i dont get people on this site. They belittle others for liking games, calling it the same old same old....but they play a game they like (Tera) they ignore their own trolling.

If you like a game, then great....but dont troll every one else cause you didnt like another game, damn hypocrits.

you would need an ungodly large land mass for a ground based game if the game ever became successful. THe reason that eve can do it is because of space and its nature...its infinite.

Also, imagine starter areas in a quest based game , or quest hubs? you wouldnt be able to move or get your 10x kills or whatever...you could have a few thousand in each area.

it honestly wouldnt. EVE is unique in where almost every single item in game is made by the players, and the economy is based on it. I am not 100% sure how archage handles their items, but i would have to say that all or most would have to be player made with almost no loot drops, or BOEs, or anything of the sort. 

i have 73 hours played, and i barely have touched the main quests lol

i wouldnt sign it. For a game to have full loot pvp tacked onto a game which was NOT DESIGNED for full loot....it throws many mechanics out of whack in the game.

The reason why EVE is successful is that from Day 1 the game was designed for it, as well as the economy and crafting, mechanics, dynamics, etc.

Well by this logic.. 

If two brothers are playing and one brother offers to do the dishes for the other brother in exchange for some in game credits... that would be worth a perma ban as well. As player A has an unfair advantage over player B who does not have siblings.

does the other brother rat him out? if so they should both be permabanned ! lol

because i am one of those who beleive all gold farming, trading, etc should be dealt with a heavy hand. I seen a few games spiral out of control because of it.

I have made this joke in WoW actually... and didn't get banned for it... and in General chat to boot. Back when people where leaving to play aion I used to say... 2) It was a perma banned but he managed to get it repealed to a 10 day suspension. If he hadn't it would have been a perma ban

3) My argument is that it is "morally wrong" as in "not a good reason" to perma ban a player for something like this... that is my opinion. If you disagree with it well... let's just say never trust anyone who values "technicailities" more than "what's right"

4) or a guild member who rats out other guild members....am i right? lol

and i dont value technicalities over morality. in fact if i was the guild leader and i found out about it...i would have booted the rat but thats just me :P

How is it ironic?  To clarify - the video showcases what is wrong with SWTOR.  In some of the points, the author points out how WoW does it better.

Please don't be confused: I'm not trying to say that WoW originated all the features we find in its game, i'm agreeing with the author on the problems with SWTOR and how WoW has a better system.  Please don't turn this into a "BUT EQ DID IT FIRST HERP DE DERP" argument.  I'm not going there.

i was laughing when you said "I shouldn't compare SWTOR to WoW because SWTOR is a unique little snowflake that developed all of its ideas by itself." i just thought it was humorous since wow doesnt have an original developed idea in all its coding (ok the art is a bit original)

I see.  Well to stir this back on course: We should compare SWTOR to WoW, and to EQ before it if they share a mechanic or feature in each game.  Nothing wrong with doing that to make a valid point about a failed system.

So if you have a guild that is multi game (like the one im in) you have a better understanding of how you can and can't help each other across those multiple games while playing this one. And if you choose to talk to each other about swapping assets across various games... best to keep it out of in game chat, even private channels. As offering to swap someone some power crystals in SWTOR for some Minerals in WoW will get you permanently banned

coming from a multi game guild, we dont usually swap "services" openly. We have a guild forum for that. And yes, if i were to mention it publicly in game, i would be reported on...and if you have ever played an mmo...this form of currency and services exchange has never been prohibited.

Granted none of us would report the other for asking for help in in another game, hence why i wouldnt trust your...i mean "his" friend 

 

But yes this would be a bannable offence in any mmo.
