i have a GTX 280, phenom II x4 965, 8 gbs ram - gskill ripjaws (8-8-8-24), and asrock extreme3 mobo *almost exactly your setup* and i can run most games on max (tor, eve, lotro, etc - sorry never played rift) and lowest i ever get is about 40 fps....even with AA on....so not sure whats up.  Single player games like bad company 2, mass effect 2. oblivion (heavily modded), bioshock 2 (the current single player games i am playing) all on max, everything cranked...never falls below 60 fps.

Actually that wasn't a raid at all...

Operations = raids

Flashpoints = group dungeons.

So that aren't exactly the same thing.

Well he/she referred to raiding, thats why I said it.

well i never really done many raids, last one was crushboine keep in eq2 :P I dont have alot of experience raiding since i mainly played swg and eve, but whatever it was, was alot of fun :D

as stated above, you want your companion....the thing i found out though while playing the game is that the companion AI is fairly well done. they arent overly retarded and can function on their own, so little management is required. i dunno about group play, since once the group fills up they automatically get put away, and there are no companions in the warzones. i havent been to an open pvp world yet to comment.

It is not about being mature as a society.  Some can stomach it others cannot.  There will always be those who agree with your preferences and those who do not as with everything else.  In the end there should be no romance in a MMO outside otf the erp or whatever that folks decide to rp.  Stupid idea by BW to include it.

I remember on the drive home once listening to Sean Hannity (he is a bit loopy so i listen for the giggles) went on about a 20 minute tirade about Mass Effect and morality.

I dont blame them for not allowing gay relationships in game. We arent mature enough to handle it as a society yet.

Based on internet MMO forums where serious business happens? It's not really going to matter once you're in game because there's always a healthy population of douchebags in every MMO.

this is true....but since i read these forums and others i get a bit disheartened by the idiocey from both sides, but the GW2 fans seem to really get under my skin lately

i love when people dont think before posting inane subjects. You think taking a fireball to the chest, or bullet, or sword, or lightsaber and insta killing you would be fun? Ummm.....no. There would be no point. By that logic one AOE would spell death for your entire party with the bad guys just humming along like a gnat just whizzed by, or any stray bullet fire in a game would cause you to be shot , wounded and/or dead without the ability to fight back.

you sit there, dead, watching your team mates each falling one at a time to a stray laser bolt. Noone can progress through any random board or mob because you all die from the magic missile aimed at you.

Yeah sounds like a heap load of fun...........

No, because the game was so freakin' scary I blocked it out of my mind.  I'm assuming others must have done the same.  That game almost made me literally wet myself.  If I let my mind dwell on it too long....it will give me nightmares tonight.  Great game, should definitely be on this list, but I don't want to talk about it anymore.

i love the hypocrisy of the site and GW2 fans. (I am planning on buying both so i couldnt care less if you label me a fanboi of either game).

You lock the other "Why i am not excited for GW2" thread but this one remains a site authorized opinion column. And GW2 fans are eager to jump in this thread and agree with the OP of this thread, but god forbid you try to criticize GW2, they attack you like a pack of ravenous hyenas.

Personally i think this fued is folly and stupid, both sides take it way to far.

havent played in like a year, but landroval was awesome in terms of player run events and player interaction

no game has more meaningful pvp and bigger sandbox than that of EVE, though its not for everyone.

they are getting rid of gold farmers by making the players into the gold farmers. Congrats...you just became a blizzard employee by buying the game.

join a noob friendly corp like EVE University, it helps

EVE online is a perfect example of why this would never work. You have alliance funds, corp funds, personal funds, funds people use to play the market, funds used to buy ships and modules, and you need different ships and fittings for different situations. Imagine a hard cap on these items. THe economy, game, alliance would crumble. Personal fun would deteriorate "My carrier just got blown up, but because i could not have more than 1 billion isk, i am going to have to grind it all back up so i can afford another ship". Or "sorry guys, we can pay for sov this week cause some idiot bought a titan, and our cap was lowered due to it"

This idea is just horrid, especially if the game has a true player driven economy.
