Aion: NCsoft Responds to Player Shop AFKers
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/25/09 4:02:07 PM
More than happy to dl this newest patch for this change. Hopefully they'll be able to lift the timer soon enough once the servers balance themselves out. |

I'm actually surprised that Dana didn't mention this one. FFXIV came out of nowhere and it's going to be released next year, and I think it's a brilliant move. Less wait, less dragged-out hype. |

Children who are spanked have lower IQs

I'd be more likely to believe that for a lot of people, their brains are in their asses. Then spanking would affect them. |

I find it ironic that he probably just barely burned off the calories of the energy drink he downed. Hard to burn off calories if you have to consume calories just to work up the energy to burn off what you consumed. |

It's been several hours and still no edit... even if it is an interesting article, it doesn't matter as I couldn't stand to read more than a line or two. |

I pulled out the laser pointer when I realized that one of my cats was hyper. Then proceeded to make him do figure eights chasing after it for a few minutes. Pets: always ready to make you smile (or wake you up at 5 am with a nose in your face because they want food). |

Originally posted by blackthornn yeah, much better for everyone to get fed up with bullshit and quit during the first month leaving servers at a third capacity at most.
Actually it is better. If people leave, then they leave. But merging servers affects those who remain, the people who are actually interested in sticking with a game. Subscribers past the first month > nerdrage quitting players. |

Half a glass every weekday morning with breakfast, and a full glass on weekends (because I have more time to drink it without gulping it down). |

I want to definitely second this. While the queues do suck, the last thing I want to see a few months down the line are server mergers and servers where the population dwindles. |

Basically what I figured... they were trying to spread people out. I just wish they had posted about this on their website sooner. No question/comment on the afk-shops though... it'd be nice to know if they plan on doing anything about them or will wait to see if the problems persist. |

Still, 8 per server is rather limiting. People might find a class they like, but end up playing with different friends. Or someone may just stop liking a server, but not want to delete their character. I think a few more slots would be nice. |

If your spouse committed a serious crime...
Off-Topic Discussion « General Discussion 9/21/09 10:13:24 AM
It would depend on the crime. If my husband went all Dexter on guilty criminals, I wouldn't tell anyone. Accidents I would encourage him to talk to the police about. Outright brutal crimes on innocent people, on the other hand, would not fly. |

Thanks MMORPG for purposefully being misleading with the title and intro. I was hoping to read someone elses experience during the first day of head start that didn't involve countless angry raging forum posts. But instead you post yet another "first impressions" of Aion that were from the beta. |

I managed to get two names I wanted, War and Agony. I should've tried for something like Legolas just to deny people it... |

Originally posted by Hrothmund I have to agree. What worries me is how they will deal with the hackers and gold farmers now.
The truth about gameguard though is that it DOESN'T keep the hackers and gold farmers out. Maybe it works against the kid who wanted to make a few extra bucks on the side selling currency, but the larger companies know how to work around GameGuard and have done so since this poor excuse of a program started lying about how effective it is. |

I'm glad they dropped it. I've had trouble running games in the past because of it, and while I haven't had any problems with Aion, I know a lot of other people have. |

Actually, it's these little things called international laws and the fact that companies generally don't own world-wide rights to a lot of the games they produce or release. {mod edit} |

1. Love the image :) 2. It's really sad that the courts protect stupidity. Never mind the fact that some of these companies have been using the technology LONG before some moron let them copyright this. Hey, has anyone copyrighted "dining out in an established facility" yet? Because you could make a killing there... |
