Things will change with open beta, and when not, then we will need to hold out breath for sure. Not now. I do understand your concern, but I am not worrying. It is a good game that will appeal to a large group of players. |

The road to launch for Warhammer is still very long, much longer than that of Spellborn. From your perspective I would worry more about AoC. Better still is not to worry at all. TCoS has a following. Perhaps not as big as some other games, but more than enough to make TCoS a commercial success. Whether TCoS will be a bigger hit than AoC or WAR now looks unlikely, but that may change when the game is out, no matter when the game comes out. That should not even concern you and me. And, being a big hit has its draw backs. Maybe the release of AoC and WAR are the best things that can happen to TCoS. Comparable to the release of EQ2 at the time WoW was released. |

So I will be glad when TCoS comes out, because that game is very close to what I am looking for. I do not believe TCoS will loose its audience just because some other game will be released. TCoS is just too good for that. Only a disastrous open beta and launch might drive people away, but it looks like they are working hard to prevent that from happening at the moment. I do not believe everyone will like TCoS because of its look and feel, but for those who do like it it will be a pleasant surprise. A real fun game to play with a lot of depth. Lets put it this way: I might try other games, but I will try TCoS. |

No one knows. It is an mmorpg. Officially they are aiming at an open beta and release in Q4 2007. More information is coming out at the moment, btw. Check the dev section on their forums. |

WoW continues to grow. That is quite an achievement. What I would like to know is the total amount of accounts created since launch. That number would be indicative for the potential market for mmorpg's that Blizzard might have created with WoW. |

Well, if the appearance of the Daevi is going to be the subject of discussion, you will notice that the textures on those feet of the original models were not quite finished. They looked pale, big and seem to lack detail. My guess is that it was still work in progress, but they wanted to show them as soon as possible. No doubt they will improve on the model and texture. You will also notice that they only showed two daevi models, a man and a woman (atlethic builds?), while for humans there are a thin, normal, atlethic and fat model available, which makes me believe that they are indeed still working on the daevi models. Oh, and I have not seen any daevi children yet, while there are human children. Those who dislike the models will probably not play them, but I also want to see how they move before making a decision, assuming that they will improve on the details. Also different armour sets will be available for humans and daevi, that may influence the way they look too. Wait and see. |

Originally posted by Lord.Bachus Perhaps, but release is now planned somewhere in Q4 this year, but who knows, it might be post-poned again. Over exposure of the game right now might hurt the game more than help it.
Originally posted by Lord.BachusYou are entiled to believe TCoS is sub par, but a lower polygon count for characters pays back in performance and the range of computer systems that can run this game satisfactory. And good performance will be necessary to support the fighting system used in this game. Now, in case you were not referring to the polygon count, but to the art work in general, then we are talking about taste. In that case I do not believe you have the developers of Spellborn on your side. An overhaul will not happen. And, actually, when comparing Spellborn with other games that are close to release now, it is not necessary. Spellborn is reasonably good looking. Certainly not impairing game-play in any way. |

Originally posted by Fion I just did, but that is beside the point. The point is that character movement needs (an will get) a lot of polishing. From what I have seen they will need all the time available to get that done in time. |

On the Chronicles of Spellborn forum some kiddo came along claiming that AoC was superior lookiing to TCoS. Then someone else posted a link to one of the videos. O boy. The action looks clunky in an old fashioned way. Not at all what one would expect of a modern game, but then again this is only beta. But TCoS in beta is already much better looking. Makes you wonder whether this game is going to be released a bit too soon and needs more polishing. |

Excuse me? You are misinformed. You can be an archer in this game. About casters. They do share the same spells, but specializing in body/mind/soul will probably force the use of spells dependend on those attributes, I guess. How it works is explained partially elsewhere, but not on mmorpg.com. That article was a bit lacking in detail. |

Originally posted by AvisonIsn't WAR supposed to be an all out PvP game? If so, this is real bad advice. If it needs to be a game that is already out I would advice EQ2, but check the system requirements. EQ2 is still a bit demanding. If you can wait the Chronicles of Spellborn is probably what you are looking for. Of the list of choices you narrowed it down to yourself LotRo is probably the best choice. |

So the OP wants to play EQ2, but he cannot since he hates SOE so much. My advice would be to start studying Buddhism. |
