Gosh! , I found the game had so many bugs in the Open Beta that were not there in the Closed Beta , the dungeons are closed ( Chaste Sanctum ) , the Hook armours are bugged and even going through the normal hunting I found bugs and it is meaningless to play this game now.

Never till this game is that I saw a game going crappy from Closed Beta to Open Beta, when we all know that generally the reverse is what is true.

It was a nice game till level 40ish when we played it but now it seems, the game is in poor state.

You can read my previous posts on Requiem game and I am really sorry to make a post like this as I hate to write posts like this.

Its called beta for a reason, to test the game in various ways.

If you enter Beta's and expect a finished game, you need to go to the pharmacy and collect some brainpills.

When they first announced that there would be no official forums for Warhammer, I was disappointed with the development team.  However, after experiencing the forums for Age of Conan, I'm starting to think that no official forums might actually be the better way to go.  The AoC forums are full of useless arguments that do not help foster a stronger community nor better gameplay.  It is mostly thread after thread of people arguing about how the game should be designed, or about which playstyle is superior to another, or about how people need to quit QQing and go back to WoW.

I think Mythic has picked up on this change in the MMORPG player populace.  I think it started in WoW and has become worse from there.  Official forums are no longer used for players to discuss gameplay, share information, and discuss current ingame events, or current RL events.  Official forums are merely seen as a right to troll and post useless junk on a perceived important place where many will see it.  Many see the forums as more of a game than the actual game.

This type of abuse of official forums will continue to increase.  Gaming companies will continue to not be able to adequately moderate their forums in fear of losing customers, or causing more outbreaks of unhappy customers when they see their "rights" taken away.  Unaffiliated private forums will just be able to do the job better.  Look at the WoW forums and then look at the Elitist Jerks forums and its easy to tell which is better.

Anyways, not sure if I summed this up to well, but I think anyone else currently trying out Age of Conan will agree that their official forums have hit an all-time low in the quality of official MMORPG gaming forums.  It's literally like falling into the trash compactor on the Death Star and wading through junk while some monster tries to pull you underwater and drown you.  Seems that the overall MMORPG player base has degraded to a point where giving them a "right" to a forum no longer works.

The problem in AoC isnt the actual forum, it's the lack of experienced moderators.

Yup, but the games are bad so it doesnt matter.

Am i the only one that thinks they should stop trying to make better and better graphics? Isnt it enough soon?

Get a great game with the graphics available and you will get the subscribers, instead of what happened to Lotro (and what is about to happen to AoC), many bought the game but cancelled the subscription after the free 30 days.

AoC's graphics will look dated before you know it, they did the right choice because MMORPGs last so many years.

it has low system requirements for tomorrow's super PC.

Solid state harddisks are already here, but expensive. Samsung is releasing a 256 GB SSD with 200 MB/s transfer rate soon, can you say insta loading?

We are entering solid state era soon, huge textures will be no problem. My next PC will make my current PC seem ancient

So what if there will come something even more awesome graphically?

So what if the new harddrives can go faster, make dinner and drive your kids to school?

Those things doesnt really matter if the need for it is just theoretical?

When WoW opened anyone with a 1-3 yo pc could play it on good/great graph. (and still can),  if you want to do that on AoC you need to invest 10 times the worth of the game to even come close to high-end graphics. How many outside the hardcore mmorpg-community is prepared to do that, especially when the "recommended" isnt even close to get you a playable game (imo).

I bough AoC with a recommended+ pc at hand to see this mindblowing graphics, amazing and groundbreaking PvE and kickass pvp.

I got neither.

Well, im sure it balances the trolls making multiple accounts giving it 10 over and over again.

In the end every game gets the rating it deserves, LotrO had a 9.1 rating after launch if i remember it correctly.

War and AoC are the most anticipated games right now. well AoC is out, but it is top of the line in MMORPG's, Aoc will grow to most likely millions of players much like Wow, and War is also a top notch game about to come out. it looks right now that WoW is at the peak of its popularity.

