Heh, I've been really torn. I'm currently playing on eerie downs, but. I'm a little obssessive compusive about naming. I can't stand running through the game and looking at the names like oldman and tank ;). I thinkin about moving to an open rvr server, where the names are a bit stricter. Us roleplayers do have better manners ;). |

The game has been released, I've been playing since closed beta. I am done with my long winded come replies to your simpleton posts. All I have require is a time card to play again.
Buddy live start was only less than a week long, not sure of the date because I missed out on it sadly. If you were really a player of the game then maybe you heard of something called realm war. Use it bud. The highest level character is a rank thirty-five bright wizard on the azazel server. I try not too judge too harsly by grammar or posts. Not all of us are the greatest of spellers. But when you typed "johnny boo hoo was tired of milking his dad for money." or some ludicrious shit like that. I stopped reading.I really hope you are nine bub. MMOs are a pocket sinker, and we waste our money on it. Yet we enjoy it. Mow some lawns or something, its good for you. A sixty day time card cost around thirty bucks without tax. Thats almost two months, if you cannot make that in two months, take some business classes , or use your damn head. Play the damn game past level ten you dolt. You see what I did there, with the character level. A little research. Tell me, whats your highest level career. Do you prefeer a straight tank, healer, a mixture like the sp? Mythic is handling the servers well with cloning and such, and most if not all will be filled to the max to ensure maximum population for rvr. Morons should not be allowed the internet. I've said it once and I'll say it again, everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. But don't post something that myself, and the other posters before me could easily type an intelligent responce too just by bashing our heads on the keyboard. As to your topics title, reviews and critics are nothing to take seriously, its ones own joy with the product that counts. Did you really expect any less? Of course legions of happy fans are going to come here and score the game favorably. I myself find the enjoyable. Oh and as to that who "grinding" fetish you have. Everygame is a gring. Wether its finishing a level, collecting powerups ect. Its all the same repitive garbage, the gaming industy and hollywood have at the moment run a little dry. But go back to everquest, the product will not always agree with everyone, but it agrees with enough at the moment to keep it alive, vibrant, and running. |

The quests are just like every other mmo quest. What I like about them is the tone, each race's quest has a different tone about them. They are basically kill this, deliver this, ect. But it feels warhammer esq.The quest lines can be humourous. Such as the time when I had to get ale for a bright wizard. At the end of the quest he drunk it and blew fire into a fire place. IDK, |

If the Op took a little time to look around, he would realize that many many people are have CTDs(crash to desk top.)This could be due to thier computer specs. But absolutely superb computers will also crash. This is mainly due to the beta client itself. While the client is not the full game we will buy, mythic has software in there checking information, compiling survays, and noting crashes. This is one reason for the crashes. Another is that its a BETA client. The devs have a more polished version worked out. Why it isn't patched to us? Closed Beta is over by monday. Open beta will see a major improvment with little to none ctd and a fix on many bugs. |

Although harsh, the above poster has a point. PvPers aren't narrow minded blood hounds. I myself am a roleplayer and love exploring. My guild in WoW roleplayed. Yes there are people who like to PVE more and others that like to PvP more. But that doesn't mean both side's interests don't lap. The hand of sigmar was going to be a roleplaying guild before I lost the will power to recruit people. There are also many roleplaying guilds planning on trying warhammer. |

I would like to add onto this zerg fest comment. Has anyone tried playing with an intelligent group of people? You need to find people who can think for themselves and are dedicated to thier combat roles. I will give my brother and myself as an example once again. Warrior Priest and Ironbreak who can play decently well can take on a group of players by themselves. Most of the time we fight other "zerglings" who think rushing is the only true tactic and we smash them into the dirt. Make use of collision detection. We climbed a tower and held them off there. This was all in open rvr. |

Mythics other product has had a large and loyal following and is still running today despite forums. There is no reason why WAR cannot continue the same tread. |

i like the fragfest because it is actually FUN
why would you rather do tedious tasks in an MMO? life is a hard enough grind as it is It is a matter of opinion ghoul, but how about some reasonable explanations to go with your disgust for the game. For example. Crafting is the terrible: Players are limited to just six professions. There are no recipes. All one needs to do is scavange and mix the ingridients together. It is a huge silver sink, unless you go scavenging and sell the loot for cash. Why I like it: I don't give two shits about crafting,I had always found it useless. Even back in my WoW days you could never craft anything really useful at the higher levels. Why PVE Sucks:DOAC was known for its pathing problems. The game is still in beta and npcs have terrible pathing issues where they attack stop and run back. Making it easy to kill them. Wether or not this will be fixed at launch remains to be seen. Why I Don't Care: Yes the pathing is a joke, but most mmos ive played open world npcs are more or less easy to take. The only real real challenges should be instanced npcs and bosses. The npc level can be difficult, but most people level so rapidly due to rvr and quests that they quickly overpower that areas npcs. I found that when I went to a zone with my witch hunter where the npcs where more or less evenly my level, my wh had some problems. No Large World to explore Why Some People hate it: One cannot simply run from one end of the world to another. Tier 3 and 4 are smaller than the first two. Why I dont see a problem: Well if some players newer to the Warhammer ip took the time to look at the world map, they would notice the actual large distances seperating the zones. There are entire countries between them even. Ya they could have mashed them together, but that would have screwed with the ip and future expansions, and games workshop doesn't like people messing with thier kid. The zones are pretty open if you take time to walk off the traveled path, and it takes awhile to walk the length of both tier zones. The fact that each zone is instanced can be contributed to a few things. Higher textures, open world rvr, the rvr mechanic itself. Quake, not really an mmo: First off, have you played the game? Have you been in any other beta. No game has an easy launch. Because the game isn't the regular pve grindfest I've experienced with other games like AO, SWG, COH, MoX, and WoW doesn't mean its not a mmo. Never compare games from two different genres to each other. Like is like a food critic comparing the main dish and the dessert. |

