In fact I havnt played Darkfall or reached the level required to play pvp in Aion. I could be wrong but people go directly to this thread to see games are suggested for best pvp. Having to Vote in order to view the results will mess everything up. Results can not be accurate do to the fact everything listed has not been sampled by every voter. A poll should be constructed with an equation allowing the above circumstance to be considered. No big deal if you take that into consideration and read the posts under thread when using the information to decide to try something new for pvp. Eve was a life long game (great game ahead of its time when it came out). Is it still or did they dumb it down to attract the masses? thanks |

Who cares about the spelling, Thanks for the advice. Are their other zones non PVP worth going to at those levels and higher? I have the game but not enought time to play lately. Also, hope they dont nerf the chat channel, thats a good idea. I also use custom channels for checking damage stats. Didn't think of using as an early warning system. Thanks again. |

Champions Online: Five Most Needed Additions to Champions
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/16/09 9:06:50 PM
More open Missions? I play that game too damn much and always choose the populated server unless doing solo missions to avoid kill competing/stealing. I rarely see people doing the open missions. Unless it a time zone 12 hours difference from pst. But then again I end up playing then too. Early level is great the way it is. There is a learning curve but when people decide tonotice the reasoning behind stats, levels, powers and how they interact, Its all in their forums under powers and builds, they will blow thru the first 15 levels in a few days. I take that back. The first character should always go thru the tutorial, it takes an hour or two to level 5. Its the character creator that eats time once you discover all the details available. Team based stuff I cant comment on. PVP I Tried once in very beginning before I discovered there is a reason for the stats, levels, powers and how they interact and compliment each other when you read how and why. Havn't noticed the type pvp their is. Like capture the flag or other team based games other FPS games have. |

Star Trek Online: Important Aspects of the Franchise
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/14/09 4:35:43 PM
I am not a big fan of Star Trek, Its a great show but never had time. Just wonder if the other Star Trek games paid for licensing or rights if they used the actual characters, etc. We could not expect Cryptic to shell out that kind of dough but would expect it to be an insane game to play in order to keep the fans intersted. I just want something other than bows and arrows to shoot. CO does a good job their, but the whole spaceship and star trek theme should be outrageous with the talent they have. Yes CO has its bugs but they all do early on. The ones that dont, check out the size of their company and dev team. |

Curious here, Your not American? cool, then how many troops from your country are over their with us and supporting our cause by our side? Was going to put a poll here so we could guess but gotta go. |

I used to never gender bend ever. Used to try and make chars look as close to myself as possible. After a while seeing the really cool looking female characters I tried creating one. After that I thought why the hell would I want to follow a character around (since they are mostley all played in 3rd person) thats a guy when I could be watching a Tomb Raider look a like. Now I create them to look as close to my wife as possible with a few enhancements here and there :). Its like a movie, entertainment, kind of like an actor or actress your controlling throughout the scenes so who cares? China is a different story all together. Government into everything, controlling everything. Bet they have government health care too. |

Ryzom is a Great game with the best community of all mmo's I have played since the 80's when they were text. I try everyone that comes out looking good. Ryzom never marketed much that I know of. I just kept seeing it rated so high consistantly all the time. Even today it ties Guild Wars and Warhammer. Most games with higher ratings havent even come out yet. I havent played in a few years or so because I dont have time bouncing around the new ones since with lower ratings. How is Ryzom doing? Are the graphics any different at all since a few years ago? They were good then but things have changed. I know its not all about graphics Im just curious when new stuff comes out. One thing for sure. If anyone has problems running high graphics mmos and wants a mature very helpful, cool community, Ryzom is the way to go. |

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures: Update 5.6 Now Live!
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/27/09 10:31:22 PM
Its been so long since played others like wow, lotro, war and other popular ones but were those zoned? Just a question, not trying to compare greatness in games, just do not remember AoC's many zones and forget what games had loading screens when changing citys or not. Thinking that an mmo holding that many players in one giant zone/world must have some killer equiptment/servers behind it as well as very effecient code. The one im playing now is zoned big time and wish it were not. Thanks. |

Originally posted by Keogh Its only for 3 days. The game is very cool. Not the easiest click button mmo to play so not for everyone. They probably want to give people an opportunity to see how different it is. Its very challenging and requires some thought process when building characters. You can literally spend a whold day in the powerhouse trying all the different powers out and how they interact with each other when your high level and redo from scratch. Its a killer action game. No problem with populations either. Check out some of the utube action before you waste the download first cause it might be to crazy for some. |