As Conan just came out, i know many people who have switched to it just because it is New and a very good game as well, many more of my friends are telling me once WaR comes out that they are leaving wow and going to play War.

as it is, many former WoW players have jsut moved over to Conan and many more are planning to, nobody will ever be able to just stop WoW, LOTRO helped alot but with these two games i think that we can assure one of them as the new King of MMORPG's

Im not saying that Wow is bad, im a WoW player myself, im just simply saying that i think there is a need for change in the most popular MMO out there

What will happen is that every major game released will make WoW work harder and harder to keep their playerbase.

Thats why o got LortO,and AoC.

Yes because 6 days after WoWs release everything was all fine and dandy, if you read the coveted stable WoW General forums right now you'd think that the world was ending.

AoC has already added servers, you prediction of its 'demise' is premature to say the least.

Cant remember who said it here, but i agree with it.

"AoC isnt competing with WoW 3,5 years ago, it's competing with the WoW of today."

Yep but once again this game is 6 days old, startup issues are commonplace in MMOs. Compete with WoW today? OK, let's talk about WoW. Arenas or raiding.....that's the game of WoW today. I've played WoW since release and it's time to move on since 'easymode' has become commonplace over there, the game simply is boring.

I'm in my 40s in AoC and loving every minute of it, working on crafting and then going from there. I have no regrets but WoW isn't for me anymore and I'm not alone in this feeling, this isn't the 'new game' syndrome either. The game is excellent and fun to play, I wish they'd revamp their chat system which is pathetic but I can stand waiting on that.

You got bored after 4 years?

Go figure you think its easymode, that happens when you spend hours/day on one and the same thing.

WoW  is what every other game is. IT IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT.

And AoC is making the way into a garbagebin at my place.

Well, not entirely true, i ordered the CE-box which will soon be at an auctionhouse near you :)

Please, make an innovative game like darkfall so we can begin the process of waiting for Blizzard to perfect it.

Even i have to come to AoC's defence here.

Wether AoC is good or not, it's definitely NOT a WoW-clone.

WoW has 10 million subscribers, it isnt that hard to understand that some are writing in other forums than thei WoW one, or atleast i thought so.

Are the WoW-kids really this frightened that the gaming world is leaving them behind?

Hi, im Nick, 34yo

I keep reading these obviously fraudulent posts over and over and can tell they have not played the game past the starter dungeon, if at all.  This last week there have been dozens of 'new' MMORPG.com names and accounts all started in the last few days all posting rediculous attacks that are hollow and empty of substance, but all trying to denigrate Conan.

And so are AoC-glorifiers, whats your point?

You frauds can all stop now.  We have about a million people that have purchased the game.  We don't need you.  You are irrelevant.

I know, im one of them who bought it, played EA and first days of openings, still didnt liked it and stopped.

No potential customers are irrelevant.

If it doesn't run on your system - sorry.   a) Buy a better computer  b) Redo your OS and Drivers.  c)  or purhaps it is just some mystical force in the universe that has decided to ruin your MMO experience.   The game is running great on most people's mid to highend systems.  The world of technology has moved on; games have moved on.  If you want to hang on to old, outdated technology go play an old, outdated game.  But don't complain about your low budget systems here.  Buh-bye

The game isnt running good on most peoples mid to high-end pc's.

If you don't like AoC - oh well.  Buh-bye  See you in the next game that we might share.  We don't need you, nor want you.  It is fine to say a parting word or two about a game as you leave, but you are missing the leaving part.  Leave already.  We don't need your professional opinion from the years of living in your mother's basement playing WoW.  Don't care - you are irrelevant. Buh-bye.

Now your just obnoctious, all cant like the game your playing, althou im not sure your playing AoC at all.

If you do stay around here flaming a game that you never really played, never left the starter dungeon (Like many parts of this game, AoC's starter dungeon is the largest in MMO history - you don't leave it until 20th level) but if you are still here you have to ask why.  We are wondering why you are here too.  If Age of Conan has shone a light on the tombstone of your favorite game, it happens, get over it.  Your favorite game will slowly die away like all toys do.  AoC is just the bright light that has demonstrated that your game has entered its twighlight years.