First off, please if you are gonna troll or correct someone, make sure your facts are also straight. After counting, there are indeed twenty individiual classes. Aye while you can mindlessly zerg a scenario or open rvr zone its pointless. It is also horrible to assume that this is all the game is. I was in closed beta by myself, it was alright, I enjoyed the game. Preview weekend starts, and my little brother gets in. Warrior Priest+Ironbreak=great team. Using your head wins battles, having someone you know, even one person greatly increases the fun value. I cannot tell you how many times my little brother and myself have soloed whole groups of enemies too stupid to target him. Try finding a guild when you start the game it helps. I find pqs to be quite fun, but when there are too few people its impossible to do. Go to the second tier one dwarven zone. I didn't even find the pqs till the end of the quest lines there. Besides my dominion set has better stats than any pq loot atm. I find WAR's combat more enjoyable than wows. I played wow until a month before the bc. I left not because of gameplay, but because I didn't have time to do end game dungeons and Blizzard butchered the lore in my opinion. I remember my old days at the old cross road battle grounds and alteric valley. Alteric Valley was especially a zerg fest. Yes the combat is faster, and there are stragetic ways to take out your enemy instead of just nuking them. Shaman slow totem, frost shock, ect. But I feel the primary mark against WAR's combat is due to its slow autoattack. Which perlexes me entirely. On every class that I have played I have had no problems quickly getting my spells or AP attacks off, and the AP regen isn't that slow, by the time I'm out of ap I only need a few spells to finish off the enemy or npc. WAR combat just feels more stragetic, although it is a little assnine when we cannot take out a zealot five on one. Those damn healers. |

There is a last name vendor in the game. So its a reasonable guess that you can create last names. So when you start the game don't give your character two names. |

Thats like sticking GTA in for five minutes decided you don't like the driving and shut it off and tell people that you actually played it. Why do game reviews suck? Mainly because the reviewers don't spend enough time with the game. I never played Tabula Rasa, even if it I was horrid I'd try it for atleast a week. |

Its not the company its the tards they hire. ITs terrible. My gamestop is full of wanna be war fans. Its terrible hearing gape over things that were in the planning process months ago and arent even in the game. You pre order the game there, they dont tell you about the card. I had to see a movie, went in, payed eighty bucks and left without asking for the card. I assumed they would have handed me one. A few weeks later I walk in and ask them whats up and they hand me the last code>.>. My little brother went in and the guy told him the se code is just the same and the ce edition code. Totally dumbass, screwed my brother out of ce beta experience. |

Okay, while im suffering from the withdrawal pains from the addiction i have developed over a short time playing a game, I thought it would be fun to have a topic with a lighter tone.
What was your best moment in beta so far. I have two. My first was when i got a warband together and dominated New Emshrank. Sadly I had a CTD and when i logged back on my warband was losing My other favorite moment is getting the drop on a goblin shaman. I don't know if its thier size or what not. But theres something positively satisfying in beating em to a pulp. |

Originally posted by girlgeek Firstly, I'd like too correct you if you don't mind twhint. There will be three servers are launch. Core, Open RvR, and a Roleplaying server. Core is the way the game was meant to be said. Thats all. Open Servers are when you are always flagged, always. So its possible to have some massive battles outside of rvr pools. Roleplaying. Just like core, stricter naming policies and such . Not sure of the mechanics of this server though.
Now the chicken thing. Oh man. I was all for it until it actually happened to me. I was in the tier one open rvr pool area when i leveled one level past its requirement. It was a 1-12 area, and I was level 13. Instantly BAM turned into a chicken. I giggled and thought no biggy, I'll just avoid enemy players and finish my quests there. Didn't happen. See, whenever you enter an open RvR area and are flagged, you will turn into a chicken, if you are above that areas level. This is a great system to encourage people to move on and discontinue ganking or griefing. But I instantly saw many flaws when I was turned into one. First off, you have one health and an attack that does one damage. Even npcs one shot you. For Tome of Knowledge and obsessive players like me who like to get every quest in the area done( which is quite simple btw) It is a night mare. This mechanic means you cannot finish any quests you have in an rvr pool area. Now this does't mean you cant stay in tier one. It just means you can't open world rvr. Secondly, this will be a huge disadvantage to Open world rvr server players. Seeing how you will always be flagged this mean you cannot go back to a previous tier at all without being chickenized. I can think of a few things Mythic could have done better. But thats not what this thread is for. The reason for the chicken method, is plain and simple. Everything you do contributes to the effor. Quests, Keeps, Scenarios, Pqs. It helps ranks up your cities and give players benefits.(Which was why the inevitable city is always one step ahead of us.) This stops higher level players from coming into low tiers and contributing points to thier side. |
