Don't confuse your objective with their objective. It is all dependent on how you look at it. Generally healing classes are defined by a combination of two abilities: healing and debuffing. All classes in TCoS will have equal or comparable healing capabilities. However, the Oracle Disciple will excel in debuffing. That's why. Your depressing thoughts are probably unjustified when you look at the other classes. No class seems to be an absolute must to have in a group, but every class will influence the way a group functions, calling for a lot of variety. It is not the objective of the devs to limit player, but you cannot prevent players to choose their own specialisation (or two). I think the devs (in design) did a good job in giving players freedom of choice. |

It is generally agreed upon that the Oracle Disciple will be the healing class of TCoS. |

They took it out of the game. At release there will be no shard conquest. Maybe later. When they have solved all the problems they hinted at. |

PvP is an integral part of the game, but so is PvE which is what the game main focus is on. So I would not call it a PvP game, it is not that simple. Calling it a pvp game gives the wrong impression, methinks. But we will have to see to be sure. |

When asked we got a vague answer in which it was hinted that the Within Temptation music might be used for something else than just promotion, but no indication for what. So who knows. Personally I do not feel that the Within Temptation music fits in the TCoS world, but that might have to do with the fact I do not like the music Within Temptation wrote for TCoS. I do like what Jesper Kyd did for TCoS. I cannot imagine music that include vocals in game anyway, except in public estabishments and around music podia in the game. Anyway, most mmorpg allow you to turn down the in game music selectively so that you can listen to you own favorite music. I guess TCoS will be no different in this respect. |

Due to the delays TCoS is coming out together with other big releases. This will definately minimize its chance of becoming a hit at release. However, when the game delivers what it promises it will attract a crowd within a few months. That is almost certain. |

You can stop applauding right there, because the music of Within Temptation is not in the game. It is only used for promotion. The ingame music is from Jesper Kyd. |

Literally it means somewhere in the first 3 months of the coming year. It is a rough estimate. Which means they do not yet have a release date, but are aiming to release before April the 1st. However, not having a release date might mean it will be released even later. |

Not that TCoS is loosing credibility. It is just that they are a small and young company and always have had problems handling things properly. They have always had problems to deliver in time and alway informed people late. It is just the way things are. I suspect they just dont have to money to hire the people to handle these things properly. I guess that will change when the Chronicles of Spellborn become a hit. |

The comparison with EQ2 is being made and I too see elements of EQ2 being copied in Vanguard. However, I also see alot of elements from WoW being used, especially landscapes and here and there I think I see a touch of Oblivion in the screenshots. Maybe it cannot be helped that fantasy games start looking like each other, but building a huge world is alot of work and it must be difficult to be original all the time. Maybe the reference to other games is intentional in Vanguard. Seeing the resemblances I do think it is intentional in some cases. In other cases it must be due to the choice of making a EQ3 or alternatively a game setting known to a large player base. |

Although I had to point out the obstacle we are facing here, I have to admit it is not a bad idea. But personally I would want to communicate with the developers in a beta forum, but then I would view myself as a beta-tester not as a 'free-trial during beta' hitchhiker. I would be interested in the views of the people on this board, but that can wait till open beta. More so, because during open beta and on an open forum everybody will be informed about your educated opinions. I think that will be the view of mmorpg.com too. So it is unlikely that they will take the initative to start such a closed forum. |

Yes, but have you read my response. It can only happen for open beta, not for the closed beta, and open beta will be relatively short or at least it is planned shortly before the planned release. |

Well, they could, but no one would be allowed to say anything about the game due to the NDA. Making the forum exclusive to those who are in beta does not change that, unless TCoS widens its NDA by allowing you to talk an a closed MMORPG.COM forum. But why would they? They have their own beta forums and they do need the input. Why would they scatter their source for input? |

Good to have that straightened out. Although it would not have been that bad to have PvP somewhat later. However, that is just my personal preference to see PvP as part of the end-game and not to PvP right from the start. |

It was, but this same month they promised they would not postpone release. That was a lie. So what to think about everything else they say? Mmorpg are all the same in this respect. |

No it is not a rumour that guilds can have members of different High Houses. Originally it was planned that guilds belonged to a High House, but they dropped that idea about a month ago as they also dropped House driven shard conquest and replaced it with guild driven shard conquest. Although at release there will be no shard to conquer yet and it might all change yet. As to it not making much sense: that is true, but we will see how it works out. |

That is kind of sad for you. Luckily for me a game like TCoS seems ideal and to some others in this thread. May the future bring you a game you will appreciate. |
