It's not that raiding's hard it's that pre-BC, take MC for example, there's roughly 10 epics per boss (8 bosses) and there's 40 players raiding, but the dungeon can only be raided once every 7 days (bosses don't respawn). PvP on the other hand, farm wsg/ab/av for 6-8 hours/day (which is roughly the time a new raiding guild takes in MC) and you'll pick up an epic every other day. PvP>PvE@itemgain.

When they released the new honor system just before BC came out, every bwl/aq40/nax raiding guild stopped PvEing, because it was so much easier just to pvp insted of raiding and still come out with an epic every other day. If they made epic sets on-par with raiding gear, no one would PvE.

Are the expansions required to play EQ2? I understand that I can pick up a copy of EQ2 and start gaming, but will I be missing out on features from the expansions? I'm not really sure if I should buy EQ2 aswell as all the expansions and adventure packs or wait and slowly buy the expansions + adventure packs as I progress.

Briefly reading through some of the expansions and such, it doesn't really sound like i'll see much of them except for the achievement system come 20. If I do miss alot of features pre-20, how big will they be?  

So basically is it worth shelling out on all the expansions and adventure packs right away?
How about prestige and influence? Will I beable to participate in PvP and gain these without the correct expansion?

I'd appreciate any feedback, cheers.

For some reason i'm unable to get to the account creation page, it just goes to page cannot be displayed x.x dunno why, same with forums. Been trying to work out the problem, changing my internet explorer settings, opening ports 'n such, can't seem to figure it out. No ryzom for me then ;<!

I downloaded the "Ryzom Downloader Setup 070402.exe" (downloading 060928 atm to see if this works) installed it, but for some reason it won't connect and start downloading. Also the forums don't seem to work and I cannot seem to create an account. Anyone got an ETA on when they'll be up and running?
