P2W is a myth perpetuated by a vocal minority. 99.9% of all games that are labeled as p2w by this vocal minority are in fact "pay to faster" games.

What is really funny to me is pure pve games being called p2w.... lol

Furthermore buying maxed characters with max gear exists in EVERY game as no company can prevent 3rd party account or item sales, so by this fact every game in existence is P2W, because money buys a clear advantage, right?

So that makes it okay for game companies to design their games around legalized RMT? Where as you say, pay to skip content. Because said content has been designed around legalized RMT.

So a small % in older MMOs paid, risking their accounts(if the company did their job to actually ban them).

Now we should blindly accept that every new game offers pay to skip content? Is that what you are looking for in a game.

Personally I want my time spent in the game matter, I do not care if X player did it faster than me. But if you want to play a MMORPG and immerse yourself in it. What you do has to matter. Sure if you play it for two months max, you will not care if X player paid to skip content.

But have you noticed how most new MMOs have turned into a 1-2 month game for many of the consumers?

For the ones I have done that dance with, has been because simply you are allowed and encouraged to pay to skip content.

Which results in whatever you actually do in game, will compare to dollars. Shall I spend 20 bucks to sell that cash shop item to another player?  Has that player I just saw actually done that super hard content, or did he/she just buy it?

Is the time I spend in game worth it? Will a paying player bypass me just because he/she uses a wallet?

I think you need to ask yourself, as a player and hide your wallet. Do I want the time I spend in this game matter? Or do I want it and the game be designed around the developers RMT?

I can only speak for myself - I am older and at a point in my life where money is not so tight - I prefer games where I can throw a few bucks and speed up my progress.

To me time right now at this point in my life time is more valuable than money - so paying to progress faster is an ideal option.

I don't have 8 hours a day to spend playing a single game anymore - I play more games now than ever but I maximize the HELL out of my time via XP potions etc.

Spend 8 hours in game to get gold to unlock inventory slots or spend $5 and get it immediately - yeah I'm gonna spend $5

That's just me.

I much prefer "pay to faster" games as again it works for me - plus it feels good to spend more money on games when I know it helps the dev teams I like.

Of course I want my time in game spent to matter - I just don't want to waste it on mindless boring tedious crap that takes hours, give me ways to pay and reduce the tedium as much as possible and I'm happy.

Also the devs are happy - because they're getting more funds

It's a win-win

The only people that this bothers are subscription purists - who are a tiny minority.

P2Faster - yes please

Well that makes sense. Gamers are getting older. But I personally dont agree. I dont spend tons of time each day either. But I would want my time spent playing to matter more than my wallet.

I am not trying to tell how you spend your money, only how I want my game time to actually matter. Gladly some devs still agree on that(Camelot Unchained, looking forward to that).

Personally I do not feel rewarded for my time spent in most games anymore, because of the feature you like.

Sure I do not have the patience either anymore to grind as much as I used to in Guild Wars 1. But I had a great time doing that, getting that gladiator 7 rank with my friends.

I do see where your points are coming from. but I dont like the paths devs are taking these days. And if we keep putting up with it we will see PC games, wait we already did. Come out with time gated core features that can be bypassed by wallet.

I am all for a broader audience. but making every game fit that is not a good idea.

I bet this developer joined this forum back in 2009 carefully planning to post this thread, 6 years later.

I had no problems typing in my password the ten days I played this game.(Free trial)

Is it F2P?

Cash shop with RNG boxes?

Are cash shop items sell able to other players?

Equipment enchanting with huge grind to lure players into RNG gambling?

All I want to know. I have not done research so I am sorry if I come across as "negative" but those are my concerns.

Anyway, the trailer is either honest, which I hope it is since it does look a bit dated to me. Maybe I just dont like the art style.

As a player not really interested in the game due to the issue. You could maybe include a link?

Unless it really has not been fixed.

Edit: To add, they have previously added patch notes where they said it was, I will say improved on, because I do not remember what they said back then. And it was not "fixed for me".

I just want to ask if you decide to play a fun build with all those projectiles and multipliers, will I get out of sync every 10 seconds?

Really want to enjoy this game for what it is, but I really have not in the past due to the horrible lag(especially when playing in groups) you get when running builds with splitting projectiles etc.

The old argument I have seen to this is "go melee, it does not lag". That does not really do it for me personally. I like the game, the core concept, the absurd amount of players choosing their builds. But to me gameplay is key, and frequent out of sync is not doing it for me.

Damn, I would love to play this game offline/ coop online with no need for server side stuff. But then again, you got the issues of hacking and all that.

But if you only played with friends, then it would not matter.

You will no longer get out of sync with the server. The horrible desync bug that has plagued the game since launch has been fixed with this update. I have personally tested it on the beta servers and it is absolutely wonderful. That one change really makes the game worlds better, but the new and updated content is great as well. No reason not to give this a shot if you are a fan of the genre considering it is 100% free.

Can anyone confirm this?

For the part in red does it simply mean the problem has been moved to the client, or has it been fixed?

Are we now in sync with the server and not our own client?

