Better than the last, but still, you ruin the comic by explaining it at the end. If people cannot figure the comic out on their own, the comic is not well done.

If you have to include an explanation with your comic, it's a bad comic.

[Column] General: Who Will Make The Epic Fantasy Game?
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 12/14/12 11:11:32 AM
Firstly, I don't understand how mmorpg.com lets you guys write without a spellchecker. Secondly, this game is not the mmorpg you think it's going to be. Oh, it will be a great game, but strictly speaking (and this has been highly debated on the forums) it is not an mmorpg, which is not to say that it doesn't have SOME mmorpg elements.

Curious about the motivation behind posting numorous negative reviews
Reviews & Impressions « Star Wars: The Old Republic 2/15/12 3:36:03 PM
There's not much else better to play, ergo they have more than enough time on their hands to repeat how much they dislike SWTOR. One does have to admit, however, that the game was significantly over-hyped. I'm still playing it and I find myself occasionally feeling a little disappointed. In my humble opinion, I think people feel cheated and ripped-off - they expected a lot more than they received. Honestly, I think they deserved at least a little bit more from Bioware. That is: I don't believe that the people who feel this way are totally out of line. That said, I'm also not here to bash on the game because, like I said, I'm still playing it. |

Originally posted by tixylix It's true that WoW has a singificantly larger playerbase, but none of the current (i.e. last expansion) raid content in EQ2 is PUG-able, whereas in WoW it is. The guild I played in when DoV was released had no problem fielding a full raid, but was still unable to take out the first boss in the easiest raid zone over the course of several nights - though admittedly we weren't a very skilled guild. My point being: the EQ2 current content is actually difficult, whether or not anybody is playing the game. |

Nadirim: Nadirim: The Indie Beast from the East
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 1/17/12 4:51:11 PM
I like the idea of this game, but after playing I wasn't incredibly impressed. While I admit only playing for a couple of hours, the game felt a bit stale. The music was nice, but the quests were typical. I didn't feel like the combat really required any strategy (and I wish that it did feel that way). The energy system is terrible and licks of Vindictus' token system except you get hit with a lack of energy much earlier; I ran out of it at level 5 and simply decided to go play something else and never come back. Also, 7.6 overall is generous, and 7.5 for innovation is ridiculous. I will say that the game should have received a higher social rating though. In the few hours that I played, chat was very active, friendly, and helpful. |

I still have to look at NPCs without eyeballs in cutscenes. Why the hell would I want an expansion over bug fixes? |

General: Nexon's IPO Signals Growth
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 12/20/11 3:07:53 PM
The Nexon IPO immediate slipped and faltered. If anything I'd say this shows that investors do not have a ton of confidence in the company. If they don't drop a big bomb AAA title that can actually compete, I don't think you will see them getting continued support. In other words, they have one shot and that shot needs to be the next big title. |

General: Skyrim - The Briefest of Reviews
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 11/17/11 11:53:05 AM
This is almost a troll post, which is slightly upsetting because I usually agree with your comments, Ozmodan. Coyote does mention that the UI is cumbersome and I agree. That said, it's not game-breaking, which is not to say that Bethesda couldn't stand to do a better job. Anyways, even if Coyote had failed to mention it, his review was still far from failed. It was clearly meant to be more humerous that a super-serious-let's-talk-about-every-little-aspect-of-the-game review. I laughed. I enjoyed this review. |

The diversity due to the sheer number of FTP games could also end up being a potential weakness. People might spend a few bucks on your game and then never come back simply because they found something else to play and weren't offered gameplay worth staying for. |

General: Five Forgotten MMO Features
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/21/11 2:34:57 PM
I agree with the OP. In general, this is often forgotten. Rift put it in a little too late and the only other game that comes to mind is EQ. When you mention AA to most people, they have no idea what you're talking about. I really do think it should be on a forgotten list and I believe that it would increase end-game longevity, particularly for casual players who cannot devote 3 or 4 hours a night to raid. |

General: The Future of MMORPG Revenue Streams
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 7/20/11 12:03:11 PM
I can appreciate the fact that us gamers don't want our games ruined by having over-powered advantages going to those who pay more, but we need to keep in mind that these games aren't free to make. A developer has to pull a profit somehow and, as such - and in my opinion - we need to be more open to potential pricing and income schemes. |
