Yeah I like when a new server comes online, mainly because it relieves pressure of Sikyon (my server) which has always been overpopulated. I might make a character there.
And yay for cannoneer, that's my main |

I don't really like 2 shamans. Especially if one of them is going to be used for hex. Hex is rather weak imho, when you could get meteor from witch. Early on this strategy could work I suppose. If you do this, I would take the advice posted above and make your main maximum heal, and the other shaman a hybrid. |

yeah, that's a funny glitch. the texture file for the armor forgets to load up, dun dun dun PINK UNDIES! |

early on crafting is just a money sink imho, but later in the game it will help alot, since armor in late game is very expensive. Also Medicine is a must later on. |

I like the championship, but i'm level 96
It is a way to show who's the best on the entire server, and you get a horse to boot. |

Yeah Brutal Will from the Shaman. It's a good skill to use on Viking, but it has it's draw backs. It drains health every turn and you cannot choose the target it will attack. I find it pretty useful on a viking in the middle of a boss fight, usually when all that's left is the back row of monsters. I rarely use it though, since I don't fight Bosses that much anymore. |

I have yet to run into a mercenary spell or potion or anything that increases AP, but I have noticed there are several monsters that have AP increasing moves (perhaps something for class A mercs :)). One alternative to this is to use your shaman's Will spell on 'low' AP mercenaries, like viking. It will cause the mercenary to attack every turn, no matter what thier AP is |

Class C and B merc.. recruitable at what level?

I'm not entirely sure what the level limits are, except monk is level 18. But, if you go the Game Info > Mercenary it will tell you who to speak to in order to get the quest for the mercenary orbs. I think if you have the quest available to you you can get the orb and use it, I think Monk and Viking are the only ones with actual level limits. I could be wrong about this, I never really paid any attention to the orbs when i got them hehe |

As of this post, AoC is more fun. I had problems when AoC first came out, but it seems that everything has worked itself out. The quests in Warhammer seem to repetative. The quests in AoC are very diverse, especially the first 30 levels. Warhammer has good graphics, but AoC has the best graphics of any MMO. Another thing that makes AoC better is the gameplay. There is no point and click attack, it's more interactive, with using a combo system to pull off some good moves. Probably the best thing about AoC is the Fatality system. If you have never seen it, look it up on youtube or something, it's insanely awesome. PVP is very well done in AoC too. |

I don't watch golf, I don't play golf. Pretty much my only experience with golf is Hotshots, but I have to say that this game is actually kind of neat. The only downside I see is that if you play in a tournament or for NGs (game currency) you almost always have to have real cash items on hand to compete. Other than that, it is fun to go in a 4 player round of friendly golf. I might have to think about taking up golf irl lol |

Just a heads up, SE always shuts down the registration server usually 2 days before the end of the month and 2 days after the start of a month, in order to calculate billing and such. It has always been this way. One of the few things I didn't like about this game was how billing was done. It isn't done like in other mmorpgs where you start your service on like the 15th of a month, next time you're billed is the 15th of next month, instead bills are always calculated and charged at the end of each month. |

This is probably my 2nd favorite rpg of all time. Number one in my books when it comes to PvE. There is a TON of things you are able to do, but things do tend to take longer than other mmorpgs. This makes things much more rewarding when you do finally accomplish it. One of the best things you can do to get a jumpstart is to find 1 or 2 friendly linkshells (guilds sorta) to join and party with. One of the best things about this game is that most of the time while leveling you will be in a party with people you have partied with before. It's kinda like 2 old friends coming together for coffee hehe. Just so you know, you will most likely not be soloing in this game. There are a few classes that can solo well, but for the most part this game is heavily dependant on partying. That may sound like a disadvantage if you compare it to other mmorpgs where you can sit for hours without finding a party, but this is due to other mmorpgs not requiring you to party. Thus everyone is always looking for a party, and getting a party together just takes usually 30 minutes tops. Just some things to know: -Very Party oriented game (more fun imo) -If you don't want to party, play Beastmaster, Dancer, Puppetmaster (there are a couple others, but these are the main 3 imo) -This game takes a long time to "beat" mainly due to the huge amount of content and things to do, There is ALWAYS something you can do if you get bored of something else. -In the Begining, Gil will be hard to gather to buy things off the auction house. Around level 30 it becomes alot easier. -One character can be EVERY job (one of the things i loved most), you get tired of a job, switch jobs and do something else :) -I would estimate to do everything in this game would at least take 2 years for a hardcore gamer (including leveling all jobs, plankration, etc etc) -I played for over 5 years, usually 8+ hours a day (yeah I'm a gaming addict) and finally got kinda bored with it. Still miss it sometimes!
There we go, i hope this helps newcomers decide. |

I played on bahamut, it always had 2500+ people on always. I quit playing about 5 months ago, but still kinda miss it. Only thing about Bahamut, it's a rather expensive server, if you buy things on the auction house you will most likely pay upto 50% more gil than on some other servers. Gil is pretty easy to come by anyways. |

Forums do have a part in the success or failure of a game, but it isn't the only factor. Look at WoW, when it first came out people complained for about the first 6 months about stuff, but it's still thriving. The biggest factor in the success or failure of a game is the company behind the game. Funcom won't address thier problems with the game, thus people have to address it for them. Blizzard was very upfront about problems that WoW had, thus people didn't have anything to address (other than class balance, Warriors rule everyone else drools!) |

It isn't only the credit cards they're scamming, the time cards you can buy in stores are messed up as well. I purchased the game and a 2 month time card at my local Best Buy the day of launch, and still haven't played more than the month that came with the game. The time card is listed at Funcom as used, but I never recieved my 2 month game time. Now I've emailed them about 20 times about the problem, emailed them scanned copies of my Best Buy reciepts everything you could think of short of going to Funcom and bashing some skulls, and still nothing. To make matters worse I have 3 friends on MSN that I've known since we played EQ together. They also have the same problem with thier 2 month game cards being listed as already used. Evidently Funcom is reusing the game cards or something funky is going on. I guess Funcom will be added to peoples banlist like SOE is. At least with SOE it wasn't about scamming money. |

Let me welcome you to the game then. It's always nice to see new players. I too used to play EQ ALOT (yay for 50 hour weekend binging P.S. If you come on the Caerleon cluster in Hibernia I may have to decapitate you...nothing personal, just realm business

I don't think I'll ever close my account on DAoC. I've had it since Day 1, and I've played other games since, but always played DAoC when I got bored of the others. That is until Mythic unfortunately closes down the servers, hopefully that isn't for like another 60 years and I'm dead and long gone

I love PvP. PvE is too repetative in ANY game for me to like it. As for the "Kiddies" all I can say is...All's fair in love and WAR. Or at least that's the way I'd love to see it. Some corpse camps you? Get a buddy and do it 20 fold back to him. I don't get upset when I die, it's part of the game, moreso than when you're alive imo. If you die, brush of the dirt from your dirtnapping and go back and get some revenge

As diehard troll fan, I will have to go with Destruction on this one. In all reality however, when it comes to numbers the "Good" side always seems to get more people. This doesn't mean that the "Evil" side is at a handicap. It's been my expirience, that "Good" generally gets a good mix of all expirience types of players, whereas "Evil" tends to be more of an elitists group. DAoC, WoW, and EQ all were this way, and WAR hopefully won't be any different. "Good may get the numbers, but Evil always wins" as my DAoC guild says. Which is kind of backwards to most fantasy books or movies. Good always seems to be outnumbered and what not, but the Good side has thier uber "heros". I wish a fantasy movie would come out with the evil side winning |
