The Secret World: Lovecraft's Influence on The Secret World
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 7/31/12 12:54:59 PM
Im sick and bored of zombies zombies zombies. The figuring out puzzles and using the clues your given are best part of the game but even those come off as something from a bad play. The game has nice weapons available instead of sticks and stones but the language used to keep you informed doesn't compare. I guess all the zombies are to satisfy the people who want to just shoot and kill things while the cryptic clues feed suto intelects ego. Asking for assistance at times the community can be insulting. Which is a good thing cause hopefully they stick to tsw leaving other mmos to the players who like to help each other out. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: A Bittersweet Week
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 5/24/12 10:54:56 PM
Signing onto a game where there are max 6 other players and most times less feels like a single player game without the ability to advance. Without people there is no market to upgrade gear, etc. Why they didnt prepare for server merges while building the game now its getting too late. People are dropping off while they are scrambling to plumb the code in a way that if stubbed in the first place would have taken place already. While they lose poplulation to other mmos how the hell are they going to attract them back? Lot of good ones out there now and they copied the best gameplay of swtor anyway. |

Cool, thanks much for the info. I liked the game but After they charged me a second time 50 bucks unecessarily, then talking to them they said yes they collected 50 bucks they shouldn't have but F-off because its not their problem, i have this principle thing not to go back. Sounds like its not worth it anyway. thanks again for the post. |

Champions Online: Champions Online Review
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/07/11 4:10:31 PM
CO is a game you can pick up and play for fun. I would categorize it as an Arcade mmo. since its F2P its gone nuts. they did a lot of fine tuning and details added (sounds, language, script, etc.) If your a hard core fantasy (wow type) mmo player, ya might not like it. Emphisis on Arcade style mmo. I can not put the damn game down. Poster says secondary and he is right. My work and life are primary, CO offers a break from it. I really would like to know what is recomended for "primary" mmo's. Eve? I hear thats a life in its own. What does one commit their entire game time to? WoW? Eve? Fallen Earth? FOM? there are so many but few really popular. Ryzom had the nicest comunity ever and see they are rated up there. Anyway, CO in my opinion is a great modern game, more substance then dcuo at the moment, but then again its been out much longer. I (not everyone, but others did say same in CO chat window) got bored with dcuo and went back to CO. I should go back to COH/V for the hellavit. A month for 15 bucks is entertainment value maximus. I just dont like sticking s^%t on my drives cause uninstalling properly requires manually picking through your registry. Noticed this system still has fallen earth so might try it even though they ripped me off 50 bucks and said FU when i described. They agreed it was mistake in their favor but never the less they kept the cash and told me to F myself. |

Yea it could have been.... What ever, I know a bunch of people that could have made a success when othes didn't . Thing is... they never did a thing but talk. So... i can not say where Criptic is short but, maybe not at all. who knows? The games graphics are killer, the missions are good as any mmorpg. Space is a hard one to make mmorpg casual maybe? EVE online players if you are HardCore, don't get going please. I understand Eve and it's incredible theory, i agree with it all the way. But mmorpg's are not a Life Sacrificing event. Eve is great but.... Not enought room for another. In the mean time, STO is good. What else can you do in space? Will Tell Ya how this GAME wuD ROCK !!! Its not What do ya do in Space, duh, iT is WTF can ya do TO the planet!!! Allow STO to attack CO. A new expansion. Aliens vs CO, Like War of the Worlds or Mars Attack. Anything. The work put into this program could kick ass if unleashed on the other. Cryptic let your products go to war!!! Hell make it a third product if the co and sto world wanna be left alone. the scenerio could bring on as much as the box office did if done right. |

Sorry forgot the most important thing. I can get off this drive? No reason to think it will have a future? Hopefully it copies GTA all the way, get rid of the sissy ass weapons. Wait, did GTA have sissy ass weapons? No..... Let the mmorpgers go elsewhere and the GTAers take it once it gets in line with GTA. |
|
|
exactly, thanks. Damn, didn't EA have its name on this somewhere? Realtime has a great concept but dissapointing game "IF" it's expected to by GTA of any kind. The weapons were a joke just like other fps/mmos. Ya have to satisfy the mmoers making LEveling the pre-requisite for any weapons to work. FPSers want practice and skill. I am objective, practice and skill should count most. LEveling while watching tv or what ever is cool too. ya Can Not have both. Levelers are Not going to let a day old newbie kick their ass, even though that day old newbie spent more hours practicing then mmorpger could ever dream of logging. Difference is Time vs Practice. mmorpger = time. FPSer = practice. Personally, spending time without effort and expect equal results as person who works their ass off practicing is the excuse to except failure. Sounds like the Unions mentality. Sure, Everyone gets equal bennies but the minority work for us? B.S. Have fun. |

APB: Reloaded: All Points Bulletin Review
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/02/10 5:17:34 AM
This game doesn't offer a First person View? They should be embarrassed of the guns in this game. Nerf Gun Arena blows these pieces of crap away. The magnums wont stop someone hitting them solid three times dead center heart, just wakes them up to turn around and spray ya with bb's. They were probably hoping a company would buy them out or gain attention for their talent. Which they deserve, they have talent developing the game, graphics, etc. The Gameplay sucks, thats all. haha. Crimecraft has a new video (new to me), featuring the weapons games like APB should issue. |

