I think unless you like "working" for your guild the game might become a bit pointless if you don't enjoy pvp. I guess it's a bit like soloing in eve. People do it and enjoy it...I have no idea why or how though :)

What do you mean by "working"?

This game revolves around open world player versus player doesn't it?

Working as in gathering, farming and supplying your guild instead of participating in the PvP I would imagine.

I have no idea how this will affect me personally, probably not that much since I have fiber connection and all. But it will affect what content, games and all in between that I can access/will succeed and of course niche or up and coming sites/companies.

Letting this pass will let big companies if they are not too dominant already, be able to strangle up and coming companies and pretty much strangle their competition. Who knows what will happen behind closed doors, as if it dont already. With this passing it will just get worse and worse.

I know this is not directly game related but I will just paste this link here to show your support of changing FCCs mind.

Has nothing to do with net neutrality; you're still getting your service from one of the biggies. This would put a stranglehold on us all if the providers get their way.

I do not live in the US so I do not know about that. Although companies in the US might have limited speed and has to stranglehold their customers.

So yes, my connection may not matter if the provider they are connected to decides to fuck them. That is why I am even worried about this.

Who knows what will happen, it will certainly happen slowly. With a lot of excuses and biased graphs showing how this is "necessary".

Came across this article yesterday.  I checked to see if anyone has posted about this.  Couldn't find anything.  So anyways, here is the link.  Discuss!

P.S. I'll be picking it up for sure.

Destiny - launching with 4 maps. Yeah, each planet has a single playable map, very sneaky of Bungie to do that.

Do you have a source? I briefly looked at the "Google Destiny" thing and thought it was just not showing all of the maps.

My expectations of how open and big the game would be have dropped quite a bit since the first info on the game.

I will probably pick it up for PC if it does come to PC, have not played an FPS in a very long time so it will be some fresh experience at least, be it big or small.

I had some fun leveling and played for maybe a month and a half, I paid my first month with in game money and still have 2 months more available for free.

Although I dont  feel like playing more. Might be me, might be the game.

GW2 sure kept me interested longer than WS, although I have to say the combat in WS is better.

The PvP is also better, and the option of playing on a PvP server was fun as well.

But when I got to max level I did not really feel implied to keep playing. I leveled a second character to around 40 and thats where I stopped I think.

The PvE in the game is exceptional while you're character is still progressing.

Probably the best leveling experience I've had in any game.

But unlike other MMOs were the experience slowly deteriorates at end game, GW2 stops abruptly.

One day it will hit you like a bag of rocks. Then you'll never look at the game in a positive light again.

I have statedtime after  time ever since long before release, the gameneeds a horizontal character progression system. At max level..

yet, there is still a lot to progress when you hit max level....

- personal stories

- dungeon progression

- fractals of the mist progression

- worldcompletion

- heroic weapon

- sPvP progession

- titltes

- personal story..

the only thing missing is characterprogression, which is their main problem, if they add horizontall progression, which would give access to more skills, traist, weapons and suchto choose from, then i guess everyone would be very very happy..

You forgot the gem store, most updated thing in the game. With most of the weapon and armor skins.

Weapons are locked bhind random number generators. Which you do have to pay gold/gems for.

It is always your own fault one way or another.
Are we talking GW2 down scaling not being there/ one hit lower "level" mobs / or everything in the game is at the same power level to an degree and you only gain new types of attacks rather than power?

is this an MMO?

Shortly after the 3 minute mark he adds in "it is not an mmo". It is also for consoles only and maybe for PC in the distant future.

Its for PS4 and PC

Is it for PC as in for PC, or for PC in 4 months after the console version.

But how much of that is actual interesting?

+1 You can customize a wooden chair more times than that. Be it a little cut with a knife here and there.

Sounds interesting though, procedural content and sandbox/player made content is the future, so I am glad we will see some of it soon. Does this come for PC?

Ah nevermind, saw the comment above PC port, will most likely be one of them bad ports, since it is a small studio. Hell, even so called triple A studios cant supply simple requests like hosting own servers. Looking at you CoD, and some of the newer BF games. Not that I still buy them since they are just rehashed versions of the previous one.

