The game went wrong when expansions came out. Shit is too easy now. |

I agree with the OP. Each expansion has really changed the game a lot. Things aren't like they used to be...
Then again I never liked change. |

Yeah go for World of Warcraft. I went from Runescape to WoW and played it for 3 years. Its not exactly what you are looking for, I was the same way, but its still a great game. It can never hurt to try, just head to www.worldofwarcraft.com and make a trial account for free. I hope you find a game to be happy with (I am dieing for one to play these days :P) Edit: Im bored and feel like I wana go more into describing what WoW is like to a runescape player. You can make your character and choose a class (warrior, priest, hunter, rogue etc.) and you can level up from doing quests/killing monsters. I also feel like I should point out there aren't different combat skills you level, just your character's level (or combat level as you would know it). There are stats though that affect your character that you gain as you level up and different gear will add to those stats too. The combat is a lot more fun in wow, you are really a lot more involved. Instead of just watching your guy attack something, you get to actually control you attacks. While you still have auto attack on, you will have a large range of attacks and skills you can use in combat. This makes things much less boring. The quests aren't the same as runescape really... they more send you to a area and have you kill a certain number of mobs or collect something they drop and bring it back for experience. You can think of it sort of like slayer, but less tedious. There are also cool dungeons you can team up with some people to take on and get experience and gear out of those. There are skills like mining, skinning, herbalism, blacksmithing, alchemy, etc. You can choose 2 of them for your professions and level them up easily while you are playing through the game. Its very common for people to have their skills at max level, as there isnt MILLIONS of xp required to get to max. There are also secondary professions that you can have as many as you want. The most common are first aid, then cooking and fishing behind that. And on the note of max levels, its not almost impossible for your character to reach max level too. Pretty much every one does in say... I dont know 2-3 months of play? And once you get max level (currently level 70) there is tons of content to play. One of the main things people do are these big dungeons that range from 10-25man raids. So, there is still lots of fun to be had once you hit the cap. If you were a big fan of pking in runescape, there is plenty of player vs. player (pvp) to be played in WoW. Its a bit different in WoW though. First off, you wont drop your gear. EVER. Some might consider this good, or bad. If you are on a PvP server, you are always flagged to enemy players [the game is split into two factions: horde (your orcs trolls undead n stuff) and alliance (humans elf dwarfs ect)] of the opposite faction. But if your not into that, there are still normal servers where you are safe, but still open to pvp freely as you wish. There are two more forms of pvp though, Battlegrounds and Arenas. Battlegrounds are well, a certain area set off for battled to take place in with different objective in each battleground. And arenas consist of 2v2,3v3 and 5v5 team battles. All pvp kills/victories earn you honor which can be spent on pretty good gear. The only exception though are arenas, you get arena points you can spend on better gear. I also want to point out the death penalties. Death is more common in WoW than runescape. When you die you are sent to the graveyard of the zone you are in as a ghost, and you just simply have to walk back to your corpse. After you die a few times your armor will start to break, but dont worry. Once its broken it can be repaired in town for quite cheap (not as much as barrows gear would get) Wow, I think that's all of it. Sorry for the huge wall of text. Well there are my quite unorganized thoughts of world of warcraft for a former runscape player. I just got sort of bored and started typing. To sum it up: World of Warcraft isn't a runscape skill-based game, but it still it a awesome game I would recommend to any one who hasnt played it.

Got my invite, but they dont work any more. You cant refer a friend, just reinvite old players. If you canceled your account and a friend referred you, you both get free 15 days. At least I think that's how it works. |

Ever notice how the exp % goes to 4 decimal places? Things were slow in the mid 30's, I cant imagine what it would be like geting .0001% xp a kill later on. |

Lineage 2: Gracia Update Allows Faster Leveling
News Discussion « General Discussion 7/16/08 1:40:44 PM
That's really nice, I will probably sub up to L2 again once that goes live. The only problem I can think is that all the old areas will be abandoned and obsolete. Not too much of a price to pay I guess, but I will miss some of my fav leveling zones.
Edit: Person above me, are you serious about it only taking a month to grind to level 75? From that I remember, and commonly hear, that's BS. It would take more like 6 months from what I hear. |

Like in every asian MMO, click n point is the main form of movement. And the WASD controlls are sort of slapped on. I havent played the game in a while, but I think you can get around pretty well by using the W key to move forward and one of the mouse buttons (probably right) to turn.
I would give the click n move a try though. Its not THAT bad it just takes some getting used to. |

I would like a buddy pass to see if I can handle running the game, so I wouldnt waste money buying it then not being able to play it. Thanks. Email to: grafittisk8er2000@yahoo.com or pm here. |

Hmm yes that sounds interesting. I always wondered how controlling three people at once and pvp would work out.
The PK city and colony wars you mentioned sound very interesting. I'll have to look into that more. |
