<p>Since you brought this up, I'm just going to point out the last words on this article: "Although the game draws much inspiration from Ultima Online and Shadowbane, unlike both of those MMOs, they don't plan on releasing it until they are content that it's a finished product. They are making the game that they have always wanted to play and they will not compromise. They know they're catering to a niche market and they're content doing so. And if they don't get a publisher, they are prepared to self-publish to see this vision become a reality. Will they pull it off? It's that stubborn streak in them that makes me think that they just might do it. And if they do, it has the potential to be a real gem to the PVP community." I wonder why this article is supposed to bring joy to DF fans. Ill highlight 3 clauses... enjoy my humour: In any case, there are only 4 months left until the end of this year, so we will know soon enough. |

Actually what we have, honestly, is the address of a company named Aventurine, that does god knows what, and a site that says nothing for more than a week now. Sorry if I am getting repetitive here, but seriously guys, I got every reason to say that something is not right here. Anyway this is not a topic of this post and Suitepee, you are not eligible to speak on behalf of them when it has to do with corporate issues, unless there's something else going on here....
cheers

Oh look, another one that wastes time searching statistics like this one lol. Incidentally for all you, DF believers, there's still NO official association of Aventurine with Darkfall. Their site is still "upgrading" (lol), while on the other hand, easy remarks like those are just shit thrown in the fan. If they need a year to make a simple web page, I can imagine why it takes 7 years and then some ;) for the real game. My 2 cents remark... let the flaming begin. (incidentally I do wish you all they will finally publish that game, but I reserve the right to doubt) |

Hardly a fan of this game. I was not and still am not persuaded by the looks of a couple of videos/pics it will ever going to -if surfaced- compete against modern mmorpgs. I wanted to know the address of that company and now we have 2 different addresses !! Anyway, I am waiting for an official association and a link pointing to the only one company that is about to make this game. |

Finally it wasn't that dificult was it? We now have a hint of a company, and from what it seems they are updating their site. Hopefully they will create a corporate image, because what they had was simply fake. I want also to see them link the company to that game in an official manner, which is the proper thing to do. And yea I can raise the "scam" title. Don't you all feel more confident now that you have a real company behind? (remains to be seen though as I expect a decent web page) |

Why do someone has to do ANY kind of searching like you propose, if the "supposed company" doesnt want to reveal information? On the contrary, I suggest that you do this instead, since as it seems you can find a lot of "vital" information when needed, or when things seem "bad" :p (let me guess: some friend feed you with these :p)
There's no need to comment those pics.
However I'm commenting on this video: http://www.the-combine.net/misc/df_pvp_alpha.avi Is this what you mean by alpha? Are you happy with this?
TBH I think Yoda93 is correct :)

Again, I have never heard this thing: ToC how many times do I have to say... you can, however send me a link for it.
DF I have met it just 10 days back and I am overwhelmed by the fact that it's possible a couple of rumours some screens and one outdated video can give hopes, keeping human beings happy for some 5+ years (an indication why we all need politicians and leaders :p)
Rules are already laid down in the games industry, DF is clearly breaking these rules and this is what I have shown to all of you here. So, no more pics please. If I was you I would prepare myself for a big disappointment

Well don't bother finding we ALL got the message Let me summarize: Why would they move to Greece, hire 20 people, go to game conventions, give interviews to gaming sites, etc. if it's a scam.. - what would they gain from it? We are talking of ancient history here. For a thousand of reasons is my answer. Here is my reasoning: 7 years back they did started something. However the project was big and specs were amazing. Evidently they couldnt manage the thing, funds were coming short and then... somewhere in 2003.... They went all puff? No not all. There is still one left fighting, I guess you all know to whom I refering. What does it have to gain? well a lot of things. Company buyouts, attract venture capitalists, selling of intellectual property, you name it. However to make things easier for you here's what i found : http://www.sioufas.gr/epikairothta_13_4_05epan432.htm in here as you can see the company which is demoted or more likely, made from the ground up(remember the first one was an SA, this one is Ltd.) participates in a public competition for funding projects and wins a contract of 265.236
euros. I bet EU is also taking part in this progam, and EU are all of us guys. This all is of course ancient history and I cannot be convinced that what I see, which is already outdated (graphics remind me of wolfenstein |

They dont have the time to setup a decent web page for their company, yet they update the website of their game regularly?? Listen to yourself: you really believe what you saying there? Ok since their time is very limited (LOL) I asked for an address or even a phone number. Where are these? Or are these secret too? Seriously you find ANYthing in common with Warhammer online? I wonder. On the right there are the awards -from every decent reviewer- on the left every bit of information from the team that makes it to the company itself. So no, its not a scam Take another example: PoBS, www.burningsea.com these too, have delayed their product but look how they document everything, you see anything like this within DF? Anyway guys you gotta give me something more than a fake photo of Acropolis taken in 2003 which supposedly shows where these guys work, and a better video than darkfallgameplay.mpg. |

Whatever makes you feel comfortable mate.
However for the sake of clarity and professionalism, they are obliged to present a company of some sort with details, instead of impersonating schemes that have seized to exist years before. Neither Razorwax nor Aventurine exist in the Greek market of today.
Believing in something that WILL eventually get published, which WILL be the best mmorpg of all is what just wishful thinking. By then I will become mr.Gates in place of Bill Gates

Guys, I don't know, you don't know other peoples motivations. One might have a thousand reasons for a corporate face. I don't know.
All I can tell is, that from what I see here the whole thing looks very suspicious. And I can't rely in screens nor videos when I see suspicious lack of information for such a huge project.
Of course this is what I believe. And I might be wrong. Only way to prove it is by evidence. W3 came and gone. Rumours about participating there, but instead it's only more interviews and no actual screenshots of the event. Neither there is any participant there, listed under the name aventurine... so... It's either more time to wait or...

Because, from what I have seen/searched so far it seems to me like a scam.
And because everyone in the net can claim everything without expense.
And because if you really have such a winner in your hands you advertise it. You don't hide in the dark.
To my eyes it's just a project that went poof in 2003, never being able to produce anything. Him/They who are left behind have their own reasons to keep the project alive, but I won't trust them until I see beta invitations.
Nice still pictures and just one video of rolling landscapes persuade you there is a game out there so phenomenal as he claims?

How can I do proper research? Im not a researcher. Not my fault If darkfall doesn't say anything about their producers ....
Oh wait .... http://www.razorwax.com/webcam/ rofl tell them to change background screens... it seemed they forgot to do it the last 3 years :D
Other than that, who is Razorwax? What's it's size? It's funds? doh... anyway you really want to believe in myths. Not my problem

Simply, these companies violate EULAs in more ways than one. It's more a matter of game companies to take legal action against them, unless all they really want is:
1. Another one exploit their game or use it as a means for other exploits
2. Destroy gameplay of their products, by avoiding all the grinding that's supposed to take place.
3. Destroying months of work to create worlds needed for equipment and skill

You guys really believe that this unknown company will EVER be able to realise such a huge game, with all these features? 5 years are not enough to persuade you for a dropout project?
May I ask please: Who is Aventurine and why isn't it advertised on the Darkfall site? I did a little searching in Google and I found nothing in regard with Aventurine. Does it even exists as an entity? What are it's funds? (remember, we are talking of a company that makes no real profit the last 5 years) How many are it's co-workers? (so far I only see one man: Tassos Flambouras)
