What is the deal with this games trial?
General Discussion « World War II Online 10/16/09 5:34:46 PM
Drivers are not random programs, they are fundamental for the operation of your computer. If you have not upgraded drivers and I suspect you haven't since you bought it, you are running a machine that is perpetually under powered and out of date. This has nothing to do with WW2OL but with standard maintanance of computers Do a Google search on Drivers video, motherboard, sound etc . We all started not knowing about stuff, but take our advice and begin the process. |

Drivers are free, they are the programs that control your motherboard video and sound cards. They should always be up to date regardless of what you are doing. |

Email Bloo@playnet.com tell him your problem and see if they can work something out to let you try the freebie. You can prepay if you decide to stay. You will be surprised at the Rats. Hope they can find a way to let you play. |

When they didnt requie a CC a lot of people abused them by simpy playing the freebie all the time. You can d/l and use all the equipment offline without signing on. They apply 1 dollar to the card to see if it is genuine, and return it if you cancel within 2 weeks. CRS is very good about not screwing ppl and have acutally taken a loss to return monies to ppl who failed to comply. |

Glad you are having a great intro!. After a while you will see how squads intermingle and you will simply team up with whoever is on your mission. Heh, you dont have to be good to play with people,,just not bad:-). Just jump into a mission and follow the guy in front. Hats off to the guy who is showing you the ropes. WW2OL is full of great people. AAA is funner than dripping snot. |

A couple of thingds to do to get a better fps...under Persona, Settings, Video.. turn off vertical syncing, and runahead. Then under UI...turn off the minimap..it is a fps hog. I always enjoy reading post from people who have just joined:;-) Make sure you have the lastest drivers for your vid and sound and motherboard. Turn down sound voices to the value that can be done on the souncard withoiut using CPU cycles. If you have an onboard sound card, think about gettting a standalone card to take processing off the cpu..another fps drain. Again, welcome aboard! |

Text on the help channel, or on the objective channel...#2..if you are on a mission and simply say you are new and would like to join a squad..I bet you won't wait long...BKB...is always newbie friendly..You are asking on the campaign server and not the training server? |

Jump into the campaign server and join almost any squad. They will train you, let you run with them and will understand if you decide to go elsewhere. This is the most newbie friendly game online and the only concern about learning is wasting aircraft. Sounds like you are spending more time in training than playing, so....go get killed and learn the easy way:-). Welcome aboard. |

and I bet you play WoW where you take 3 steps and see a mountain range and the entire server population is 2k players max..lol..btw..I dont work for crs. I dont remember them asking you back. Lets see..they builit a china release, upgraded their underlying out of date engine, began another release..and the last one was about what...7 months ago....They usually average 3 major upgrades per year. I just disagree with your assesement. So, don't pay, don't play but I hope that video is not the only one you looked at.
Don't forget ragdoll for the infantry and new ground graphics..updated and shadowed 1 million tree, deeper grass, etc...shoulda watched the other videos, and this is just from Unity 1.5...next one is Unity 2.0...last one was Unity 1.0 and it almost duouble FPS and they have inreased them more. They plan to localize weather,,,where a storm will travel across the battlefield, where rain will effect the friction coefficent of friction for the ground vehicles including infantry. Since Unity is almost completed they can now do stuff that their old 1999 engine would not let them do. |

If you look closely at the notes you will see that they are going to be able to increase the fps, more so than they did in 1.29 or 1.28.not sure which that jumped my fps from 45 to 90 plus in city fighting. That fps complaint is more out of date than you know. |

When is the new unity engine suppose to be released?
General Discussion « World War II Online 7/11/09 3:25:05 PM
Niche game is exactly its problem. More players 24/7 would ensure it lasting even longer than those that were going to bury it. |

Haven't played AoC in years so I had nothing to compare to except wow. I am hoping with the money coming from China, since they licenses it there, they can add some bodies to increase the upgrades. You have to admit, they always have an update in the process. I have always thought I was playing for free and paying for the upgrades. Lot of room for improvement, and in comparision to what it was in 2001 to what it is now it is just beyond measure. What game can you contact the owner, talk to the guy who controls accouts, get your money returned to you even if it is your own fault. I just think I have a personal relationship with Killer etc since I was a trainer when he, hitech(who runs aces high) and gunjam ran warbirds. They are a small company, they are gamers and they want the same as any player who pays wants. Niche game, may never have a milliion players, but they will always have me. I even pay the 15 per month instead of the discount simply to give a few extrac dollars a year. I pay 15 one time each year to help them advertise in niche magazines. I think one of the WWII mags.
It can be better, it is always being improved, it has been on my HD for 8 years and that alone says a tankload of gaming. |
