[Interview] Neverwinter: Cryptic's Word on Catursday

I knew about the exploit and even how to do it...the thing is, I have this little thing called honor. I don't want to debase myself by cheating in games...I know it's hard to believe but a lot of players just rush to get ahead by any means possible and miss the entire point of MMOs. MMOs and life are similar in many ways. If you rush and cheat your way to a lot of money, it'll eventually catch up to you. They'll both end up being no fun, and in life mainly because you're in prison lol. What people should learn is if you took all that time and effort you put into cheating, you could've made a very nice, legitimate way of life.
Edit: Perhaps Cryptic fixed the bug back in closed beta, but in a future patch they bug fix was left out since that patch was worked off an older version or something...There's a reason why in every single game you play there are bugs that come and go, it doesn't necessarily mean the developers are lying... |

Make sure you read reviews on forum here before playing
General Discussion « Neverwinter 5/24/13 2:13:00 PM
When it comes to reviews and F2P games, it's better to just play the game yourself and ignore all the love/hate on the forums. Some of the hate threads are just because it's "cool". There aren't many "love" threads because people are playing the game, not posting the forums. So going by reviews is almost always 100% wrong way to go when it comes to f2p games...

[General Article] Neverwinter: Beta Diary #4
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 5/24/13 12:03:26 PM
I gotta agree with just about everything said. Except the easy part. If you haven't tried Lair of the Mad Dragon or The Grey Wolf Den on Epic or Castle Never...then you can say it's easy...These three dungeons are super super hard. Especially the final boss of The Grey Wolf Den. The other two are basically, "don't get swarmed by adds" kind of fights. The Grey Wolf Den boss is a pain. He has a move that targets where everyone is standing, and if you aren't moving when he does it, you're almost always going to get hit...it knocks you up in the air and deals super extreme damage...Also he spawns shadow wolves that pretty much can one it all but the heartiest of adventurers.

Watch all the haters...not one of them will hate on the exploiters...
I don't see what the big deal is, it's been fixed. It's like if people were still crying about the Rupee bug in Ocarina of Time...it's still there to this day since N64 games couldn't be updated...it was fixed in the 3DS version though hehe. |

Anyways, if you asked people their favorite MMO of all time, they'd almost all be older MMOs since they didn't have instant gratification. The newer players have no clue what a real MMO is (or was). |

Just wanted to say thanks again to you guys. I've been playing on this computer and it's amazing, especially for a laptop. Worth every penny of the original price, and a steal with the $450 I got off on it :D I'm getting 60 fps in everything I play (which is what it's currently limited at).

I guess he wasn't expecting people to use swords and magic...maybe he wanted them to use machine guns and nukes...that's real D&D isn't it? lol
My bet is number 1...Trolls gonna troll... |

Are Bans an Effective Deterrent in F2P Games?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/23/13 2:03:15 PM
Originally posted by Xiaoki it's not that hard to track down dummy accounts...they have logs of mail, so you mail them to another account, and another, and another, then finally your main...they'll know it and ban all of them... Just like an IP mask, there are ways around that as well. |

Originally posted by Murugan it means that players don't want to play a model viewer...they want to play a game, they'll always pick a game over a model viewer :) |

I wouldn't ban them, I'd start suing them. They are breaking the EULA and are liable for that. There's one thing that people will do and not do stuff for...that's money.

Gameplay will always trump graphics for ANY player. If you asked someone if they could have graphics with models that had 20 times the greatest engine could produce right now, but all you could do in the game is run around in a small circle, no combat or anything, or if you could have EQ graphics with a wide open world with a million things to do...100% of non-smartasses would pick the second lol.
That's why games like minecraft, LoL, WoW are so popular, gameplay. |

If you want a next generation gaming console, then you want a PlayStation 4--and not an Xbox One
Hardware « General Discussion 5/22/13 8:50:55 PM
Both Microsoft and Sony know that consoles are dying, that's why they're trying to branch out away from gaming. PC is the next gen console :)

One of my favorite not MMO or RPG games is Sins of a Solar Empire. You can get the original and 2 packs for $19.99, and the newer expansion, Rebellion, is $39.99. I'm sure you can find the original for really cheap. One of the best games I ever played.
I haven't played it in awhile but Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander 2 were also great games, you can probably get the cheap somewhere. i really loved how you could zoom all the way out to see the enitre map and show everyone's units and stuff, or zoom all the way in |

For the price of a normal game, you could buy 30 extra character slots :)
