out of the doors.

Really with a billion dollar monster which blizzard has become, they won't need to worry about fundings, deadlines for releases, or the costs it takes for a delay, they got the funds to delay a game and be certain it will sell. Others don't have that luxury, thus they rush it and there we got WAR and AoC from, the only upcoming mmorpg that could possibly have a chance is Aion, since NCsoft also have fundings to simply take their time.

In the past a company with 10 mill funds could make a mmo for a couple of thousand players, today, you need more than 50, and with blizzard's current, still secret mmo project, which was set at 250mill initial funds, you can only guess, what there will be left after that bloodbath.

I hope that the upcoming mmorpgs and companies will take lesson in AoC's and War'hammer's problems and mistakes, so we all can get the fruits of new mmorpgs, which aren't rushed but polished to the core and worth every penny.

Though we have all become spoiled brats, i remember not giving much of a thought about bugs in my old mmorpgs, today just 1 silly bug that doesn't even force you to stop playing, is a big whine hit.....

such a tough time new mmorpgs will have in store.

While it is an impressive feat this doesn't mean that WoW currently has 11 million subscribers.

And don't forget out of the 11 million, 1 million are Gold Farmers.

Good to see the uneducated people still pull out useless numbers out of their bloody arse.

Nice try, now weap at blizzard's succes, you lifeless vessels of what we call, blizzard haters.

It's like one of those jokes, where the loser keeps yapping about how close he was to winning the race, well the fact remains, the winner won, and the loser, being you, lost.

And the best part being, blizzard is the only company actually giving out what can be called accurate numbers, the rest relies on imaginary things like, "registered users, characters made, boxes sold" but at the end of the day, only blizzard got the balls to show their cards, the rest all roll on "pass/fold/out".

Gratz Blizzard, now make some more games and spent those money on those games to make more than just 1 or 2 every decade. But obviously keep the polishment and quality.

Good to see uneducated people still can't figure out that a   following a comment normally indicates the author implied some sort of humor or joke with the comment.

Ah yes here is a nice post just some time before the 11 mill announcement, maybe you will notice who wrote it too.

It has nothing to do with AoC or WaR or any other MMORPG but WoW's heyday is over. The new expansion brings nothing new. WoW will have the EXACT same gameplay next month as it did when it first launched. The MMORPG desperately needs a breath of fresh air. Too bad nothing on the horizon is promising that.

I was kinda also including this but then again i have already included myself into this ironic cycle as well, so meh. We are all fools in a garden.

But blizzard knows what they are doing and the hay day is long from over.

Anyone who remember the fun of Tarren mill, Hammerfall, and Crossroads know that BGs killed that sort of true large battle feeling.

but now there's Wintergrasp....  Hopefully it will bring back those times. And it actually got working sieges and air to air combat as well.

Not to mention D-day BG, even though it's a BG, it looks quite awesome.

In theory OP was right but the truth is, WoW is better on both remarks with the coming expansion, it's a shame because the PvP isn't quite what many really wish it to be (a little more focus would be nice).

But then we got Aion, it looks like it will have the real RvR feeling to it with the MASSIVE Abyss system.

I always thought ret. paladins as "comedy stunt jokes"  and today they still are...

I've hated paladins in vanilla, i didn't hate them much in TBC, now the horde finally got their blessings as well but i still thought paladins as a plague, since they were sorta.... goofy, just proved by their forum. "Paladins were made so i could watch pron while playing a paladin", loved that one.

More power to those who somehow found a way to keep playing a lollypop-din.
