pre-ordered from GAME : April 2011.

07.27.2011 code redeemed (thanks to the UK having their codes sent out days/weeks later than everyone else)

No email for me and only the one wave left (according to Twitter) I definately will not be pleased if I have to wait longer tbh.

On a nicer note, GAME mailed to say my game has been sent out today and should arrive Wednesday/Thursday (as to register the game/setup accounts when/where applicable prior to the 20th)

Just as an FYI, the Skirmish booster was delayed to December (at the earliest) due to many things; most notibly the amount of stress caused in the 4v4 :)

I myself am leaving for TOR coem December, but if I had stayed it wouldn't have been much longer.

Theres no ingame support, no ticket system, no ingame mods (this is full time volunteer or not) gold sellers and spammers are left unchecked, no marketplace just random spam in a small and very buggy trade chat tab, content is once per month in a giant patch, the patcher itself is incomplete and cannot do hotfixes only large updates once a month, far too fast levelling, unbalanced civ's, persians were rushed, etc.

All in all its an ok game to play for a few months, but after that with it lacking the above (which most online games have as standard, or at least should) your left wondering what to do at 40.

Thread bump and to quote your "before you inquire" link @ http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/12267/Before-You-Inquire.html - I know your likely to get alot of mails but stating a fast reply when over th span of 2 years of me asking via that form, there has been no reply (as per my OP as well)

So is anyone alive?

Been wondering for a while now why that game does not have a page on here?

I can safely say that I've asked twice via email (to which theres been no reply) and also had a developer (the quality assurance manager) ask twice as well, again no reply.

Is there something about that means it doesn't belong here, that I may have missed?

Lolz dictatorship?

Tylantia, from what I read on the Ryzom forums, CSR Lanti from old Jolt days stayed until his death in August 2010 - so it wasn't without Jolt care all the time.
My personal experiences are, of course, from Leanon, where we rather have the problem that we are running out of GMs because of mobbing from a handful of players. We have lost, I think, at least two since last year because of that, and the one still left from the times I joined the game as a player (approximately 5 - 6 years ago) was under heavy attack. What would you have done with that kind of players who doubt everything you do, who doubt every sort of input from the event team, who sabotage every step the player parliaments take? I don't know if you had any kind of similar experience back then, but if you had I would be very interested to learn how you handled this. As far as I'm concerned, I won't apply for CSR or GM even if they would pay me, really. But even as "just" a player, a few times I was close to taking a bow out of the game, although it's the only one in all those years I did enjoy.

Yeah Lanti and I went back years, very close friend and a shame at his passing away, really was.

I can however tell you 100% that if Jolt were still around they'd be none of the stuff going on today; we never had had any of it back then and anything that'd potentially be heading towards that area, would get squashed immediately :)

I think having a clear "chain of command", weekly meetings, use of security protected chat rooms (outside of CeB) etc helped us no end. We had specific people for specific tasks, but everyone had the basic training for day to day CSR volunteering. For example we could all and did most days, CSR every chance we got. Some of us like myself went on to not only do that but also man the public test server, get that running more smoothly (for patch testing and bug ironing etc) leading to a live events team constantly coming up with alot of roleplay stuff for everyone.

How it is atm from what people have said, you can see that there is no direction, control, heirarchy or even basic structure anymore. I noticed that instantly when I came back as Anuihlm over a year or so ago now. Complete 180 from back in the "olden days" hehe.

I do still hope that it somehow gets to carry on, but this CSR stuff has to change if its to even show a glimmer of hope now.

Tis a shame us ex-Jolt people aren't there anymore, might've been able to have changed this before it became a problem :(

I personally know quite a few of the CSR and its saddening to read this stuff, although a select few I can guarantee wouldn't be involved with anthing like this, and a few that alarm bells go off in my head instantly.

I quite like it tbh. Chat needs an overhaul and a moderator system in place to deal with the spamming.

But all in all I like it. :)

Mike what's your system specs, maybe we can help identify the issue(s) :)

In hopes that one day it goes back to it's former greatness of the Jolt/nevrax crew.

I'd be back if that happened tbh, sadly I can't see it. I too am very outspoken and it really is a case of "if your face fits" (this is from an internal viewpoint)

I by no means dislike anyone there, its just some seem to get ahead by pushing others aside and "brown nosing" so to speak; leaving honest (maybe too honest?) others like myself to just "deal with it".

Ryzom was my first MMO and I hope it does eventually get to where it should be, but things have always had to change and they just don't. Its sad really, we at the Jolt team (that once was) used to have so much drive in game, kept pushing the devs to go for more, now it just comes across as "we'll make do and hope something good happens" which just isn't going to.

I do hope you get things sorted Nazak as anything such as that should be dealt with professionally and incredibly quickly. If you can't trust support, then who can you trust? :)

I'm one of the Ex-Jolt lot and its disturbing to read things like this, it really is :(

As someone who does CS in games here and there I personally try to remember/have access to every issue old and new; but that might just be me trying to make sure I'm updated with everything :)

@ the OP, I too alwas look for good CS in the games I play, call it a pet peeve if you will, just something that also annoys me if they really just have no clue and/or take das to reply.