WoW is still increasing its playerbase, even through the AoC launch it didnt dip down at all.

It is understandable that you fear watching a game that you loved for thousands of hours growing old, growing outdated, falling behind as the MMO world moves on... but suck it up and get over it.  Go play that game and love it as it passes away.

Are you always on repeat?

But you can do that elsewhere too.

Have fun playing AoC, i wish you the best, but now i have to return to the biggest selling and still growing mmorpg ever launced.

Hi.

One thing that ive seen in most (not all) mmorpg's ive played is that almost never is there a good lootsystem from the beginning.

What kind of lootsystem will SGW have?

In that i mean bagspace, easylooting from kills, rolls, banking, auctionhouses aso.

There, or will this get locked to?

Please in future when you write a review dont be baised it makes you look like a troll  ..

If you say whats bad say how they couldve done it better ..etc etc . Tell us good things and bad things , obviously its not all bad because other players are saying how awesome the game is

I agree with OP 100% its honest review of how game realy is, its justa 6 year old mmo with new grafics thats all.

I think you spoke the truth here, a 6yo game with good graph.

1. Toon'ish graphics.

When developers say that they will create graphics never heard of before i get my hopes up but in the end i get disappointed.

Yes the Graph in LotrO and others like it is great ...until you start to move, then the backgrounds and the character starts to mismatch, almost as if the background was drawn horisontal and the char diagonal.

2. No loadingscreens.

I hate loadingscreens, they should be optional movie features for those who likes that kinda stuff.

The OP was in no way constructive. Instead of explaining exactly what you like about WoW's system and dislike about AoC's, you simply bashed AoC's. That, quite frankly, does not lay the foundation for a topic of any worth, as you did not state anything other than the fact that you like WoW's system and do not like AoC's. What exactly are users who have never played those games supposed to discuss here?

Either youy are very stupid or you have a reading-disability.

I have said this twice now.

Im asking the developers of Stargate worlds what kind of lootsystem they are going to use and i took out examples on what i think is a good system and a bad system.

This isnt a bashing of AoC or a glorification of WoW.

It is a question.

If you want details about why i think WoW has a better lootsystem, then you should have asked a simple question instead of misreading in something between the lines that doesnt exist.

Have a nice day.

edit: you are both blocked and reported, the reasons i have explained to the mmorpg.com's staff.

again, have a nice day.

If you intend on trolling, please go do it in the forum sections actually relating to what you're trying to troll. Over here isn't the place to discuss the AoC and WoW loot systems.

Do you really have nothing better to do with your time than search for new places to insult AoC?

I was asking a question to the developers about the lootsystem they intend to put in the game, in that i used two examples, a good one and a bad one.

If you want to i can put "Sword of the new worlds" lootsystem there as a bad example instead of the AoC one.

Now i will await an answer from the SGW-team instead of explaining the obvious.

If you have something constructive to say about what you think is a good vs bad lootsystem, feel free to write something down, but if flaming is all you want you will be both blocked and reported.

Have a nice day.

My suggestion is that you look into what works in other games *coff* - wow - *coff* and copy it shameless instead of trying to do somethin different that fails miserably *coff* - aoc - *coff*.

Both WoW and AoC looting system is quest based so what the hell are you trying to say?

Im saying AoC's lootsystem su** and the WoW lootsystem works great, i thought that was obvious, i dont really know how i can say it simplier.

AoC BAD
WoW GOOD

better?

How can the same system suck in one game and not the other? Troll.

Exactly how can you say the lootsystems are thesame?

They are both "quest based"?

Im sorry, i havnt heard of that expression before, can you in detail explain to me and the rest of the community how AoC and WoW use thesame lootsystem.

And i said detailed.

We can start by the bags and inventory, move on to how you in wow can pick up all the loot by "shift" - "rightclick" and in AoC you have to first click on the loot, have a bubble appear and then make the choice.

After that we can move on to the bankingsystem, the use of auctionhouses, how you sell things to NPC's etc etc.

Please enlighten me, you fountain of all knowledge, how similar those systems are.
