WTF im so enraged at this thread. I'm not depressed!

I played EQ II way back when it released and since had to stop for some RL. I was considering playing again from scratch. I have a couple questions.
First is there still activity going on or is this a game in decline? If not are some servers more active then others?

Secondly, what are the most up to date online resources for information? For questing and starter guides ect.

Next, this the most important. I played EQ1 for a long time and had to quit for work reasons and when I came back my guild was so far ahead of me I could never catch up. They more or less couldn't use me. Is this the case in EQ2? Will I ever have a chance of running with a high end raiding guild regardless of how much time or effort I put into the game? I put alot of time into games and I would rather not start if I can never contribute to a group that has been around for a few years.

This would be the only way I would play WAR... yes, you read that right.

For all the whiney "mmo experts" who feel the need to complain about every change to every game... I have yet to play your awesome game that provides exactly what EVERY player wants.  if "they" changed "your" game and you don't like the change you should tell the world about it because of course everyone cares about your opinion.

It's so odd that the one thing that makes MMOs so great also make them suck... players.

This post jumps out as me a tad bitter. I suggest you try knitting or bird watching if MMO's make you so angry.

Twinks will not be an issue in Scenarios for one reason. YOU GET XP, and they will level out quickly  and then no longer eligible for that tier. Especially if your killing everything in your path and winning.

War even in its less then perfect state is more fun to most people then WoW is with years of coding. If you don't think its fun then go back to WoW. If WoW was so good then you would have never tried Warhammer in the first place.

Really is this what is burning you up inside so much you have to ask? Just put down the keyboard and pick up that shiny object you stare at for hours on end. This will make everyone else happy.

I have to agree that the arch mage starts with its crappiest dps spell. I played an Arch mage up to 21 and templates of 31 and 40. In all these templates and playing I never used the level 1 nuke. After level 4 I could have easily removed it from my bar.  At level 40 you have 4 different dots to stack and between that and healing you dont have time for long casting nukes.

The loot tables and items in general need some work thats all ready been identified by Mythic. I would guess they want to get class balance to a certain point before introducing balance changing gear. I have seen some of the level 40 gear and it is not to shabby looking but it needed work on the stats. I am sure this will get fixed soon.

The short answer is YES. There are many battlegrounds and other RvR related activities for each teir and they are all releveant to the endgame. So you can have fun at any level range all the way to 40. This isn't a game designed to grind or suffer to max level to get to the fun stuff.

Magus along with Squig herder and Engineer is being reviewed. Since they are all ranged pet classes they need a lot of love.

Class balance is far from being done.  the flow of battle it something Mythic wanted to preserve. To not have combat be done in 2 shots or 5 seconds.  I think all dps needs a small boost. Healers have the small advantage right now but that will be addressed I'm sure. So far they have been doing smaller changes and trying not to have the huge pendelum swings in balance leading to the class or mastery of the month.

Another point is that a toon with full green gear will completely own a person with out  gear even with a couple levels on them. Since gear is not apperantly visable early on use this rule of thumb. Untill level 12 or so if they have a cloak shoulders and a helm and you do not you are way overmatched.

I have been in beta since beta 2 and I have seen the game come a long way.  The OP had it right. I hate how some people are so judgemental of this game in beta no less. They have 3 weeks of beta left and people are compairing it to games that have been out for years. I even saw one review as if the game had been released. lol I have played games at release that were complete disasters and unplayable. This game is 95% stable and 80% done with the starting mechanics (crafting is a mess, loot tables are in need of work).  I have seen some bug fixing and content reshaping that would boggle your mind.  Beta 3.3 patch notes were like 30 pages or so.  Mythic has got a very good game and most poeple will enjoy it but its not for everyone. If you dont like it dont play it and if you do then go nuts.

I am sorry that I ever clicked on that. I have unwittingly added to his viewed total. I wish I could take that back.

Keep in mind that that isnt the latest version. So expect a 254meg patch (i'm just guessing since the NDA is still in effect)

I doubt many people have the exact version they are sending via torrent. The older beta testers may not even know whats going on. Once the file actualy gets out on the web then you can beg for seeds. I doubt there are any other then the original at the moment.

There are several Battle grounds and several world RvR objectives. It is impossible to control all these points. If one is dominated by one side the other  will move to a lighter defended objective.  The cities are designed to be captured and they will fall I am sure balance will be closely watched at all times.

I would say Mythic will release a date by the end of July or the start of August.  Everything seems to be running at full swing now what with all of the beta invites and all.

HAving an inside look at the game I would expect more like a late October release. It is true the game is in good shape but several things are missing that need addressed. However I can say this. The game is in better shape now then most games are at release AOC anyone.

Eve is a revolutionary game and will set a standard for many games to follow in the future.  The one problem I had with this game is that the inherent travel system and PVP are a bad fit. I dont have a good solution but its quite anoying. Everything PVP wise is centered around the gates IE. gate camping or not. There are never any battles like you see in the movies its all about catching the other guy off guard and running to the safe gate or POS.  ITs like playing a cross between "whack a mole" and paintball. If you can work with in that system its great.

OH wow I never saw this coming.........

It would be realy easy to set up such a system.  As long as you have a little time to registerd all the email accounts. Just make a simple browser program that cycles all the cookies once a day. Although I hope they are scanning for duplicate names and addresses.
