even though i played for a bit previous to this awakening i'll be going to the mainland for the first time this weekend!

I plan on blocking off an entire day for this - i'm so ready

playing the starter island all over again - still haven't made it to the mainland but having a blast once more

so cool that it is back

i like the system in Ryzom

first of all the crafted items are the ones players want and you know who crafted them - the good materials aren't easy to get and there is a feeling of accomplishment for the crafter

does it matter if it is released this friday or next week or next month or never?

the same fanbois and most likely the same naysayers will be here continuing the drama

don't care much myself anymore since they have started up Ryzom again - just bored at work and thought i would check out the continuing saga - but you know, this has gone on so long that even the drama (if you can call it that anymore) has grown stale and boring

personally i do hope thet video comes out as that should pump some new life into the Darkfall forum here - depending on the content we should get some interesting "discussions".

i love that - sounds just like Tasos over at Darkfall - maybe EE is a fan (of Tasos - not necessarily darkfall)

the main reason is because i can't try it before i buy it

well, it is just Tasos yammering on as usual but this sounds promising - at least as far as the video anyway

more waiting but just possibly some light at the end of  a very long tunnel

yes, i know what open beta is suppose to be for even though we all know it really isn't

i am interested in this game - not enough to pay for the privilege of trying before buying

obviously the developers of this game are only interested in subscribers that time after time throw their (or mommies) money at games they have never been able to play/experience for themselves - i suppose i would too if i were them but....

in order to rake in all that casual player cash i would want to draw them in too but i would have to have a great deal of confidence in my game

i too have a decent job but i also have a house (or a mortgage depending on how you look at it) - electric, gas, water bills, taxes blah blah blah

we do know that most of those that got a key certainly don't have daytime jobs

pretty strange sign up system they have chosen - don't think that bodes well for the game itself

EVE has PvP "anywhere" and looting of player wrecks (although most of the loot is destroyed) and people still play it. You have to stop thinking of gear in WoW terms. It won't take you "months" to build up your character, it'll take hours, maybe days at most, and even dying and losing all your stuff is no big deal since you'll be able to build it back up within a couple hours or less.

I think the biggest hurdle this game will have to overcome is all the misconceptions like the above, as well as their own reputation. They've jerked us around for so long, even if it releases very few people will actually bother playing it.

you haven't actually played EVE have you?
 

although you can "kill" anywhere there are severe penalties (the cops kill you - period) involved in Empire space which is the carebear area - which incidentally has 80+ percent of the population (does that tell you anything?)

i'll stick around for the drama

but - with the overzealous mod editing that has been going on lately the darkfall forums are bound to get quite dull i'm afraid

looks like MMORPG has got some new hired or volunteer MODS

haven't seen so much editing as i have in the last few days

looks like it is time to move on to a more free site

and besides - my entire post was removed - you think that would have warranted a warning or something
