EQII has support forums but I never saw the use of it, there are so many questions and complains for the devs it's almost impossible to filter the ones that make sense out of it. And the wow forums... well I've tried it once or twice but the fastest way to get to the devs in wow is by making a ticket.

I've always like playing the pet classes in mmorpg's so I wondered about the pet classes in Vanguard, when reading from the official site it seems like necromancer is the only pet class. Can anyone already playing give me some info on this? And are the pets/minions permanent? or are they sort of summoned for a certain amount of time?

Originally posted by FikusOfAhaziWell that is my point, I'm here to read info about the game, how people experience it and reading facts about the game, while doing I became annoyed by the negative posts without arguments of the person I've quoted, I agree its not the best thing to do quoting such a post and decreasing the overall quality of the thread. I just was a bit too annoyed to be reasonable there :) As for myself I havent decided yet whether to buy this game or not, just gathering info here (and on some other sources on the internet) Oh and btw, just relativize "get a life" |

A pity the game isnt what you hoped it would be at launch but please get a life and stop posting the repeative mindless negative posts in this forums. We had a good laugh at your expense when you linked the page with the "in your eyes" proof SOE "made" the game, but now you're growing tiresome. |

Originally posted by malefacusI haven't played Vanguard yet, (I probably will give it a try though, been checking on the development of the game since somewhere around june now) so I cant tell much about the enviroments or game play, but I've played most (if not all) of the mmorpg's that came out the last few years and based on the features vanguard should be the game which has it all. (housing, crafting etc) Wow is like said before a good mmorpg for starters, but eventually you might end up feeling this game is limited (no housing, a very limited crafting system) on the other hand it's a very polished game, not many bugs and animations & graphics are all very nicely done. EQ2 has housing and imho a crafting system that really makes crafting fun, making your own furniture for your house etc. Probably because this game is much more complex than wow its less "polished" so sometimes animations are a bit clumsy for instance. (like the animations for jumping in shapeshifted form for fury's) Just pointing out these games because they are the games I enjoyed most, and I think they are perfect for starters. |

Originally posted by StellosYup I fully agree on this, I really hope that vanguard will be the game Ive been waiting for, I've been following the development for almost a year now. But if I look at the posts regarding the beta, I'm beginning to fear the worst. |

Before soe was involved with vanguard soh my expectations were high about the game, I just hope (now that soe is involved with the game) they wont have a lot of influence on the game, because I've tried 2 other games soe was involved with swg and EQII and both games were a disapointment, especially EQII. (somehow the promises and actual game didnt match.. I even felt tricked into buying the game by the fancy website that showed all that the game was not thus making me dislike soe) I just cross my fingers and hope for the best for vanguard...

If they would fix the appearance bugs instead of adding new content all the time with new flaws I would immediatly resubscibe to this game. Atm, I can't help but feeling like the new content will have the same flaws as the old content had and those flaws were the reason I stopped my subscription. It's such a pity because EQII could a really nice game, it has a lot of potential, but when I play it I feel like it was made in a hurry or without care. The armor peices dont have much variety, but I heard they are worjing on that to fix it, but I havent seen anything yet. Second part that really bothered me were the mounts, in the current stat I would rather have no mounts then the way they move now, motions are unrealistic. Jumping a mount or shapeshift results in some sort of bouncing. This info is based on when I played EQII like 2-3 months ago, I unsubscribed and have been checking the EQII site ever since (whenver stuff like this gets fixed Im going to get back into game)
But in short terms, I hope that Echoes of Faydwer will fix some previous flaws (especially graphical) in the game, but I'm afraid it will only add new content and thus trying to hide the reason why a lot of people dislike the game. (I really can't imagine EQII is less populair because lack of content because I think it has already more content in its current state than most other mmorpgs) |

Dark Age of Camelot: Labyrinth of the Minotaur Q&A
News Discussion « General Discussion 8/22/06 11:47:17 AM
Well imo wow is much more limited then daoc (no housing, less races & classes etc just a mmorpg for starters and a decent one) and beside that wow is entirely drawn in comic style while daoc is more realistic. I would rather say WAR and wow are related but not daoc and wow (at least graphically). Before reading the interview I knew there wouldnt be too much info in it, I already knew all the meaty parts of info would be served at the Las Vegas roundtable, so no suprise there. (It only seems fair to tell the most dedicated people to a game the first info imo) I just hope there will be some engine improvements in the expansion, the graphics of DAOC are very nice in general, but when playing the game this game still feels sort of clumsy (traveling on horse back or boat for example, it moves in straight lines and the animation is far from smooth) |

Totally agree on this one (Also played a lot of (A)D&D games over the past years) edit: Although I like the idea of getting a mmorpg game based on LOTR (red the books seen the movies both several times) I'm a afraid turbine is not up to the job of making this game a pleasant one for me, this opnion is totally based on my experience with ddo, since I never played AC or AC2. But I still hope for the best |
