/agree That is especially true with the space theme. |

Smart developers ftw :) I like that Darkfall is made by people who know what they are doing :) |

I say let's have good graphics with cool shaders before considering gore. I don't want to see blood spilling in the form of small red triangles. |

How big of a future do you think there is for WoW?
LFGame « General Discussion 3/10/08 3:38:42 AM
As long as you stick with PvP in WoW, I think it'll not be that much of a wasted effort. You only have like 2 months to wait for AoC. You should be able to have fun with WoW's arena, BGs and Open PvP with your friends. After trying AoC, if you don't like it, then you can still try a more PvP-oriented game to suit your preference. I suggest: You'll just have to convince your friends to play your next game, and not the opposite ^^ |

W.E.L.L. online - an amazing Sci-fi MMORPG (with not too much advertisement alas)

Good to see there are companies spending time on development and innovation instead of advertising and cloning. Looks like it can be a fantastic game. |

I totally agree with the OP. The term "end game" has so many bad aspects of MMOs related to it...

I'm not sure about Beta testers influencing the devs that much. I'm more worried about how much the company owners, way before the beta, thought about how they would manage to steal some subscriptions from Blizzard by trying to appeal to WoW players. To the OP, I don't think instanced PvP can be considered a WoW (or any other game) cloned feature though. Most people agree on instancing being silly and that includes many WoW subscribers too I guess. That's just the devs being lazy. Capture the flag is really lame, though. |

Sorry, the first 4 words of your post don't even make sense.
The PvE<->PvP orientation question is kind of an old theme now, even on these forums. ^^ So, instead of starting yet another thread about how PvE players outnumber PvP players and why this is the reason PvP players should be ignored, you should try to demonstrate how sandbox games will not be able to appeal to both PvP and PvE players. Good luck with that :) |

Rockets basically are small missiles with high explosion velocity, which can be launched very frequently (every 4sec) but have a very small range (they fly for 2sec at 2500m/s)
A typical Rocket: A typical Light Missile: The main difference here is the frequency of launches and range. But all those differences kind of get bigger as you compare with other types of missiles (heavy, cruise, ...). You'll need to check items stats for more detail. To understand the impact of every attribute, you might want to check out this missile guide on the official web site : Yup, you just need to learn the required skills. Check the bonuses of those ships though. Many ships give bonuses to a certain type of turrets or for missiles (kestrel, as mentioned above) for example. |

load what? When you get gate camped, it's : I don't understand what you're talking about oO |

Technically, I'm a hardcore PvP player. But I would certainly enjoy a game focused on exploration to relax between PvP sessions, if it was done right. imho, to be successful, such a game would need: |

I'm actually glad this game takes time to come out. It's far more preferable than all the rushed lets-clone-something-that-works MMOs we get these days and will get in the near future. |

nono, 10€ is 33% less than 15€ because 15*(1-0.33) = 10 € but 15€ is 50% more than 10€, because 10x1.5 => 15
So I was right |

You can subscribe on the web site : 15$ or 15€ for 1 month. It's cheaper for 3 months and even more for 6 months, like in any other MMO. There are also Eve TIme Codes (or GTCs for Game Time Cards) of 30, 50, 90 days, which you can purchase on some websites (with Paypal) or in stores (not sure about which stores actually).
The interesting thing is that GTCs can be less expensive than the standard subscription. Example: I'm European, a 30 days GTC costs 15$, so when I buy it online it's only ~10€, the equivalent of 15$. |

Originally posted by TGRa The supercomputer is on its way. Besides, now the big alliances use the lag to their own advantage. Ultimately, those big alliances fight other big alliances who use it too. imho, even the small "peon" (= pays big ally for space in 0.0) corporations cannot complain about it because they indirectly benefit from it. The only corporations who should complain are the freelance ones. But these would lose wars with or without lag anyways, so... |

What is on paper, or in videos for that matter, isn't worth much before official release. Let's wait release before stating how the game really is. |

If I can give two pieces of advice: 2. If you happen not be able to pay for an account at the end of your trial, set a long skill to train. It will be like getting a "present" when you login again when you have the money to activate the account ^^. |

rofl. There are more PvE players than PvP players in the MMO player population. The population in Eve reflects that too. That doesn't make Eve a PvE game. In Guild Wars, although the game was very PvP-oriented, there was a lot of PvE players too.
Eve's subscriptions have increased by 50% in the last year. So, no, CCP does not have to do anything besides what they are doing right now, i.e. rock. |