It is such a waste of great concept.
General Discussion « All Points Bulletin (APB) 8/13/10 2:11:35 PM
Someone buy it and either make it a FPS or and MMO with optional PVP. The later of the two would be successfull. MMO players do not like forced PVP. First Person Shooters dont like weak assed guns and being forced to play in 3rd person. Want an example? Sign onto UT, Quake and all the REAL FPS games. Your hit once your dead. Remember how many servers ran instagib? ONLY the real FPS players will understand. NOW, MMO players, they don't want to be forced into PVP and the concept of actually aiming is foriegn to them. People can probably understand both genres have more to them then these couple sentences, There is a big difference. Is RTW trying to produce a new hybrid market? Good Luck. Wish someone would come out with a game with big realistic world using the specs of real life guns. Since when can you hit someone dead square in the heart 3 times with a magnum resembling the desert eagle and they turn around and spray you with bb's? Sell the game RTW, to someone knowing their audience, Please. |

Brilliant a driving game without wheel and pedal support.
General Discussion « Need for Speed World 8/04/10 1:35:53 PM
You are right, Could be great with Wheel support. What is even Worste is you can NOT even remap keys at all. They really blew it. Driving games without wheels could be acceptable if keyboard keys could be remapped to something more comfortable then a cramped wasd config. |

TheGameCrashes, So does the damn site. wtf for info?
General Discussion « All Points Bulletin (APB) 7/04/10 5:41:18 AM
Every time the Game crashes, I can't get on their site for news or info saying what up. But, When the Launcher works there is a message saying its up again, thanks for the patience, etc. bs, bs. Is the damn thing relying on one server? Game goes down and everything else? I hope I am wrong but does this happen to anyone else? could be and i hope its my backwards connection and not the games server relying on play and information. No way, No ones that stupid to cut off customers from knowing whats going on. Must be my dsl. |

I am asking in this forum because the forums are not working in APB. The latest news is early access to those who pre-order through Direct 2 Drive and Steam. Fine I might preorder through one of em. I asked my local Gamestop what they knew about early game access. They said nothing. I told them take the minimum deposit and if they didnt include ya i will cancel. The retailers, humans people talk to for advice are told they have outgrown their use. Might make sense. Gamestop here carries mostley console stuff. EA makes console stuff? Gamestop and all other store front retail outlets might be clogging the lines at EA. Is that why most their support site is down? can anyone reply to a question in forum? Funny, Largest corps in the world keep trying yet they havn't succeeded. EA? cut my teeth on their dos games in 80, Love em but then I was probably the age who ever made this call is now. Best of Luck. Don;t blow it again. EA has shut down other mmo's because they didn't profit EA. They could have but.... maybe they didn't know how, if they didn't know, well then according to them know one could know. they called it something like sundowning. Sell Direct when your machine can handle it all. The contract with your new tool probably ends when that was predicted. |

It's reallly over for MOST of us MMO vets.
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/17/10 5:01:55 PM
O.P. I admire your time of enlightenment. I wish I could follow through on exactly what you say. For some reason I find myself reliant, or call it what it is "addicted" to the mindlessness or wash rinse and repeat. It has become a my main vehicle of therapy. Personally i just quit Fallen Earth out of for reason of principle. they ripped me off by charging me for the game twice and customer support says not their problem. I explained how i thought it was for subscription only since a key was no where requested again in form. They ignored. With customer service like that i don't see much of a future for the company. Game could be salvaged if aquired by one with actual business experience. This being their first real P.C. product, the only other thing is one phone game out period you think they would try and be a little more accomodating. Not like im asking for anything other then money they aready took from me once. Tells me they need every cent they can get even if its taken dishonestly. Have fun with your new non mmo life. I hope to do the same soon. On the positive side if these things were out when i was a kid, i would have never seen daylight let alone experience one hell of a time out of my house :). |

or none client, its an excuse, cough, I mean Reason for PR to contact media that needs copy, and to offer its readers possible free stuff gets attention. It is a win win situation marketing has been doing since before mariketing was born, business owners figured it out to sell product through advertising. Offer the paper a good enough reason to print the story, like readers getting a chance to recieve cool stuff for just reading their column. type of cooperative advertising aka co-op advertising. |

They have huge advantage using "Star Trek"'s name, get that game up to speed before spreading your selfs too thin. OR, tie up all that could be great and sell them. |

PlanetSide: Planetside Re-Review
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 5/18/10 7:19:25 PM
When I played after its release for a while the weapons were inacurate enough to force what could have been a battle taking advantage of the huge open space maps into a battle so up close to the enemy your team mates ran in front of you causing negative exp penalty. The Maps are huge and the gameplay is Nothing like a real FPS. Weapons should be accurate and deadly. Complain about one shots killing you? Well don't run down the middle of the field. If the weapons played out like real FPS people would adjust accordingly. The huge maps which should be used for expansive long range battles are just a distance to run from one close quartered battle to another. |
