DOTA2: Blizzard Suing Valve Over Trademark
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/11/12 10:11:01 AM
Every game then would be owned by the makers of Oracle, Delphi, C++, DOS then...that doesn't make sense to me. Next, Blizzard is going to sue Heroes of Newerth, League of Legends, and the million other MOBA games out there, since they're all basically the same game. |

I've been playing it with a controller and this game is awesome. I like every aspect of it, even the camera (i hate keyboard and mouse set up though). I knew this was going to be the case after playing the demo on both console and PC. The story gets interesting after the first couple of towns. Before that it was kind of boring. Not sure if that's because I played through it like 6-7 times, or if it's like alot of other RPGs (except the whole waking up in a pile of dead bodies hehe). I absolutely love the Might tree. I've only died three times on hard. I think there are plenty of combos and skills, you just have to spend your points to get them, which in some cases aren't the best thing for your level.
I gave Skyrim a 10/10 after some modding, KoA I would give an 8.5 (original score I gave Skyrim until I modded the pee out of it lol). Who knows, maybe we'll see mods for this game too :) |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Pokket Takes on SWTOR LIVE
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/06/12 10:44:39 PM
I play "Bodyguard" all the time in games...I guess tank or healer isn't for everyone hehe
I like it since you get total control over queues...queue with a dps and you wait an hour, queue witha tank or healer and it's like 5 seconds XD |

I'm torn between a couple of mounts from Rift...So I got them all hehe. I like the Murdantix too, but I find myself riding around on my Swift Armored Ash Strider...it took forever to get...stupid Keepers lol.
The Crocnard is cool too, i mean it's a croc +1 :D |

Other than the cosmetic mounts from digital collectors and the spider add-on ($10 each) there isn't anything you can buy with real money except those and a subscription. |

There's some limits to the game if you don't want to pay. You can only have 2 characters per server with a maximum of level 20. If you play on an old account with more, you can't create another character on that server |

Originally posted by Isasis This is why I say Skyrim, changing the ini you can turn the game into super beast mode and melt your computer lol. You used to be able to use a bow and shoot from the wall outside Whiterun and hit a deer or elk that took over 2 minutes to run to thanks to this...You had to aim like 2 inches over the little dot on your screen, but you could hit it with a couple of shots...They changed it though and added a maximum range on arrows :( |

I got married earlier to an irl girl...omg, right? We've been playing games together forever since DAoC, where we met. Her, a sexy little Kobold, and I, a big fat Troll, were unofficially married in that game as well. In FFXI, we got married by a GM (better than Rift's instanced versions). Now in Rift, we got married again, and not even an hour later she was asking me to run her through a dungeon a couple of times on an alt...We didn't even have our honeymoon yet. I had Porticulum (I still can't spell that thing right lol) tickest purchased to Ember Isle, where we'd go hang out on the beach and drink some Fauster's Ale (Mathosian for Ale lol), but she had other plans...I guess that's how marriage works lol. I hope she doesn't read this, I might have to "naked" duel her while she's in full armor again :( |

There's just nothing this game does exceptionally well
Reviews & Impressions « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/29/12 2:52:04 AM
I totally agree with everything the OP stated. I'm a die hard Star Wars fan. Halloween, I always dress up in my stormtrooper or darth vader outfit (empire ftw hehe). If I notice there's a SW marathon on spike or some other channel, I'll sit there all day and watch it. I called in sick for every single release of the last 3 movies so I could go to the midnight showing (in my trooper or vader costume hehe). I think I qualify as a SW fanboi, and I agree with OP. This game does not do the Star Wars universe justice. As said before, I'll stick with Rift. It might be a "theme park", but at least it is exceptionally done. I've never had a bug, problem, issue, or complaint since launch (except weapon stacking bug, which was fixed about 2 hours after launch). Developers today are lazy, and SWTOR shows it. It has no polish or immersion to the game.
Edit: Forgot to mention. I got a chest in my office closet at home full of Star Wars memorablia including original star wars figures still in the pack...yeah i'm that big of a star wars fanboi hehe. |

Site Suggestions « General Discussion 1/28/12 11:27:47 PM
I don't know why it was changed, but I miss being able to check out all the photos and listing them by the number of bumps they got. Now all you can do is arrange them by date posted :( My CC kitteh used to be one of the top 10 thanks to bumpage :D |

