Hmz, it is hard to break it down to just one moment because I had such a great time in this game. PVP, when our player city on dantooine was under heavy attack by the opposite faction and we struggled the whole night trying to fight them off when suddenly an imperial dropship deployed like 20 hardcore troopers right on top of the city - it was a slaughter and we never figured out if it happend randomly or a GM event or whatever.. Grinding skills with my jedi beeing on the edge looking for bounty hunters, I remember that sneaky wookie circling around my position for like 15mins and when he finally engaged I totally onehitted him. Or just dueling fellow jedis at remote places. Crafting, surveying for the best resources and deploying sh*tloads of harvesters to make some cash and experience with the crafting system to make the best food in the galaxy with my master chef! Selling your stuff in your own shop, in your own house, in your own city! Hanging out in the cantinas getting buffs from the entertainers, standing in a long line at the starports to buy those mandatory master doc buffs .. it was all fun to me!

WIS (Walking In Stations) is coming and it looks great www.youtube.com/watch. I am having a really hard time waiting for all the good stuff coming to EVE this year. Not sure if they will introduce aliens of the kind you are looking for but they will introduce worm holes and unexplored new space and stuff there .. check out the fanfest 2008 videos. |

WAR needs time to develop - But will EA be that patient?

They already improved the combat responsive and the new patch promises a major update on this subject. I am pretty sure the entire ORVR campaign will get enhanced too but that will take some time. Nobody can honestly think the current situtation is Mythic's vision for the game after DAOC. Right now I see no reasons to login but I'm confident it will be a solid game after some more patchwork is done because WAR actually offers alot to enjoy and cool features like the classes, the artwork, the tome of knowledge, the trophies, leveling up in a PVP environment, the cities .. it just needs time and money, Mythic go both. |

Post 1 good thing and 1 bad thing

Good: "Tome of Knowledge" is very well implented, a nice addition packed with lore and progression infos. Bad: Pairing imbalances, for example on Empire vs. Chaos the humans have hardly any tanks in RVR/scenarios or PQs. Probably will get better after release when guilds&groups are forming and playing together. |

And if you lack the ability to understand that others think different from you perhaps you should not reply at all.
I dont agree with a lot of the stuff he thinks or what he has agreed, but guess what, I dont whine about it and start trashtalking him for that. We are all different, learn that and you will prolly get better social skills.
Tada
ps. yes, a bit grumpy today, tierd of fanbois who think their way is the only way and so on. Sorry all.
So what you say is, if I visit the other forums and write reviews claiming that, for example, LOTRO lacks quests or that AOC has awesome end-game-content, people should not post and proof the opposite? Now that would be a really great discussion forum. |

If you want me to provide numbers to make your contribution to this thread look even more pathetic I will do it for you. On his way to lv40 a "Black Ork" recieves 22 skills, 15 tactics and 8 morale abilities alone at the career trainer. Through mastery training another 3 skills, 3 tactics and one morale ability. Additionally there is the renown trainer with another truckload of tactics and stats customization. Certain buffs will allow special usable abilities too. You are able to equip 4 morale abilites, 5 different tactics (which are passive btw) and your regular arsenal at max level and the only reason to complain about the lack of skills or customization I can think of is that you played too much EVE. Now I have not tried the engineer myself but I'd say some classes play more "complex" than others, try another long range DD maybe you will like those better. For example the "Squig Herder" is able todo crazy things with the Squig.

Yes at level 3 the classes lack skills, thanks for the review. Honestly, what the hell? If I would have counted basic abilities, morales and tactics plus the renown and specialization skills you can obtain back on my rank 31 template .. well fuck that, you guys are crazy uninformed.

Yes, yes and yes. I suggest you to not believe a single word (that includes me) people are posting here, wait for the official release and read reviews written by professionals. Of course some will be worthless but overall it will be a better standard of information. PS : I play on the euro servers like many others, some servers are full already. |

Originally posted by gorecki Sorry it was such a worthless read that you chose to read and reply to it I have no positive or negative feelings at all about you liking the game. It's great that it works for you, so I'm not sure why it irks you so much to find somebody that has a differing opinion... Go! Be happy and play!
Why should I not reply? I do it for the same reason you wrote this review. If you have no negative or positive feelings about the key features of the game maybe its too much for you to comprehent and you should stick with playing AV for another 4 years. I am playing, thx for the suggestion. |

We need more reviews by people who played the game up to lv8, bash the WOW similarities and the combat system. Thx man thats a worthless read. How did you like the renown system, city levels, zone control system, tactics, morale abilities, guild features and stuff? Oh you dont know jack about this game .. |

Mark Jacobs blog on the GOA issues....

First, he did not insult the community. He pointed out some people crossed a line and commented in a manner he did not expect. Second, you missed only one day of open beta so far. There will be a server wipe before the headstart so what did you actually lost? Shit happens, you will get over it. Third, if you really wanted to play so badly you should have tried harder. I was able to register a new account and my key so could you. Unfortunately it took like 10 hours and hundreds of timeouts but in the end it worked. Oh and fourth, I think you crybabies fail at life and played too much WoW instead of going to school and stuff. That is an insult. |

/bump There must be some serious EU order guilds! Show yourself! |

Originally posted by Moroth RVR will be fun because of numerous features, for example keep sieging, guild standards/standard bearers, renown ranks/equipment/tactics/moral abilities, city levels/sieging.. Plus there will be PVE (Questing,Raiding,Dungeons,PQs) too and it will be embedded in some way or another into the RVR. Personally I like the setting, gfx and gameplay too. What more could I ask for? |

Which is why I only play one MMORPG. It doesn't really matter which one, they are all alike. I play it until I get bored, cancel my account for a few months, then play again for a few months. I don't buy/play any other MMORPGs, don't need to. The formula is always rinse and repeat. Doesn't matter if it POTBS, AOC, or WAR. They are all the same, just with different graphics. It's kinda like racing games, they are all the same, car go fast, car slow, car turn, car go fast again. Or the real time strategy game, 5X's. Or FPS'er. Just doesn't matter. You played one, you played them all.
I call that bullshit man, mmos differ greatly and its about emotions not the combat system. Some get a rush by progressing in raid content, others enjoy roleplaying and some others want to "overpown" other players but nobody talks about the combat system at the end of the day.

Originally posted by fuzzylojik LOL. Look at that first line. That's freaking hilarious. And he calls others blind. He's saying WoW will be around for the possibly the next 30-40 years and beyond.
You're not flattering yourself by namecalling others.
Maybe he is like 80. Since everybody shares their visions of the future without any credibility let me play Nostradamus too! The game will be huge. It will attract every PVP fan on the planet by providing a rocksolid framework combined with tons of content like achievements, renown ranks, city ranks, guild ranks, guild banners etc. To quote some devs, it'll be the world cup of violance - massively awesome.