And ya know WHAT? There is nothing wrong with it. I was hoping they would. Not using it and made a couple other chars instead (like the game was designed for). People should go play the games they like so much that give them free respec, retcons, rectal exames, etc. etc. Come on, Ya just want to level one charecter and abuse the retcon system to experience what you should be creating a new character for. There is endless information on site and in the char builder. Important to always read advanced descriptions of powers when building. SO, You leveled your char to the max. Retconing max leveled chars to experience new powers is a cheat and should be paid for. Your lucky they allow it. Hell your paying the price of a few drinks or half a movie to power level a char to max if you want. By the way, Retcon cryers are just as guilty as those who have others power level for them. Those who claim their power sucks most likely because it looked cool, was outside their base powergroup and nothing was buffing it. Example, Power buff that adds mass damage to elemental powers and its found in elect, fire set but munitions takes it. Well.... uh, Ya made a mistake. Ive made tons and never cried over it because its in the description when taking power. I would be embarassed crying over my mistakes like that. Come on Suck it up. Or the better solution - Please go play the game you like so much better that gives you all this. Please. Dont ask the devs to dumb down a good game. It needs a lot of polish but watching the stats and checking with forums will give you enough to build your character. |

Damn this game. I hope it sucks because I want to play it so bad but cant put CO down and have Arion to catch up on. Im sure it will be good and I will switch completely over. I think beta starts this week or so. I hope I was not invited even though I put in 100 apps for it haha. I hate making decisions. But it does look good. |

Oh well, I never got past 17 and it was the same old mmo grind I was hoping to avoid. I do hear its great past 20 and gets better and better. After Beta I bought the game and cant get myself to grind to even 7 yet (keep goin back to other mmo). Still playing pop a mole, weasle, bird, crab or what ever little animal is around. Ah and I picked Ranger too and I hear thats extra boring in begining. Did chanter before and was more exciting at lower levels. If I havent played all the betas I would be lovin the game. Just have to put in the time and do the grind. |

Like real life war fields when not careful. No big deal. People like it, play it and really like it. Cool for them. Their are so many mmos out and comming out now their is something for everyone. Damn, talk about competitive, I signed on to Quake 3 server for the hell of it before I deleted to make room on disk and shit man those hard core players who still play are insane. They can headshot in mid damn air while they are running. I guess thats what years of practice does. Thanks. |

PlanetSide: Smedley Enthuses over PlanetSide Sequel

I gave up PS after never seeing a battle more spread out than a melee fest because the weapons were so inaccurate everyone ran in front of ya so close to the enemy to with the inaccuarte weapons they caused negative damage not being able to avoid hitting own team. A true FPS shot where you pointed. I remember sitting perfectly still firin the rocket launcher and watching ammo veer off most the time. Yea there was a cone of fire but it rarely worked. Sniper rifle headshot never produced realistic damage. The game has vast amounts of empty space perfect for a tacticle battle but never used. Did any of that change? Did the weapons ever fire as accurate and doing same damage as other FPS games? My fault I over hyped the game for the 3 plus years I followed before it came out. Remember originally it was going to be in an escape from NY setting? That changed completely and the weapons were the real dissapointement. I hung out long enough to max a couple characters and add the expansion but too frustrating. Battlefield series, Rogue Spear games and swat blew it away. Even Face of Mankind weapons were better. |

Your fellow-guildies with experience since UO are human beings with opinions like everyone else. Incidentally, there are many long-time vets of the MMO genre, some going back to MUDs and earlier - here as well.. Guess what? They have opinions too. Coming to a forum and talking down the efforts of someone who's looking to put something out to the community so people have a more informed opinion - no matter how "qualified" you deem yourself to be - is rude, arrogant and, frankly, unnecessary. You've had your say, you've shared your second-hand point-of-view... So... how about you let everyone else think for themselves and make their own decisions, okay? Go be happy with your elite guild of super-qualified MMO gamers and enjoy whatever MMO you've deemed "worthy" of your oh-so-sophisticated tastes. Thanks.
Have to Agree with Mike. People play for different reasons, They all have opinions. Been playing since the muds from the 80's too. Noticed how forums have become more and more a vehicle to vent ones personal frustrations and just being angry in general. Gets to be nothing more than personal attacks towards other players rather than constructive comments regarding the game. Seems years ago the games where played by those who were mature enought to own a pc. Now every little kid has one. |
