previsouly in beta for about a month before shutdown

the setting was great

the graphics were really well done for the time

really interested in the minion system - though i had only aquired one before no more log in

beta system was also very good as there was a questionaire at the completion of quests and at other times iirc

as it was i thought the game was an excellent first MMO

dismayed early on when the crafting system was not going to make release and it appeared the "god system" was being cut back to just one god initially so not a lot of choice there - lots of chatter from devs that they were releasing a "core" game and then you would pay for further development - kinda like MO (though no where near as incomplete as MO on release)

no. i play rts all the time but i cant see myself justifying buying it. I think Civ games are much better and have a token of diplomacy in it as well....where as SC2 doesnt really have that, and i enjoy the politics and diplomacy of games.

You would enjoy a little game I used to play 24/7 on Sega called Romance of the three kingdoms 3.

It's turn-based and very intricate if you can get passed the old graphics.  One of the best strategy games even to this date.

You can download it at freeroms.com

 holy crap!

I loved that game - I would hate to admit how much time i spent and the number of pages of notes i took

but won't be buying SC2 - never enjoyed the first one

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears the only way a player can advance to lvl 90 is by buying a yearly sub at the cost of $200(?)!!

If you read the chart carefully you'll see that's not quite the case.

You can 'puchase' to unlock to level 90 if you have the monthly sub. It appears that if you drop $200 for the year, the unlock cost is included, and it seems as well that the full game and expansions are unlocked as well.

Either way I have mixed feelings about it. I like the idea that they're keeping the F2P and P2P separated, which is a smart move. Problem is, there's still large segments of station cash RMT riddled throughout the P2P portion of the game already. Furthermore, considering it's SoE, and how for the longest time they promised to keep their RMT specifically to RMT servers, and how that didn't exactly last... I'm hesitant that they'll keep F2P players out of the P2P servers for long.

i'm absolutely sure you'll be able to buy your way to a P2P server - even a P2P PvP (do they still have one of those?)

Nah forget that. Splitting the campaigns into 3 different games all for 60 bucks a pop? For a game thats extremely similar to the one they released a decade ago? Ill pass.

Same. I will play it eventually, when it goes platinium collection, all three in one box for $20.
Tired beta, and wasnt really excited.

Now Diablo3 - that would be different story... But if they force us to buy different boxes to play different classes with, then i'm not going for it.

 same here

it is a wait and see on the favorite part but the least favorite is the collision detection or lack there of

almost completely kills the game for me - will be looking at future vids but right now it is a "no buy"

hmm

nothing about a graphics upgrade

pity

Can't you get a higher resolution with such a big tv?

You must be very popular with the women. *nudge nudge*

 heheh

it's a DLP so not really necessary - you don't see the individual pixels

plus adding resolution would make the font on most games teeny-tiny 'cause the developers rarely provide a way to let you adjust font sizes where it counts

65" 1920x1080

interesting video

it is apparent that the devs have never riden a horse - seen a horse live - or even watched one move on TV

hopefully all the animations are not this poor?

was gonna check it out until i read the part about remapping - left handed here too

the mod chose "troll" to get rid of a post he didn't like

completely random - if it wasn't troll it would have been "duplicate" or any thing else they come up with - and ooh baby, don't question their decision in a PM

Back in the early days of the MO forum, I and many others would make some unpopular but perfectly valid and non-trollish posts, only to have absolute morons deduct rep points (for those that don't know, it's a forum feature that allows people to give and recieve positive or negative reputation points. In reality, it's used for complete dumbasses to give eachother virtual fistbumps while knocking out dissenting voices).

So now, rather than posting the example of literary genius we know as "your a idiot" in response to something that flies over the dumbtwat's head, they'll get to rate you down.

Believe it or not, though, I see a lot more reasonable people on the WoW forums than on the site of a niche, hardcore game like MO, so maybe this won't be a problem. Government of the people, by the people is great when you include the wider demographics of a nation, but sucks horribly when the majority of those who can affect your rep or ratings fall under the pubescent douchebag category.

i wore my negative rep with pride :)

my infraction too!

I agree, the combat animations are simply horrid, there is no flow to combat, terrible feeback on attacks, sound sync issues,  It will never be addressed.  It feels like a slow motion slap fight with an occasional epileptic seizure thrown in.

heheh - very funny and oh so true

Sambuca

me play long time with this in the house

other than that, some mint flavored black tea will do

How disheartening!

Ho hum. There must be a way to sidestep that issue... There's always a solution.... Hmm....

 Saga of Ryzom

wandering mobs

different mobs depending on season

you can deplete mobs

the more aggressive mobs can be static but have a large path to follow

named mobs have a huge path that has to be studied to figure out - and they do seem to turn up unexpectedly even though you think you have the timing down

interesting ain't it :)

forgot to add - you can watch those "aggressive mobs" attack other mobs - time it right and you can slip by them while they are "busy" killing those others

This bug was around for days, not hours..

http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/49388-exploit-incident-july-10th.html

i wonder if he was actually trying for a joke here

the problem has been around for a minimum of a week when it was reported and probably since launch - sad that the community manager is taking the route of lying to the players

if they wipe i give them a thumbs up - anything short of that is a continuation of the aforementioned "joke"

have counted 5 locked threads on this subject so far - at least they are not hiding the issue, you just can't talk about it

loot timers

just shows that if you play red and bitch enough you can be handed whatever you wish on a silver platter

would be nice to see you sued and having to repay ^^ as you are one dislikeable fellow ...

learn to stand for your decisions mate, and grow up.

Not going to accept a game that is broken and incomplete.

Yet you seem to chase them, Mortal, Xyson, what's next? Do you just set sights on whatever looks like it will release the worst?

i wish a few more thousand people would do this

might change a few things

meh

nevermind

i'll just go to the source - quite enjoy LFG
