Any of you current players Ex WoW raiders?
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 7/03/09 6:28:08 PM
Originally posted by logangregor I play VG and can read and comprehend (sometimes :p) Anyways, I used to love raiding in WoW, that's why I play MMOs, and so far I seem to love VG. In the last interview with Salim? I think that's his name; he mentions new raiding content. Here's the article: http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/147/feature/3236/Game-Update-Its-Been-a-Long-Road.html and here's another: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/242005/Producer-letter.html
Just tell your friend to test it out, the 14 day trial is completely free so there's nothing to lose. There are so many dungeons in VG it's insane; it almost feels like you're able to raid from the very beginning.

Will there be a population limit in this guild, or is it the kind of guild that wants to just get its numbers up? |

I felt the same way BuzWeaver, but after giving into EQ2 a second time (About 1 and a half years after first leaving) I'm now hooked. What SOE has done with EQ2 over the years is absolutely amazing and I can now say EQ2 is truly an MMO masterpiece. If you're into a great community and absolutely awesome gameplay then I think you should give this game another try. |

They've done so many amazing things since launch. Also, I hope one day you're able to add "Zoneless" to the list. |

I used to play RS and WoW also, and decided to try out Vanguard because it had the "open world" type of thing going on. I also loved crafting in both RS and WoW, but Vanguard changed my mind on crafting; I no longer enjoy it and kind of miss the days of RS. Eq2 seems to be the best fit for me as of now, and it's crafting is actually pretty fun just not profitable, maybe they will fix this? Also, EQ2 has some of the most beautiful landscapes I have seen in an MMO, which is nice when you feel like having a little adventure once and a while. |

I just started playing again after about a year and a half. i left because my computer couldn't handle EQ2 at all and I didn't seem to like the way the game was, but my friend told me it has changed. After hearing this I decide to re-sub and start all over by deleting all of my past characters (I had no idea how to play them anymore) and I started a SK (never played one before). To my main point: Are there any casual, mature and friendly guilds on Najena looking for a mature Shadow Knight? I like raiding, but I don't think I'll be at a raiding level anytime soon since I am in college and I get quite a bit of homework and I aslo have to run my own business simulation program which takes some time. But I do get most of December and about a week of Januray off which I'll probably be playing a lot during this time. Thanks and PM me sometime my guys name is Suic (Evil Half-Elf). |

I have been thinking about coming back to EQ2 for some time now, but the thought of playing while trying to complete my college work tells me I shouldn't start up again. Anyways IF I do come back I will need a good solo class to play. Don't get me wrong I love grouping and guilds, but they never seem to like me and usually kick me after making up some random BS which never seems to get explained to me even though I ask. Back to the main idea though; do you think playing a ranger would be a decent solo class? P.S. I usually do well in groups it's just I have met a couple that were too strict and I guess actually thought they were their characters, and me being a human made a mistake while grouping (I've never wiped a group in EQ2 and rarely mess up my role, but if I do I get pounded for it everytime.) I guess I might as well ask this now. Are all EQ2 players this strict? Can you not have fun while playing EQ2, or do you have to think you are your character to be accepted? |

It's never too late this game is just hitting it big, and with the groups there are always tons of people to group with. Well atleast on Permafrost. |

Ya I played about 6 months after it's luanch, hated it and then quit. After realizing all the other MMO's out right now are terrible, I decided to try EQ2 again. I resubed 4 days ago, and I couldn't believe it! The game is awesome, completely different, and the new quests are original and quite fun. Also, the new races are pretty cool too. There's so much more stuff I could talk about, but I'm leaving to go play it some more. |

Actually the release of EoF, and a couple of the patches and updates was the "Rebirth" of EQ2, It's like a completely new game, and it's great. There are tons of low level players in the low level areas and you'll almost always find a group for whatever you want to do. Also, It seems that there has be a slight influx of players recently, and it seems the game is really catching on. There is going to be another expansion released in Nov 07 along with a "skeletol update" which is for all new character models and armor sets to make them more "exciting" i'm guessing, not that the armor sucks now. |
