I got to play for the first time for the RVR Weekend. I found the Combat Slow. other than that and a few minor glitches. The game is Good. Not full of bugs like Vanguard or AOC but not close to polished as WOW.

Time will tell, I think its off to a Great Start. With the amount of people complaining about slow combat, I don't see it staying that way. Other than the slow Combat I realy like the Game. Every game requires  a little polish.

I will be there at launch enjoying the Game.

The fact is when WAR comes out there will be a lot of people trying it out. Those people have to come from somewhere. Some of them will be people new to the MMO genre - like WoW, WAR builds on a license that has a lot of none traditional MMO playing fans. But that will be only a fraction of players who will try out WAR.

 

A large junk will come from WoW, Lord of the Rings Online and Vanguard. How many players from AoC will try out WAR remains to be seen - it depends on how quickly Funcom can fix current issues and ensure all functionality is in and working - meaning: how hard Funcom will work to keep it's playerbase.

I'm 100% posative that some disgruntal players of AoC have come over to give it a Go. but to tell the truth, Its the same game that everyone left over a year and a half ago. it has 4 servers? and when I look them up onm the vangaurd forums it says the average player is Lvl 10.

I personaly, If I was to quit AoC, and willing to downgrade to an Older Game, It would be WoW or EQ2. Games that got their S*** Together. IMO.

I enjoy the game But it does have alot of bugs to work out.

I know for a fact that there are a ton of gamers that Dont Use it. Majority of the People in our Guild didnt know a thing about it.

People who play alot of FPS seem to know about it but people who play MMORPG's usualy have no need for it

More than half the time Im playing on AoC, I turn off X-fire due to people bugging me while I play.

So I would put no stock in that number.

I'm not a DEV. I could't say whats next.

I give all games a Chance. I even played Vanguard for 3-4 months, Not even at Lounch, It was 6 months after Launch.

I hope they fix the Issues, But if not... I'll move on, maybe to Warhammer. Who Knows. It's Not like there is a lack of things to play.

I am NOT a AOC Fanboi. I know there are Issues. I choose to give them time to fix it instead of Bashing it.

If after 3 months they still have the Issues I too will leave.

How do you know they are not working on a Major patch. They could be working on it now. and fixing little things on the way. Who's to say? I don't work for them. I choose to wait and see instead of bitching.

Want things fixed? Send the Techs an E-Mail stateing the Issues. I'm sure they are working on the game and not searching other forums to see.

If your here to set things Striaght, {like you are all Knowing} It took WOW a month just to fix a Looting issue where people were Freezing up. A MONTH.  and if you were all knowing you would be Saying NEVER buy a MMORPG at Launch and NOT expect problems.

When I quit a Game I don't feel a need to bitch about WHY i'm quiting. I vote with my money.

But If this game hasnt fixed Major issues in 3 months, I will come back to this thread and tell everyone that I'm leaving because its still bugged and put it in a box in my basement with that dead horse Vangaurd and let the dust bunnies play it

But I choose to wait to see if they fix things.

Well you are clearly the retarded one here lol.

1. I do not work for SOE, nor do I play Vanguard (too bugged still, character customisation / animation still a joke).

2. I did not compare Vanguard with AoC. Altho AoC's current state isn't far off to be honest.

3. They are out more then a month yes. 2 patches a week yes. 2 patches a week that has broken more last month then actually fixing anything.

4. Many Stats, skills, feats still not working!!

5. Crafting still broken and horrible tedious. Now they broke Alchemy with last patch, making players crash lol.

6. PVP Sieges is a joke. Now players cant even build T3 buildings anymore (appearently deactivated so they have more time to fix this mess).

7. PVP in Borderlands doesn't even work on PVE servers! A month later still not fixed!

8. Funcom's way of dealing with performance issues is giving you more options to deactivate stuff and cutting view distance in PVP zones. Instead they try to fix their darn game engine.

9. More then a month later still a lot of disconnects in several zones, especially Fields of the Death or by zoning in general.

10. More then a month later they had to turn on some kind of debugger that freezes you frequently ingame due to error reports being generated and send in background! And don't tell me about the crashes starting to happen to me 2 patches ago. (wich is main reason I hit the CANCEL button)

11. Lot of quests mid and high level zones still bugged. With last couple patches they even managed to break more in Noble District.

12. After level60 it's GRIND, GRIND, GRIND to level80!

13. Itemisation is non-existent. So the only RPG feel and achievement you get is seeing your levelnumber going up. See point 4 why.

Seriously. The only thing that works atm is killing mobs and doing quests. Even a lot of dungeons are still horribly bugged more then a month later!

This game is a joke atm. As even the Core game is still horribly broken more then a month later!

Minor issues? LOL! Give me a break.

I rather have frequent server crashes the first 2-4 weeks, but that at least the Core Game is working, then Age of Conan in it's current state!

Because, what's the use of having stable servers if the Core Game itself is broken? lol.

I said the Game is NEW and they are working on isues. And the way you defend Chaosngn sure looks like you 2 are in the same boat.

New MMORPG's all have issues at launch. I don't care what game you are talking about. Its how they fix them that counts. The Game has been out for a little more than a Month. It takes at LEAST 3 months to work out the bugs. And thats ALL MMORPG's.If people are this critical of games, you should NEVER buy a new MMORPG at launch.

You lost all your credibility with your last sentence about opening up new servers. As far as I know they only opened new servers on the 23rd of May official launch and in the couple days after. Since then no new servers haven't been opened anymore.

So who is a fanboi now huh! lol

The Point is. Additional servers had to be open.  The game has been out for a little over a Month. Like thats alot of time. Get real. 1 month and 2 days ago. WOW...so Long.

I thought About Preordering it, But not knowing if there is going to be or what is the Monthly fee. I will wait. I have been Beta testing for quite some time {And NO it is NOTHING like WOW}

If its Like Guild Wars, { No Monthly Fee } I will Buy it

If there is A fee..... I can't see paying monthly for this.

 I had high hope for this game

I look at it this way. Every OS that comes out, People complain that it isn’t what it's supposed to be. You can’t please every one. People talk about bugs with Vista, I don’t see them unless I try to run an out dated program that should be updated any way. I like Vista, I have no Issues with it even though all the bells and whistles aren’t working yet. I am a person who likes to move forward and enjoy the Changes. Some good Some Bad.

I am Old school from the days of DOS. And when 95 came out. I heard the same thing and with 98, ME, XP. It’s the same thing over and Over.

So. If you enjoy Vista, Great, if you Don't, That’s fine too, Enjoy your XP.
