Star Wars: The Old Republic: 'Welfare Epics'
News Discussion « General Discussion 8/03/11 11:11:53 AM
'Welfare' Epic? 'Douchebag' terminology. |

I am sorta surprised I like the game. On paper, I should not, as the game just isnt my typical style. I do like Star Trek, though I am not any kind of fanatic. But there is something about the game...I enjoy it and that is certainly good enough. You just have to try it for yourself and come to your own conclusion. |

What? Are you telling me they didnt consult with you experts before they dared call this game an MMO? WTF? |

Biggest Beta problem - uninformed Beta players
General Discussion « Star Trek Online 1/13/10 11:31:52 PM
This is a stress test. Most of the issues I see now were not in closed beta. Granted, there are bugs, of course. Granted, Klingons need to be fleshed out. But most of the issues now are load related. |

No, the game does not and will not have the depth of EVE. They have to appeal to some Trekkers, so it is no hardcore game, but I find it fun. However, I do think they may have hit the "easy to play, hard to master" sweet spot. This should make pvp pretty interesting, even though they really need to balance out the Klingons and add more in-depth pvp options - I believe they will get that done pretty quick after release. As far as the lag and such, they certainly are stress testing. The game didnt have any of these issues in closed beta, and as long as they get things adjusted sooner rather than later, no worries. |

"I fear the Greeks even if they bring gifts" <-- Members from 2004

The OP is a 2004. Is he a dev trying to use reverse psych on us? This non-hype thread is really a hype thread. Whoa. |

NUBADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK!!!! You will learn proper respect and fear of the Shatner. Pray that I am not able to convince Him that you are actually a hot alien chick. You know what would happen next... |

You thought that was funny? I am too old or you are stoned. Maybe both. And of course, it has nothing to do with STO, which also makes me sad. A pox on you! |

Final Fantasy XIV: Most Anticipated Game of 2010

Here. I'll save ya time cause you really should know so you don't go around bashing something with no knowledge of its history! It really makes ya look silly...rofl
Final Fantasy Retrospective Part 01 Then I suggest you watch the other 12 parts!
lol I look silly because I have not read the lore of a strangely titled game I am not interested in playing? Whatever. And really, if you think that was bashing the game, I dont know what to say. It struck me as odd, and I said as much. Look, you are not going to convince me to like the game and I am not trying to convince anyone that the game is bad. It is just not for ME. As I said before, if you like this stuff and "get it", enjoy. K? |

WTF are you talking about? I dont like PvE grind-fests. Not all MMO's are PvE grindfests. If you disagree with that last statement, fine, you have the right to your opinion even if it is wrong. ;) |

Final Fantasy XIV: Most Anticipated Game of 2010
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/08/10 10:44:06 PM
Final Fantasy XIV? How do they even come up with that? If the fantasy was final, there would not even be FF2, let alone FF14! (as I write this, it occurs to me that this has likely been said a million times before...so make it a million and one) Guess I am one of those that just dont get it. Dont like the look, sick of freaking elves and magic, grind-tastic PvE. I will be playing STO in 2010, but for those of you that do "get it", enjoy FFXIV and the kudos from MMORPG. |

There are closed beta players that have been cleared by Cryptic to give out previews, answer questions, and give opinions. Google "STOked" or "Jupiter Broadcasting" and you will get closed beta info that is legitimate and cleared by the devs, as one example. Long shows, and some may find the hosts annoying, but they give a ton of info. There are also direct answers to questions on the offical forums by these players. OP - google up some info, hear it directly, and then we dont have to give the mods an ulcer about what is/isnt NDA breach. I am going to preorder, FWIW. |

For a moment there, I thought the OP was Polarization. I guess this does follow the time honored practice in DFO, where you switch a letter in someone's name, appearing to be someone you are not - though typically for more nefarious purpose than just posting in a forum. Whether this was done intentionally or unintentionally (yeah, right) it is worth a laugh. |

Just another lame move from a company with a long history of lame moves. What surprised me? That I was surprised at all. |

Yeah, they dont have anywhere near 28K pre-orders, just registrations. Honestly, I dont know what AV was thinking...this mega-fail was inevitable with no stress testing. (Oh wait, they had "pro-testers", high tech simulators, and advanced AI to test everything. lol) |

Beta Players: Name the biggest surprises and letdowns
General Discussion « Darkfall 2/22/09 4:51:33 PM
Biggest surprise: Client is rock solid, very stable with good performance. Biggest letdown: Server is down WAY too much, and has not been stress tested. (the server also crashed frequently, even if it was to dump data for debug/diagnostic purposes) |

Hilarious! Thanks for sharing the lulz. |

Of course there are balance issues. The issues are there - but of the "flavor of the month" variety. Of course, some races complain that there starting stats are not balanced too...but that is not what I was talking about. OK? |