I'd personally love to get into CS with Bioware and such, but I would imagine they'll take a similar route to other more larger companies and go with onsite reps. This might ofc be a double edged blade with there being fewer people (needing to be on-site) as opposed to volunteers working off-site through Snr GM's and such.

Time will tell :)

Sith Inquisitor (Sorceror ADV. Class) for me, 100% healmachine.

Can you pick the wrong race ? Are there server balance issues ?
Does the race choice determine faction ?
Faction conflict..is there any player looting ?
If fighting ...can you choose to engage in faction fighting..and not ffa ?
How's crafting ? (deep....simple....meaningful ?? ) How many professions  in crafting/gathering ?
How's the community ?
No housing...right ?

#1 Correct. The Kami vs Karavan. The former being of a more "natural" standpoint to life and the latter being more "technological" towards life. Which is right in its beliefs is down to the players and how things pan out :)

- - - - - - - - - -

#2 Theres no right or wrong race, its down to personal taste and playstyle; what suits you best. i.e. if you love playing smaller characters you might want to try out the Tryker. Want some large, thin blue coloured people then head for the Zorai.

As for server balance issues, there are none. Each server is language specific and as its sandbox (completely open) theres no "needs more of <class name> etc. You can be and do whatever you like (within the game rules ofc)

- - - - - - - - - -

#3 Each race does have its initial "leanings" towards a certain faction (faction points apply here) however you can choose whichever of the 2 you desire; or just remain neutral to them both, entirely down to you.

- - - - - - - - - -

#4 No player looting whatsoever.

- - - - - - - - - -

#5 You decide wether to engage in combat yes. There are however certain parts of certain zones that if you tread into its area, you will be automatically tagged (arena type places, clearly marked)

- - - - - - - - - -

#6 Crafting is probably one of the best parts of the game (second only to spell/skill customisation) You can learn every single profession and every single blueprint/pattern/plan given enough time.

- - - - - - - - - -

#7 The Community, what there is left, (rememeber this game came out the same year as WoW and has had some serious troubles since then) is pretty darned great :)

- - - - - - - - - -

Tis the one single aspect that kept me there for as long as I was, sadly that wasn't enough for me in the end. Saying that though your highly unlikely to find anywhere else with such a "tight-nit" comnunity. Hell even veteran's create alts specifically for helping newer players, you wouldnt get that on many other MMO's.

- - - - - - - - - -

#8 There is player housing and guild housing, costs alot but the currency in Ryzom was made specifically eas to get (to fend off gold sellers and the like, getting money shouldn't be a chore in ones online life)

Hopefully thats some help to you Shadan. :)

Frito..........why create a thread about something we all knew months ago and haven't posted about in a while?....

Trolling is bad mkay?

Super! Now I worry about stats, specifically accuracy and such. Do we know of/have seen much regarding that?

As I wouldn't want to spec my AC for heal, yet in order to have fun and DPS (where healing doesn't appear necessary) only to find I can't hit anything :)

As long as I have something useful to do other than 1 button spam heal, I'll be happy.

I'm a healer in every MMO (whether I want to or not in most cases) So Inquisitor 100% healing will be for me via the AC.

I'm just hoping that it doesn't get too boring, too fast. One major complaint I had in WoW was literally standing there, pressing heal and repeating (which they thankfully changed a bit with better, more "free moving" fights) Judging by the PAX gameplay vids though, it seems a bit on the "stand still and range" side of things.

We'll see anyway, I'll still be buying it regardless :)

Info seems wrong though on several accounts. When looking at the quest category info, it looked like the decriptions were 'off' and untrue in some cases, but can't be bothered to look deeper into it for now.

Indeedy it does need an overhaul for content, but with the errors atm its just not do-able sadly :(

Took these sad individuals longer than I expected to start this scam crap...... when will they learn :)

There are some php errors atm on the site stopping editing/updating/etc; I did pass the info along but that was weeks ago now.

Not sure whats going on as I can't update it with these errors :( (requires backend access to sort it)

Sov sumed it up pretty well.

Via solo its VERY grindy, but as its a sandbox game its expected really. You create what you like with your spells, using the stats you prefer, get your gear made/bought and venture forth.

Grouping in any MMO has its advantages and guilds in Ryzom are always looking for new people, which you can reach incredibly easy via chat channels and such. Originally it had been planned/aimed at to have the game be very group orientated, but as the months went by and the playerbase dropped (company issues, funding etc) it became really a solo game/small group of friends one.

The thinking with the new 1-125 being free is to draw more people in, maybe that'll help you guys out at lower levels, building up a friends list etc. However like someone said in another thread, its not advertised really, which has always been the number#1 issue with Ryzom.

I'd have a go at it though momodig, it remains one of my favourite games ever when I was testing back in 2003 and always will be. :)
