I had the same experience. I double checked the website where I downloaded and it says "Play for Free" or something like that. LIEZ i say, LIEZ! |

This isn't completely true. Note though that you will not be able to contribute much until you at least 4-5 months after starting. |

I was hacked. I never bought gold, downloads anything for the game (people have asked if I downloaded a DPS meter and I haven't). The only 2 sites I've gone to are riftgame.com (the official rift website) and the character builder on zam.com. I never created an account on zam.com. I was using Google Chrome as my browser, but have since changed back to Internet Explorer since I can control more about the security (disable scripting and other things). I have no idea how I was hacked. This happened some time between 12:30AM and 4:30AM Saturday monring. I put in a ticket at 5AM on Saturday. Even this morning, I still heard nothing from Trion. I called Customer Service and they were completely useless and told me to be patient and wait for a GM. I just 10 minutes ago got an email from a GM and said, "we'll look into it". I find it hard to believe this is a #1 priority of Trion. I did nothing to be compromised (I will run the programs tonight that people have mentioned to try and find key loggers or any other spyware/trojans on my PC). Regardless of how it happened, it did and Trion has been just plain terrible with their response. I actually decided last night not to even bother waiting for their response and to just start playing again and start foraging/getting new gear with some help from some guildies. Trion made a good game, but their security sucks balls. EDIT: Just tried to login to game to see what the GM said and I can't even connect to the authentication servers. Also their website is unavailable...wonder if they are being DOS'd now and can't handle it. |

Just got my key from MMORPG and went to register. Password must be between 10-14 characters and can only be letters and numbers, no symbols.....WTF Why are Asian companies so terrible with security. I don't have a password I can easily remember that falls between 10-14 characters, and a maximum of 14 characters??? Then, they try to be secure, but only letters and numbers? Only using letters and numbers is just asking to have your password cracked. Just plain stupid. Anyways, who wants a beta key? |

That combat looks amazing. Can't wait to try this out. I looked on their site and couldn't find any information on a release date. Is there any information on this? |

Originally posted by park97 You seem surprised that East-Asian developers can only copy/paste each others models and crappy UIs and keep releasing F2P crap. They invented the F2P model because anyone of sound mind would not dare to pay for the crap they release. What an ignorant dooshbag you are |

Regardless of the region, this game is more Asian Import crap. The games are F2P because there isn't a single person in the world, that isn't insane or stupid, that would pay to play crap like this. |

I won't even sign-up for this game.....why do they require to know whether you are a male or female? Why does it even matter? Stupid asian companies |

Should ask why Asian MMOs keep releasing and failing in global markets |

I can't find myself to trust a company with any credit card information when they can't even secure a simple user account registration process (they store your password in plain text and then even email it to you). They just can't be that smart with such amateur security in place to start off with. |

I played Darkfall and I've very upset at the 2 weeks of gaming time they stole from my life. It's an absolutely terrible game. It will never expand because new players have no chance. |

You need the ability to toggle the sound off on your webpage. I closed it as soon as I opened it because of that loud, obnoxious, robotic voice. |

A. You need hard caps or the veterans will always outperform the noobs. |

Lol, Penta went back and edited his post....ROFL!!! Why do you keep thinking I had trouble with the missions? Are you trying to insult me? Please explain to me how I can possibly screw it up so a Continue button never shows up. Or how to get the 2nd mission to not create the Nav Jump point? Please do explain these obvious user errors to me, I'm just too much of an idiot. Maybe I'm "Word-Blind" and can't see buttons with the work Continue in them. Maybe I have the inability to find the green + on my radar and fly to it, to get to the jump point that was never set for me. QFT. I ased for help. I was insulted. I quit (after throwing back a few colorful insults of my own, cause I'm just that kind of guy). Go back to your "Massive" 50 player game fanboys. |

Ultima Online (the first ever real MMO) worked just like all the discussions in this thread. Why no one else has ever used that system again is beyond me. Guess it's that whole, different is better concept business folks think of../shrug |

This game is awful anyway. The interface is about the worst i've seen in a game. The most fun with this game was the mini-games in the downloader. |

I don't hate the game as much as I do the asshole filled community (the fact that the majority of them them are Linux and Mac users explains a lot). And as I've pointed out, it's not just myself that has had bad experiences with the community. Making excuses for this kind of treatment is just sad. The game has bugs, every game has bugs. Apparently, as is evident from the responses here, if you come across bugs, it must be your faulty, ou just don't know how to play, so you should RTFM and try again. Oh, the other gem of advice from these Linux asswipes, "boot into safe-mode and delete the windows\system32 folder". You've got to be kidding me. That's worse than the old "Alt+F4 will give you a power up" advice! Anyways, the compaints from even veteran players are there's really nothing to do. The game only has combat, escort missions, mining asteroids (for no purpose what-so-ever) and courier/trade missions. That's it. Saying it's coming, is not acceptable, the game was "released" 4 years ago, and is still in beta and hasn't had these features implemented in 4 years. They claim the game is updated more than any other game in the industry, but in the years that it's been out, it's had virtually nothing added. The graphics are amateur at best, the spaceships models look like monopoly game pieces. And Pentamorph, are you serious, in 14 days you've become such a fanboy. You're first response to me is "I've heard of issues like yours", but now it's RTFM and other such pearls of wisdom..... |

So I went back to the forums, on the VO website looking for anyone else having issues with Missions and came across a post in this thread - http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/1/20377 "Earlier my son was on and said that someone did ask a question about the grey space sector boxes showing bot's present when none were actually there and all the guy got was a ration of crap - read the manual noob, don't ask dumb questions, learn to read the map etc.... which speaks poorly of them." Hmmm, still think it's an isolated incident? Needless to say, I found nothing on the whole missions errors. Guess I could have tried re-installing or re-downloading the game, but the community has already pushed me away from trying anything more. |