The crafter class in Camelot Unchained might be a thing for you when it launches. Sadly its probably 1-2 years away from release.

Edit: And if you dont mind heavy P2W Archage probably is way to go. RNG boxes,RNG focused crafting.

9 lines of text patch notes when launching a new engine? And no info of what has changed at all?

I am confused, from posts here already, no textures has seemed to be changed, and from the nine lines of text in the patch notes. Nothing seems to have changed.

What does the new engine bring? Flowers?

I would say return on the 23rd, and play through the living world and the new zones.

On the 23rd the new trait system and condi overhaul comes.

You need world completion to make a legendary, if that is something you want to prepare for and with HoT you will be able to craft the precursor as well.

I do not see a reason not to return, unless you really dont enjoy what content there is at the moment.

condition builds aren't weak per se.. it's just that since you share the limit with others you become weaker if there are other condi builds in the mix. and then there's the insane amount of condi cleansing in pvp which makes it less than optimal.

Actually you became weaker with everyone attacking. While this change will certainly change the dynamic of the builds and while it will certainly change the meta of the game it's still not addressing the problem. You see everyone had access to conditions not just condition builds. So while this is an improvement they needed to take conditions remove the ability to have them unless people chose specifically condition builds in their makeup. The problem still exists but thye don't want to take the time to prevent Zerkers from havign conditions.

Except if you read the post. Conditions will do less damage when you have not invested points in it, and more than you deal today if you do.

I never played with lego.  My favorite plastic building blocks were of the unsafe choking hazard variety, though no one in my house was stupid enough to try and eat them.

Why have we never seen a freestyle building lego game?  The businessmen would ask why build a virtual game that could replace our real world product?

That's why all those supper lego rpgs were about destroying ready built structures and not freestyle building.

But what do I see in the video?  Use of something a kin to World Builder.  When I build in MC I fill my inventory with stone brick made from cobblestone, and I place each block.  I'm not saying that copy, paste, rotate, and extrude should be in game.  They just shouldn't be part of the main game mechanics.  If an art team wanted to build something off line, then buy an import licence from h cash shop, I would be happy with that.  Level design tools have no place in a freestyle building game, if that is what this game is intended to be.

Wut. Did you read your own words?

Anyway, it seems that it will have both.

No, I have not read into or looked at what Windows 10 offers.

So a friend of mine said, that he will never get Windows 10 because it has spyware and such built in the core system. That gathers information, what you like and not like, to sell ads and more.

Is this  a valid concern?

The fact you enjoy matches vs AI makes it pretty clear, the genre is not for you maybe?

Its a competitive genre, feeling are involved.

Would you abandon football if a supporter of the other team yelled bad words at you? Would you go to a newspaper and say how bad words this supporter said?

It is a competitive genre, feelings and rage is a part of it. If you cannot stomach some hate here and there, in the heat of the moment, I dont think you should even bother playing these kinds of games. Because it will happen over and over.

Can people be more polite and respectful? Yea sure, good luck making them though.

Why did you feed the angry player? Constructive feedback of any type rarely works. You should just ignore what players say when they get mad.

Tried that too much when I played League actively, and it always resulted in a worse situation than if you just ignore it.

If some one is negative, I am sure there is an ignore button no? Have not played HOTS, so dont know.

Also if you actually try to be nice to people, they will more often than not be nice back. Some one picket up a kill, and you saw it and was impressed or not, say "nice job!"

If someone fucked up and "fed", say "nice try, if he had a little less health, that would totally worked"

Feeding a upset player does nothing good, and then you blame that player that you got another negative reply from that player?

Guild Wars 1 is the game for you if you want build diversity.

Guild Wars 2 has way less of it, but overall better gameplay. 97% chance it will go on sale for 10 dollars before the expansion launches. (Keep an eye out)

Age Of Wushu has no level cap, player driven economy, and a "time spent skill proggression system"(like EvE) from the few videos I have seen on utube.

Camelot Unchained(not done, in alpha) will let you "craft skills" probably similar to PoE, but I guess in a more balanced way.

Overall if you dont mind a bit clunky gameplay, want to play mostly alone, GW1 has a ton to offer. Still a small community active, but probably that noob friendly. It is unique in the way that you add NPCs to your party. The later expansions added heroes, which lets you customize the "Heroes" build as well. You can have 3 heroes or 7 if you buy a DLC.

It is pretty simple looking and will run on any toaster.

  • It is skill based
  • No P2W
  • Your character progresses over time.

Oh, and I forgot its a pure PvP game with a small portion PvE.

And it is totally free.

Its a great game. But you will get bored of doing the same over and over. Them you go for the season events. then you realize 3 months of effort will just be obsolete, unless you really are hardcore.

Then it is the lagg and desync. Sure you can bypass the desync by playing a boring build.

But the reason the game shines is because you can do whatever the fuck you want, and that results in desync and lagg because of too much projectiles etc.

Would love an offline mode of this game, with multiplayer.

Is it pay to progress faster/skip progression? I want to play a MMORPG to feel rewarded, not comparing my time spent in game to the money in my wallet.

Thanks.