So bought the game today, been running around for a few hours maybe I walked  the wrong way somewhere. But I need someone to hold my hand. Or at least point me in the direction of what I should be doing here. A sort of video guide that you know of would be appreciated, read a few, but I am more interested in a more noob friendly guide.

TL;DR Have not really read much about the game but bought it and now confused what to do! :P

I cant get my words together to make an answer for that, other than it is totally right of MMO CEOs to design MMOs around RMT to reach more customers. MMOs are about progression not paying to catch up as it has been turned into.

Should FPS games start selling aim bots since the "Working Joe" does not have enough time to practice his aim?

Every recent MMO has this cancer of a feature. GW2, Wildstar, EvE, Tera, Arch Age ugh, I am sure there are more but I cannot think of them. All these games have some way to make your money in your wallet into in game gold. I strongly believe this is totally wrong and pay to skip content/get ahead. And also it makes the developers to design the whole loot system in the game around it. Who would buy in game gold if you made enough just playing right?

So why do we accept this cancer in a genre that is supposed to be about progression? I have been sucked into it from time to time, and then started to ask the questions why and how this affects actual player experience. All the MMOs I have played with this awesome feature has felt very shallow and intentionally gimped loot. rewards and daily limits. The MMO i want to play I want to feel like what I do matters and there should not be systems designed by the advice of some economic where the goal is to make as much money as possible.

You can only go so far with such systems, and it has been shown that the line, is where all of these developers go. As far as they can.

So why do we accept these so called features that I call cancer. Why do you play an MMO if you can just pay to skip time. Would you pay to skip ahead in Skyrim?

Would you pay to skip levels in Mass Effect? No you would not because you care about the story, and in MMOs the progression is the main part, be it farming for that next gear piece or for enough money to enchant or upgrade something.

To do this you normally have to do some sort of grind, be it varied or not. In the end it is all grind to achieve goal X whether you have fun or not doing so. Grinding can be fun and it can be no so fun. So now we can semi grind mediocre content and pay for the rest.

I probably sound biased and I am, but when a game asks you for real money to get in game money, especially in an MMO you should ask yourself if you will be playing it for longer than the next MMO launches.

Why do we keep playing these MMOs that design their content around RMT via a "legit" feature?

I probably do not, but I for sure watch more on Netflix and about the same amount of Youtube and TV over a week.

My reason for making this topic is not to find out whether or not you watch what. But I am more curious how you find new stuff to watch at Youtube, gaming related. I have a handful of favorite channels I got on my sub list, and I never really go beyond any of them. I watch the videos that seem interesting in my sub list and that is pretty much it.

Whenever a suggestion for me pops up I instantly say to myself, no thank you.

So I am interested in how you find new channels to follow or do you at all?

Having taken pictures of pretty much any road in the world. Do you think Google will do something with this that will be interactive?

With the VR headsets coming and all. Do you think/would you want some sort of "VR real World" to explore? Although they have taken all these pictures and all I guess it would require some sci fi level of software to render it. As the pictures themselves does not cut it for a interactive experience.

Just a fun idea I have thought about years ago, how cool would it be to play a game where the real world is the playing field. I guess it is more feasible we will have VR headsets with camera and rendering stuff over the live footage. Then we could walk in public looking crazy.

Joining a guild is a must in AA. Gettting a stable group of players to become friends. At least AA has this at its core unlike all other MMOs recently.

From what I have played, I feel this is the first online massive game focusing on  the community and interaction between players.

I have done more socializing in AA than any other MMO I have played last few years. I just hope there will be enough incentive and community to keep playing for years.

I guess it all comes down to how much effort you put down yourself. This game might make me try make my own guild for a change.

Who knows how will it will turn out. I am optimistic but slightly worried.

It's definitely NOT going to be f2p, we've seen too many games riddled with microstransactions offering advantages and making the game pay to win.  We will not be doing this.

So it will not have a cash shop?

Every time I tried to make a NCSOFT account for Wildstar beta it was down/laggy/not working.

Just got myself an LG G3 and recently I have restarted GW1. So I am wondering if this will/how to run old actual PC games?

I have heard tablets can run them so, I am just curious what I can do with my new smartphone :P