I'm subbed to 2 games, DAoC and Rift (both have been up and subbed since launch). I play Rift of pve and DAoC for PvP. There really isn't another game that has interested me to drop either of these to go play them. I played my free month of SWTOR, got to 50 and went to sleep lol. I generally always have 2 MMOs I'm subbed to, I can't keep on one thing for more than a couple of hours, unless I'm with friends doing raid or something. Rift probably holds the record for me playing non-stop at ~78 hours when it launched. DAoC is second way back when they launched new frontiers at like 40 hours straight. I rarely spend more than a couple hours now days playing any single game.
I also have several F2P and B2P games I like to play that don't require subs. GW, BF3, Skyrim, Sims 3 (I know I'm a wierdo, right?), Assassin's Creed Revelations, NFS the run....
Edit: If you haven't tried it, playing two games at the same time can be pretty fun. I set up my BD on DAoC to farm seals and stuff on one monitor, and play Rift on the other :) |

I was messing around with Skyrim mods the other day. I used the 2k mod and my CPU never goes below 95% usage, memory is always maxed out, and every single fan in my computer (6 of them) comes on and stays on....we have a winner. Really it's kinda cheating using mods to get it to do it, out of the box Skyrim runs easy though hehe. All this was on my desktop with i7, 8gb ram, and Radeon HD 6950 Crossfire X graphics cards...uh yeah that's a taxings :) |

I picked the old school tab targeting. I know people hate it, but I generally feel more at home with it. I hate dying because a hiccup in the internet, and my swing on my screen was perfectly placed, misses on serverside because of it. The only problem I have against no-targeting is that the infrastructure for the internet is so outdated and unreliable. Playing games on it is a miracle to say the least lol. Not to mention I get carple tunnel in my mouse hand from having to move it around so much.
My favorite is how Kingdoms of Amular has it. It automatically targets the nearest enemy to attack, based on which way you're facing. It's kind of a combination of the two. It allows you to minimally have to move the camera/character, while still taking some skill to make sure you're attacking the right target. |

Star Wars same sex marriage in game? Found this video in a Christian Youtube channel
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/28/12 11:36:55 AM
I'm 100% for 100% freedom in video games. If you have a bro-mance with another player, why not marry them...I mean if you marry a female character 99.9% chance they're a dude anyways lol. I was mad when the ESRB was created to give games "Ratings". Video Games are a form of art (upheld in the Supreme Court numerous times), and as such, developers have the right to design and release any content they want. Like it or not, you have a right to your opinion and expressing it, but you have no right to ban it.
Some say it's unnatural, but if you want to go natural, the whole institution is unnatural. We can go back to natural, having nomadic groups of women and men roaming the earth without houses, cars, money, or marriage...that's being a natural human being...but noone wants that right? lol |

What I've realised is people who are playing MMOs, do not actually want to play MMOs...
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/25/12 9:38:30 PM
I've said it for years, the community is the main thing that makes or breaks a game. In older MMOs, the community was very tight-knit. Today, everyone is in it for themselves, and couldn't care less for other players. In older MMOs, there were actually petitions (and sometimes didn't even need one) for Devs to even put in statues and memorials for players that passed away. In one of my old old timey MMOs the Devs even put in an entire town named after a player since he was the leader of one of the major guilds in the game. Now you'll never see anything of the like. Community on just about every game I've played (except Rift, FFXI, DAoC) should get a community score of 1-3 out of 10. |

I'm in the minority when it comes to questing. I'm one of the few that will sit there and read the pages of a quest storyline to get immersed in the story. I don't see how people play MMOs and just click n quest and have fun doing that. I've always been a story junky, and while I'm reading a quest I make up in my own mind how the NPC sounds. While voice overs are nice, the one's in SWTOR are horrid. Everyone just speaks perfect english, and alot of the same voices are used across multiple NPCs. Not to mention that you're stuck with the voice over for your character. There's no choice for you. The female sith was the only voice over that matched what I would do in my mind for how my character would sound. Everyone else is brittish sounding. My sith inquisitor was the worst offender. I wanted to make a Darth Maul clone, but the voice over for the Zabrak is just horrible, and that's being nice lol. |

City of Heroes: Death of the Statesman Interview
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/25/12 2:16:37 PM
the game isn't f2p. Since my level 50 MM isn't available to me, even though I bought the class with CoV...I guess they don't want me back. My $150 for buying expansions means nothing to them...everything I got in those expansions and original game are locked and have to re-buy them...uh no thanks. If I'm going to buy a game I'd rather it be something new, not something I've already bought. I never liked Statesman anyways, good riddens :) |
