Already talked on reddit in a lengthy post: http://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/1xdny0/bow_animations/

How do you guys like the bow animations?

I love archers pretty much in any game after the typical assassin-type. Archery was superior fun and effective in Skyrim as we have all seen it.

But what are these animations in TESO? They look rather underwhelming to say the least. The feeling to it is also rather meager, it doesnt really feel like pulling the string and shooting an arrow has real impact to it. Sure they added a little screen-shake when you stealth crit an opponent but that does not reduce the clunky feel to the bow.

Aside from all other weapons, in my opinion the Bow needs to be addressed as soon as possible and it's animation needs to be fixed.

Animations dont bother me. After a couple of days of gameplay i barely notice animations any more. Gameplay is much more important, since that is more of a long term factor for me.

And the game has extreme scaling from low to high graphical settings, I think a potato could run it (including consoles! joke)

The question is not if I will be able to run it, I am well aware that almost every computer can run it on low. My concern is if I will be able to run it on the highest settings, just like I have been doing in the PVE part of the game :)

At this point, it's hard to tell since there havesn't really been "mass" pvp, beta was a closed beta for a limited time, so not a whole lot of the population made it into the pvp area. I would say judging by your specs, you should handle medium very well, and possibly high settings. But again, its beta... so there are still optimizations to run and debugging software running in the beta client, so a better measuring tool would be closer to launch or open beta.

You know, most of the press reviewers are taking the same route, from negative to positif. It's starting to sound fishy, or they're just too stupid to mindlessly bash the game on their first review.

No, most press outlets were accurate; unlike this post. What's this 'review'? The press didn't 'Review' ESO yet as half of ESO is still under NDA. /Facepalm

The beginning of ESO (which was the non-NDA) is considered awful so that was their first impression.

Once you get going after several hours, apparently it is getting better.

Blame the devs for having such an attrociously bad starting zone.

Yeah, I know those are more like first impressions/previews, but it seems that people on this site are keep generalizing them and calling them reviews. No idea why, tbh. Reviews are the full game experience after the game released in April.

AJ did name his videos : Beta  Review and PVP review.

Weird, are we watching the same videos?

All I read is "Impressions" on the titles

He can name it whatever the frack he wants. He could call it "Finite word of God the Lord".

Freedom of speech. Ever heard?

you keep throwing this out...but message boards are private and you have to adhere to their rules and regulations. Freedom of speech does not apply on mmorpg.com nor youtube...

Some people always seem to say this, they just don't seem to understand that "freedom of speech" only exists in certain countries and even then only in certain places.  It certainly doesn't exist anywhere on the internet at all, all these websites belong to someone and the rights you have are the rights they allow you to have.

Exactly. Glad someone else understands this. AJ is entitled to his opinion, as is anyone else. I just get tired of the whole freedom of speech nonsense people throw out there.

I think the racial bonuses are so small that it doesn't matter which race you choose.  Your chosen weapon and armor might matter more.  In addition, the abilities take up a hotbar slot, which you might want to use for something else.

I also think regeneration might not matter much.  If it is anything like other MMOs' regeneration, the amount is not even close to noticeable in a short fight, and is easily overshadowed by abilities in a longer fight.

The experience gain bonuses won't matter after you have leveled up, so I would ignore those when choosing a race to fill a certain role.

The racial passives don't take up a hot bar slot...do they?

No they do not

huh? morrowind and skyrim factions - what?

Sorry but no i dont agree with you. There are no game breaking exclusive items in the collectors edition. A horse for 2k instead of 17k? A race which can be in any alliance that shows no significant advantage over any other race?

Your entire rant makes no sense...and some of us, a large majority of people who grew up with sub based mmos find no problem with paying 15 bucks a month. I rather pay and know what i am getting up front then to be milked with cash shops in f2p models.

I see nothing worng with what they offer, and is in fact, alot less than what most games include (game wise) then most other exclusive offers from other mmos.

I've been playing MMO's since Everquest in 1999.  I understand subscription based models, far before any "cash shops" were involved.  The problem is, you are someone willing to pre-order this game without any hesitation, thus the pre-order exclusive belongs to you.  Were you to wait until the game launches before purchasing, like MANY, MANY individuals do, you basically "lose out" on this exclusive.  You WILL undoubtedly be able to purchase it after the fact, but because you weren't just automatically willing to throw your money down on the table before seeing how the game reviews look, you end up paying more for these items after the fact.  So what you're saying is if you aren't willing to pony up and put your money down before seeing a finished product, tough shit for you?  What kind of lunacy is that, it's bad economic decisions like this that have put America in the rut that it is in today.

