Except Guild Wars 2 really is almost exactly like DAoC. You clearly haven't played it. I've played both and it's basically a successor but better in my opinion.

How is a 3 faction game where each faction has their own realm to be in where they level the same as GW2?  The only thing they have in common is 3 way pvp and that resets every 2 weeks which makes it even less like DAOC.

a good psu will save you a ton of headaches. Never skimp on the psu.

Also based on reviews...IVY bridge doesnt look to be a big enough improvement to upgrade to it. Save some cash and get a sandy bridge instead. A good i5 SB is worth more dollar for dollar than most chips.

and this is coming from someone who only buys AMD processors :P even i can appreciate how good the i5s are.

Having said that....I actually agree with the things you said about GW2 (of course).  I don't know enough about TERA to comment on but a very FEW things, and those aren't important aspects like combat.  For all I know, TERA's combat could be just terrific, but I haven't EXPERIENCED IT PERSONALLY so therefore I'm not suited to comment, so I don't.  The only thing about TERA I have ever commented on is the graphics (which I have seen in videos), and the use of sexualization of characters (also from videos).  I can't comment on any of the technical aspect of gameplay, but a lot of people seem to like it, so I figure it can't be all bad.

 

Both of these games are loved by many and hated by few.  I think they come up pretty even in that department.  Why can't we all just agree to disagree and keep enjoying the game that we want to enjoy.  What's so freaking difficult about that?  No, we'd rather try to convince the unconvincable to switch to "our" favorite game.  It's just really silly.  Why should you care if someone loves a game that you don't????   What is the big deal?   lol

Getting anyone from GW2 to get along with another game will never happen. Since the announcement of GW2 rabid fanbois have been invading other game forums since it was announced. Quite annoying to everyone else.

To be fair though, there are a lot of postive threads about the game as well, it's just that they get buried fast by the obvious... 'dubious' posters on low post count/ rarely active accounts and whatnot.

ANet made an early 'mistake' of not having their infrastructure operating flawlessly at the start of their first mass beta (go figure...) and the jackals surged in, as they have been salivating at doing since the announcement of it.

Keep convincing yourselves of that, fanboys. Gotta keep the delusion going anyway you can.

 

The funny part is Vesavius is first to discredit anyone who pulls those excuses on other launches, irony is strong in this one.