Also, you're basically saying at the end of your post that it's good enough for you because other games have done worse.  This is the type of behavior that will encourage developers to keep screwing it's players over.

Oh and yeah, it is a game breaking exclusive.  Breaking the race/faction combination the developers initially based the game off of is one of the most game breaking ideas I have ever heard in my life.  The factions are completely POINTLESS beyond having a flag over your head in PvP.  There can no longer be lore to support the factions, as the factions no longer make any sense.  The idea that makes the most sense would have been to abandon the race/faction concept from the beginning and just allow EVERYONE to pick their race and then their faction.  Not pre-order or pay more money to do so.

No i did not. I am saying they are handling preorder bonuses alot better than most. How is a race which will have NO bearing on the gameplay, or a horse that  is 2k gold rather than 17k a huge issue? Please explain it to me.

While we are at it...should we demonize the lore book, map and statue as well? Since you know...you can only get those with the physical collectors edition? You wont be able to get those at any point later on?

Be fair with your answer, because the above is what you are saying.

You still aren't understanding this concept somehow.  You are saying its fair to completely break the mechanic of a race locked faction based game solely if you pre-order, but to ALL of the individuals out there who decide to wait, or have not yet made a decision on the game, they should lose out on this opportunity OR be potentially forced to pay more after the fact to gain access?

Tell me WHY Zenimax, in your opinion, decided to break the race/faction lock as a PRE-ORDER EXCLUSIVE?

So your whole "immoral" argument hinges on a race not being bound to a faction? Tell me...how are khajit/wood elves/high elves lore friendly alliance? Or even better Nords, Dunmer and Argonians? We know the nords were very racist against the Dunmer...where is your outrage about that? Why cant the imperials be more like a "mercenary" race...siding with whomever they choose to be?

Your immorality argument just became a moot point if your whole "immoral" argument is being a race which isnt faction locked.

reset your cmos. I fixed my brothers computer the same way. Turned out the timing for his ram somehow get messed up. his computer would whirl on, not post and the monitor wouldnt turn out. Read the post errors on his mobo and it indicated ram issues. I reset his cmos for him, and presto...worked perfectly.

last question:

I think i might just pull the trigger on the r9 280x (looking at the asus one), but still researching..

Will my antec earthwatts 750 handle it? i am a bit confused on what needs to be on the 12v rails compared to what my psu can put out. The card recommends 500W, which my 80+ 750 can dish out, but some people say i need at least 40A on the 12V rails, and this part confuses me.

question if you dont mind....

what games/resolution do you play? I am just trying to get a feel for what this puppy can handle. I been out of the vid card loop since i bought my old card, and havent had an AMD card in forever.

also, will i notice a difference between a 3gb vid card or 2 gb? I am not using multiple monitors, and i know that plays a big effect on vram.

yeah what i am asking essentially, like my gtx 260 which has lasted me almost 5 years on near max gaming, if the 270x would do the same. while the 280x is more "future proof", its also 100 bucks more.

I am willing to bite the bullet for the 280x, wife may kill me :P, but is there a huge difference between the two cards.

edit: just saw your edit. :) so scratch the 7870 for now.

Question:

I am in the market for a new vid card. I am using a GTX 260 which is finally showing its age. I was stupidly trying to wait out the 7950s when they were coming down in price and missed the sub $200 prices on it (got called away for work).

Now being a family man on a budget, but who enjoys gaming....I have a dilemma. I dont really want to spend the 300 bucks on a R9 280x, and the 200 prices of the R9 270x is alot more appealing.

Unless by some miracle for Cyber Monday and an unknown stash of 7950s are released by newegg for the low $200s, will the R9 270x really be that far of a step down from the 280x?  The most demanding game i just bought is BF4, so looking for a card that can come close to maxing it out, while not breaking my wallet. I want to try the AMD cards this time around, so no trying to push me to Nvidia.

Trying to compare the two cards on various websites and such, it seems like there is a discrepency on how much of a difference i will see.

Specs are:

Phenom II x4 965

8 gbs ram

1080p monitor

asrock extreme 3 870 mobo

antec earthwatts 750w psu

Thanks in advance!

Subjectivity is a wonderful trait. It always holds absolute truth to the beholder. I will pick it up around christmas time and no its not a polished turd. In fact, for players like me who love economies in game, this one could be the best yet if they fix it.

The fact that everything even ship production hinges on the economy (not so in any other x game) has me more excited than the previous games. Just waiting for them to fix it.
